Chapter 230 Human Life or Regulations?

Amy always felt like there was something a bit different about Roxy, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Maybe she was just imagining things.

"Hey, I'll send you a list of meds later. You gotta buy them yourself and take them exactly as I tell you. It'll really help you out," Charles advised.

"Also, no staying up late. You need to be in bed by eleven every night. And don't do any intense workouts; stick to light and easy stuff. Stay away from spicy and hot foods. Eat more veggies and fruits to keep things balanced."

"And don't set an alarm to wake up. Make sure you wake up naturally every day. But once you're up, don't just lie there playing on your phone. I suggest doing some simple yoga every morning!" Charles continued, offering practical advice.

Despite knowing the benefits of going to bed early, maintaining a balanced diet, and avoiding phone use in bed, people often struggled to change their habits. These bad habits led to health problems over time. Charles's advice, though familiar, was a necessary reminder of the importance of these changes for better health.

"Okay, Charles, I'll follow your advice!" Roxy nodded seriously.

Maybe she wouldn't have taken it to heart before. But now, after almost dying, she had a new appreciation for life. She remembered everything Charles said and planned to stick to it.

Charles believed that maintaining healthy habits was crucial for preventing illnesses. He often said that if someone just had a regular routine, ate three meals a day, played on their phone less, and exercised more, it would be more effective than any medicine. With a healthy body, people were naturally less likely to get sick."Charles, are you done with the treatment?"

Charles had just walked out of the clinic when he saw a big crowd outside. Besides Professor Morris, there were also other cheerleaders and teachers from Syeattel Music Academy.

And then Charles noticed a few doctors.

When Charles was treating Roxy earlier, the ambulance had arrived, and the medical staff rushed over when they heard the patient was taken to the school clinic, but Leonardo had stopped them at the door.

"Professor Morris, was it him who treated the emergency patient just now?" A doctor in his thirties, with a scholarly look and gold-rimmed glasses, looked at Charles with a disdainful expression.

"Dr. Kim, let me introduce you. This is Charles Watson. Don't be fooled by his age; he was the one who bravely saved Roxy just now. Otherwise, who knows what could've happened!" Professor Morris sighed with relief.

The situation earlier had been really dangerous!

This bespectacled Dr. Kim and Professor Morris were old classmates, and Thaddeus Kim had become an attending physician at Unity Care Hospital at a young age.

"Dr. Watson, I didn't expect someone so young to have such impressive medical skills. Which school did you graduate from?" Thaddeus asked, genuinely impressed.

"I'm a junior at Lacus Magnus University School of Arts!" Charles replied honestly.

Everyone was stunned. They had assumed Charles was some prodigy from a medical school. But he was just an arts student. So he had basically played doctor and treated a heart attack patient. How gutsy was that?

"Ridiculous! Absolutely ridiculous! You're not a medical student, so you don't have a medical license, do you?" Thaddeus suddenly got all serious, questioning sternly.

"Nope, I don't have one," Charles admitted.

"Do you know that only licensed doctors are qualified to treat patients? Aren't you afraid of the legal consequences for such reckless behavior? What if something went wrong? Do you know how serious the consequences could be?" Thaddeus's voice grew louder, clearly wanting to use this chance to scold Charles.

Thaddeus had a hidden motive. After seeing Roxy's stunning beauty, he was impressed. At just thirty-one, he was already an attending physician in internal medicine, with a strong family background and a father who was the hospital director. He saw this as a chance to assert his authority and impress Roxy by teaching Charles a lesson, who was indeed at fault.

Unfortunately, he thought he could intimidate Charles, but Charles wasn't scared at all. "So what if I don't have a medical license? In such an emergency, do we have to wait for you to arrive before saving someone? If that's the case, the person would be dead by then."

"Do you think a rule is more important, or a life? If you think the rule is more important, I have nothing to say. If you think a life is more important, then shut up!"

"If you don't like me, you can report me for practicing medicine without a license. Do you want me to call the police for you?" Charles looked completely unafraid, his tone even more aggressive, his eyes filled with contempt.

Hearing Charles' words, Thaddeus was furious. He had only intended to give a brief scolding, but who knew Charles would be so arrogant.

"Charles, how can you talk like that? Dr. Kim is your senior, and he was just reminding you to get a medical license. Why are you so rude?" Leonardo tried to mediate. "Thaddeus, actually, Charles has a point. The situation earlier was indeed very critical. It's a good thing he stepped in to help!"

"Really? Treating without a license, and you're still so arrogant. Do you think I won't call the police?" Thaddeus ignored Leonardo and turned to Charles, his voice dripping with disdain.
