Chapter 241 The Mitchell Family

"Hey Charles, where'd you pick up all those medical skills?" Nancy asked, her curiosity piqued.

She couldn't help but be intrigued by Charles. He was so young yet incredibly talented. Not only could he play the piano and dance like a pro, but his medical skills were off the charts too.

"Why all the questions? You want me to check you out too?" Charles dodged, reaching out to conduct his regular check-up on Nancy.

"Looks like something's up with your health," he said, frowning.

"What's wrong?" Nancy asked, a bit taken aback. Did she have some hidden illness?

"Do you have irregular periods?"

"What the heck are you talking about!" Nancy blurted out, feeling super embarrassed. This was way too personal, especially with the driver right there!

"Do you stay up late and eat at odd hours?" Charles pressed on.

"How'd you know?" Nancy was surprised. As a cop, late nights were part of the job.

Staying up late and irregular eating could mess with your hormones. Every time her period came, the pain was unbearable, but she always toughed it out.

"You probably have dysmenorrhea. I'll write you a prescription. Take the meds on time, and it should help."

"Thanks a ton!" Nancy said, looking at Charles with growing admiration.

But Charles quickly pulled his hand back, not wanting to get too close.

Nancy: Favorability +5

Current Favorability: 65 points.

Seeing Nancy's favorability go up again, Charles had to accept it. Nancy's background was complicated—her dad was the mayor of Syeattel, which made Charles hesitant to get too close.

With her favorability at 65 points now, Charles had to figure out how to spend money on Nancy without it looking like a bribe.

Her dad was the mayor, and she was a cop. This made Charles wary of giving her gifts, especially expensive ones. But he felt there might be a way around it.

"So, why'd you come to see me this time?" Charles asked, about half an hour after leaving Lacus Magnus University.

"Remember when you caught that international S-class fugitive and took down that gang involved in kidnappings and extortion? The city leaders decided to honor you with the title of City Hero."

'City Hero? What does that even mean? I just want to keep things low-key. How am I supposed to stay under the radar with this kind of attention?' Charles thought, feeling a bit trapped.

"Can I say no?" he asked.

"Why would you want to refuse? This is a huge honor. Don't you want to be a hero admired by everyone?" Nancy asked, clearly puzzled.

"Sorry, but I really don't want to be a hero."

"But you caught the fugitive. It's your achievement. Reporters have already covered your story, planning to highlight your bravery and how you saved that heart attack patient."

"I don't want any part of that. I was forced into this. I don't know who's snapping pictures of me, but I won't be the City Hero. And even if I am, you can't show my face!"

Did he really not want to be the City Hero? Charles's indifference to fame made Nancy admire him even more.

Soon, Charles arrived at the police station. At that moment, a very handsome young man holding a bouquet of flowers, sitting in a military jeep, had been waiting at the entrance for a long time.

His name was Lucian Mitchell. He had participated in border anti-drug operations, came from a powerful family, and was very capable himself. Last year, in the National Military District Combat Competition, Lucian won the title of King of Combat with absolute strength. He was a bona fide special forces soldier.

Today, he wasn't here for a military mission; he was here to pursue Nancy. Lucian was twenty-eight years old, and the Mitchell family had only him as their sole heir. Lucian, however, liked to participate in dangerous missions, so his family arranged a blind date for him, and the blind date was the Mayor's daughter, Nancy.

In Syeattel, there were few families suitable for the Hawkins family, and the Mitchell family was one of them. He didn't like ordinary women, so he hadn't paid much attention to the blind date. But after meeting Nancy in person, he was instantly captivated!

Nancy was not only beautiful and elegant but also had an impressive background. More importantly, she didn't have the affectation often seen in other women. She was a talented, ambitious, and strong-willed woman! Such a woman was qualified to be his girlfriend and even his wife!

Lucian was very satisfied with this blind date, but Nancy's attitude was ambiguous. Both families actually had the idea of a marriage alliance. But the mayor was quite open-minded and didn't interfere with Nancy's thoughts because he valued Nancy's own attitude more. Since Nancy was still young, there was no rush. It was better for the two to spend more time together.
