Chapter 194 Charles, What Exactly do You Want?
Snow was completely lost in her own head.
She thought the paper was just some full-time job app, so she didn't even bother reading it and just scribbled her name.
She had to admit, her behavior yesterday was not only fake but also super shady.
Was she really just treating Charles like a classmate?
She was just lying to herself!
"Snow, get your butt to the conference room, Mr. Green's got something to say!" A company secretary called out after a bit.
She didn't just tell Snow, she told everyone in the company. All three hundred of them from different departments.
Soon enough, these three hundred folks were crammed into a big conference hall, about 1935 square feet. The room was fine for a single department meeting, but with everyone there, it felt kinda packed.
When Snow walked in, she saw a bunch of people already there. Managers, directors, you name it, they were all there.
Even some execs who were out on assignments or on vacation joined in via video call!
Clearly, this last-minute meeting was a big deal.
"Didn't we just have a company meeting a few days ago? What's up with another one?"
"Company meetings are usually once a month, Mr. Green must have something major to announce!"
"I heard the company's been looking for venture capital, maybe there's some news, and we might get new shareholders!" A group of employees was gossiping.
Everyone was dying to know who the new big shot was.
Amanda was actually a real powerhouse.
When KoiApp started, it wasn't just her money.
At first, she only had twenty percent of the shares, and there were five shareholders in total.
But in 2019, KoiApp hit a major snag. Some users spread negative stuff, tanking the app's rep, and it got pulled for a cleanup.
That crisis made the other shareholders bail and sell their shares for cheap. Amanda stepped up big time. She bought out the other shareholders and kept paying over a hundred employees. The company was bleeding money, losing a million bucks a month!
She toughed it out for six months.
Slowly, she turned KoiApp around and got it back on track.
Now, among similar apps, KoiApp is third, with Instagram being the top dog with a way bigger market share.
But Amanda was sure that with Mr. Smoke's investment, she could get KoiApp on Instagram's level in two years.
In the meeting room, Amanda glanced at Snow with a smile. "Alright, everyone, I called you here today is to drop some big news. Our company is promoting a new Vice President!" As soon as she said that, all the execs sat up straight.
The VP spot has been vacant since the last VP, a major shareholder and KoiApp founder, quit after selling his shares in 2019
Now, the department heads were buzzing, thinking they all had a shot at the big promotion.
The room got tense real quick.
A few managers were already getting pumped up.
"Alright, I'm announcing that the new Vice President of the company is... Ms. Snow! Come on up!" Amanda said, and all three hundred pairs of eyes turned to Snow.
Snow was totally floored!
She couldn't wrap her head around how she went from a newbie assistant to the VP of the company.
"Mr. Green, this appointment is way too rushed. Snow's just a new hire. What makes her qualified to be VP? In terms of seniority or skills, she's not the right fit!" The Marketing Director stood up and shouted.
"Director Wright's got a point. I also think Mr. Green's decision is a bit hasty!" Another exec chimed in.
"Hasty? I don't think so. Sure, Snow just joined, but her skills are top-notch. You guys have no clue about the huge contributions she's made to the company!
I've got a share agreement right here. Let me spill the beans: Snow is now the second-largest shareholder of KoiTech Inc., holding forty-nine percent of the shares. She brought in a $150 million investment for us. Any questions?" Amanda's words hit like a bombshell, leaving everyone stunned.
No one saw it coming that this new, pretty assistant could bring in $150 million and snag forty-nine percent of KoiTech Inc.'s shares.
Whether KoiTech was worth $150 million was still up in the air, but she spent $150 million and only got forty-nine percent?
What if it tanked?
Who could guarantee KoiApp would blow up in the future?
Some execs had been eyeing Snow, thinking they could pull some shady office moves, but now they didn't dare even think about it!
"Since no one has any objections, Snow will officially take over as the Vice President of our company. Also, I've got more good news. After this round of financing, employees who've been with us for over two years will get bonuses, and those here for more than three years will get stock options." Amanda started hyping up the meeting, talking about the future, dreams, and ambitions, promising a bunch of perks to get everyone on board.
All bosses love to hype things up, whether it's true or not, they always talk big about the company's future.
Right then, Snow couldn't hear Amanda's speech anymore.
She was almost in a daze, her mind racing.
She suddenly became the second-largest shareholder and the VP of the company?
But she didn't buy those shares.
There was only one explanation!
Charles gave them to her!
He secretly handed her $150 million worth of shares, but didn't even mention it before leaving.
Snow's heart was in turmoil again, 'Charles, what the heck are you trying to do?'
