Chapter 214 Feeling Uneasy

"Hey Lisa, what's up with you and Rachel lately? You two are acting like enemies in the dorm. Weren't you best friends before?" Lily asked.

"Don't even bring her up. I'm done with her. It's either her or me now. I'm moving out in a few days. Lily, you should come with me. Rachel went behind my back and messed with my guy. You all better stay away from her!" Lisa ranted, leaving Lily speechless.

Sure, Rachel liked to gossip, but Lisa lost Charles because of her own vanity. Could she really blame anyone else?

Meanwhile, another roommate, Jane, asked Rachel, "Rachel, what's going on with you and Lisa? Are you two fighting?"

"Don't even mention Lisa. That two-faced witch looks down on everyone and blames me for her own screw-ups. I tried to help her, and she blames me? I'm done with her. Jane, after this summer, I'm not coming back to the dorm. Seeing Lisa just pisses me off!" Rachel snapped.

Charles glanced at the audience and saw a bunch of familiar faces scattered around. There was Lisa, Rachel, Lily, Pamela, and even Jessica and Lori.

"Jessica, this Charles guy seems pretty popular at your school. I noticed a lot of people know him!" Lori said, holding Jessica's hand, surprised as she saw Charles enter.

"Yeah, Charles is kind of a big deal. He's super talented. You know that background music you've been using lately? The piano pieces by the Piano Prince? That's all Charles!"

"Wow, the Piano Prince is really him?"

"Yep, it was actually my birthday that day, and Charles played a piece just for me. I didn't expect him to be so good!" Jessica said, beaming with pride.

"Jessica, I'm so jealous. Charles is not only handsome, but he's also the Piano Prince, the Basketball Godfather, and the Running Man. He even gave you the world's most expensive piano worth seventy-seven million dollars and bought you a mansion. He gifted you millions during your live streams. Oh my God, this guy is perfect. I wish I had a boyfriend like that!" Lori said, full of envy.

She used to look down on Charles, thinking he was a thug. But after learning more about him through Jessica, her opinion changed completely! Especially the seventy-seven million dollar crystal piano left her in awe. She wondered if she'd ever find a guy who'd treat her like Charles treated Jessica.

Meanwhile, on the track.

"Charles, this time, I won't lose to you again!" Leo muttered, clenching his fists, his eyes full of determination. He did his warm-up exercises, never taking his eyes off Charles.

For weeks, Leo had been training hard for today's race, and he felt particularly good today, like he was pumped with adrenaline.

Since he was a kid, Leo had never lost a sprint race. He was the sprint champion in middle school and high school, and now he was the university track team captain. No one on the School of Physical Education's track team could outrun him! His speed was legendary, earning him the nickname "Son of the Wind" from many girls.

Last time, Leo lost to Charles in a sprint race, but he always thought it was just a fluke.

A sprinter's performance could vary a lot depending on their condition. For instance, Leo could run under 10.3 seconds when he was in top shape, but it might take him 11 seconds on a bad day. That difference was huge, but even his slower times met the state-level athlete standard and could qualify him for the national first-level athlete assessment.

Leo's best time was 10.12 seconds for 100 meters, which once broke the school record and gave him a shot at the national team. He got distracted by women, though, and his performance dipped. But lately, he felt like he was back in peak form.

Even though Coach Young strongly recommended Charles to represent Lacus Magnus University in the state league, Leo still had a chance. If he could beat Charles in today's race, even Coach Young would have to acknowledge his strength. In sports, everything was about proving yourself.

Just as Leo was psyching himself up to beat Charles, a girl in the audience screamed, "Charles, I love you! Charles, go for it! Charles, you're the best!" Her voice was so loud, she almost jumped out of her seat.

Leo squinted and saw it was Emily. Emily was cheering for Charles and even declared her love for him? Leo's face darkened.

His ex-girlfriend was cheering for another guy and confessing her love right in front of him. How could he stand that? Not only Emily, but even Alice had been charmed by Charles and blocked Leo for him. Leo felt he couldn't take it anymore. If he did, he'd look weak. He had to redeem himself!

Hearing Emily's scream, Charles frowned.

Could she keep it down? Sure, he was great, but her loud confession was making things awkward with other girls. What would Jessica think? Emily was really putting him in a tough spot!

Sure enough, Jessica frowned when she heard Emily's scream.

"Charles, I love you, you're the best, go for it!" Pamela shouted too, not afraid of causing a scene.

"Charles, I'm the one who truly loves you. You have to believe me; they don't really love you!" Lisa chimed in.

Just as Lisa finished, Alice and Snow walked into the school field one after the other. Charles was stunned to see them together.

What was going on? How did Alice and Snow end up together? And they must have heard all those confessions. Jessica was watching too!

'Oh my God! Please stop joking!' This was the only thought in Charles' mind.

Alice and Snow's arrival instantly caught the attention of many students. They were stunning, with looks, figures, and vibes almost rivaling Roxy. But Charles was starting to feel really uneasy!
