Chapter 228 Developing on a Larger Scale
As Lori wrapped up her speech, the four women quickly set up a Facebook chat group.
On the surface, they were banding together against a common enemy, but deep down, each had their own agenda.
No way were they gonna spill their true feelings that easily. Alice figured that if Charles ever went broke, he'd finally see the true colors of the other two women. When that day came, she'd step in, help him out, and pay back the money he lost. Then Charles would see who really had his back, and he'd be totally moved!
But guess what? Jessica was thinking the exact same thing!
Outwardly, they trashed Charles, calling him a jerk and cursing him out. But inside, they all had their own schemes.
Right then, Jessica piped up with a question, "Charles has fifty billion dollars in assets. The thing is, it's not easy to blow through fifty billion. With our usual spending habits—buying luxury cars, mansions, fancy bags, necklaces, gems, watches, even limited editions—it's nothing to Charles. Even if we spend millions a day, he might be making tens of millions a day. What do we do?"
Jessica hit the nail on the head.
Charles had so much money that regular spending tricks wouldn't work. He made money faster than they could spend it.
If he could rake in $50 million a day, even if they blew $30 million a day, he'd still be rolling in dough. His assets would just keep growing.
"Jessica's right, regular spending won't faze a jerk like Charles. But you could start a company! Think outside the box. Expand the company, and don't worry about losses. If you lose money, just ask Charles for more."
"You can act like ambitious career women in front of him. Even though Charles is a jerk, he's generous and probably won't say no. For example, Jessica, aren't you into live streaming?" Lori suggested.
"Yeah, I've got over five million followers," Jessica replied. "How about I tell Charles I want to become an internet celebrity and start my own guild? I could have him send me gifts worth millions every day."
But Lori shot that down quick. "Jessica, think bigger. You need to spend fifty billion, not five billion. How much can you really get from live streaming gifts? How much does it cost to start a guild? Listen to me, have him start a streaming platform for you, aim to make it the biggest in the country, hire talent with high salaries, raise wages to the highest market standards, give all streamers over seventy percent of the revenue. If you pull that off, you could burn through tens of billions a month, right?"
As Lori laid it out, Jessica suddenly got it. If she did that, it would definitely waste a ton of money!
"And Snow, why don't you kick off an e-commerce platform? Start small, say it's just a little side project. Once it's up and running, you can keep asking Charles for more investment. Once the company is rolling, you'll have plenty of reasons to hit him up for cash. Just handle it yourself!"
"And Alice, why not start a phone factory? Do your own R&D, make your own chips, start a business. I don't know if you'll make money, but you can easily burn through hundreds of billions a year this way!"
The more Lori talked, the crazier her ideas got. When she got to Alice, it was clear she was just throwing out wild suggestions, thinking Charles was a total fool.
"Lori, what you're saying is a bit over the top, but I think we should start with smaller goals. When we ask Charles for investment, we should be more subtle. Maybe he'll actually invest in us!" Jessica said, trying to be the voice of reason.
"And while you're at it, don't forget to buy luxury houses, cars, and all kinds of high-end brands. Don't start thinking of yourselves as this jerk's employees!" Lori reminded them one last time.
Snow, Alice, and Jessica exchanged glances. "Alright! Let's do it this way!"
If they followed this plan, Charles's fifty billion dollars might not even last six months.
Meanwhile, Charles had no clue he was being set up! He took Roxy to the school infirmary, with Leonardo and Amy trailing behind.
"Charles, here are the silver needles you need. Do you want to start the acupuncture treatment now?" Leonardo asked politely. Charles's medical skills had earned his respect.
"Alright, Professor Morris, could you step out for a moment?" Charles directed his words to both Leonardo and Roxy. "The patient needs to remove her clothes for the treatment to be effective. It's not appropriate for a man to be present during this."
Using acupuncture to unblock the meridians around the heart was no simple task. Accurate needle placement was crucial, and clothing would have obstructed this process.
As a professional doctor, Charles's goal was to cure the patient, not show off. His request was entirely reasonable and necessary for the success of the treatment.
"Do I really need to take off my clothes?" Roxy looked at Charles, wondering if he was trying to take advantage of her.
"But you're a man too?" Amy pointed out.
"There are plenty of male gynecologists in hospitals. Do people stop seeing them because of that? Please trust my professionalism. Your condition is serious and can't be delayed. Hurry up and take off your clothes!" Charles said, keeping a straight face.
