Chapter 196 Feeling Quite Guilty
Charles didn't see it coming that Snow would warm up to him so fast.
'Could dropping $150 million really make that big of a splash?
And what about Ms. Green? Wasn't she supposed to keep it on the down-low?
How did it blow up so quick?'Charles thought, frowning. Even though he had bailed from KoiTech Inc., he could still piece together why Snow was suddenly all about him.
She must've found out he dropped $150 million on shares for her.
Couldn't think of any other reason why she'd be into him.
Makes sense though, since like 99.9% of chicks in this world are all about the money, but hey, dudes are the same.
In a girl's eyes, being thoughtful is a big deal. But the catch is, showing thoughtfulness usually means spending cash!
And Charles knew how to spend it smart.
He didn't just hand Snow $150 million straight up; he went through Amanda. So it wouldn't come off as too much, and instead, it looked like he was making quiet sacrifices.
No girl could resist that kind of silent dedication.
So this role reversal was a surprise, but it made sense.
Meanwhile, Alice was chilling with a girl at a café on the first floor.

After Alice blocked Leo, she bumped into April getting off the elevator.
They were classmates, so they started chatting, and when they hit the first floor, a property staff member spilled the beans about Alice's identity.
Knowing who Alice was, April was instantly blown away and dragged Alice to a café on the first floor. "Alice, no way! You're the landlord of the Gold Trade Building? Holy crap, you're loaded!"
"April, chill out. You're making me a bit uncomfortable!"
"Okay, but seriously. I heard the Gold Trade Building was owned by some rich dude named Nguyen. How'd you end up owning it?" April's words had a sneaky undertone. She even thought Alice might've become Mr. Nguyen's sugar baby.
Alice caught the hint in April's words.
She and April weren't that close; though classmates, they never hung out, only exchanged greetings, as they belonged to different social circles.
"It's not what you think. It's kinda complicated. Mr. Nguyen started a new project in New York and needed a ton of cash, so he sold the Gold Trade Building. I just took over recently!"
"So your family's that rich. Hold up, let me do the math. This building's gotta be worth at least $300 million, right? Your family can actually drop $400 million? Oh my God!" April whipped out her phone to calculate and was even more shocked!
If Alice's family could drop $400 million to buy a building, then the Mitchell family's assets must be at least $2 billion.
"Not really, my family can't swing that kind of cash. This building was a gift from my boyfriend!"
Hearing Alice's words, April almost spat her coffee all over her.
Was she joking?
Who gives a building as a gift?
"Your boyfriend bought this building?"
"Yeah, his name's Charles, and he's tight with Daniel. You know Daniel, right?" Alice said.
"Daniel's buddy, huh? Wait a sec..." April suddenly remembered someone.
Back at the Lindell Academy gate, she had seen a guy driving a Ferrari LaFerrari, a $3 million ride. Anyone who could afford that must be loaded.
She had tried to get to know the rich dude but got shut down.
Then she ran into Daniel, and things got a bit awkward.
Could Alice's boyfriend, who bought her the building, be that hot guy driving the Ferrari?
"Did your boyfriend really give you a whole building?" April asked again, just to be sure.
She felt a pang of envy. Why were other people's boyfriends so awesome?
Giving away a $400 million building like it was nothing.
Her ex wouldn't even buy her a $6,000 bag.
"Yeah, he even put the property in my name. Honestly, I'm still kinda confused. Do you think Charles really likes me?"
"Alice, you're being ridiculous. He gave you a $400 million building, and you're still wondering if he likes you? If I had a boyfriend like that, I'd do anything for him!" April bluntly said.
"But I always feel like there might be other girls around him..."
"Isn't that obvious?" April rolled her eyes. "He's young, hot, and rich. Of course, there are gonna be girls trying to get with him. A guy like that is always gonna have competition. What you need to do is trust him and appreciate him. Doubting him will just push you guys apart.
You gotta understand, a guy like him won't be short on pretty girls. The more you doubt him, the more annoyed he'll get, and some chick might swoop in.
Even if he doesn't like you enough, he spent $400 million on a building for you. Why didn't he give it to another girl? It's because you mean something special to him. Can't you see that? Do you still need proof?"
April's words instantly woke Alice up.
Alice suddenly realized she had been too anxious before.
Maybe after Charles bought her the building, she had been feeling uneasy.
It didn't feel real.
Seeing Charles and Snow come out of the elevator together had made her panic!
Now, after April's pep talk, she started to realize this was a terrible mindset.
No guy would appreciate a girl who constantly doubted him.
"You're right. Thanks, April. Charles has done so much for me, and I haven't done anything for him. I feel pretty guilty thinking about it!"
