Chapter 190 How Could It Be Such a Coincidence
When a girl asks you out, you're stoked. But when a bunch of girls hit you up at the same time, it gets kinda crazy.
Charles mulled it over. He'd hung out with Alice yesterday, and he did promise Snow he'd swing by KoiTech Inc.
Since he had to pick, Charles leaned towards Snow.
He started typing a message to Alice: [What's so tough about collecting rent? It's just grabbing cash. You've got people for that. Just take the money!]
Then he shot a quick reply to Snow: [Okay!]
Alice: [But I wanna be with you!]
Charles: [Chill, I got stuff to do today!]
Alice: [Alright then.]
Snow: [Meet me at the back gate of the school, and we'll head out together!]
Charles: [Cool, see you in ten!]
After texting Snow, Charles wrapped up his chats with the other girls, saying he had plans.
Seeing the growing list of girls in his Facebook messages, he wondered if he should get more phones or make more accounts.
Better safe than sorry, right?
But after thinking it over, he decided against it.
Making extra accounts or using burner phones just screamed guilty.
And girls these days were sharp.
A lot of them, when snooping through their boyfriend's phone, would check shopping records on Amazon, Wish, and other big sites, plus payment records.
Some bolder ones would even peek at your browsing history, Twitter searches, ride-hailing records, and stuff like that.
With all that, they could easily piece together your daily moves.
If you bought something sketchy, spent money where you shouldn't, or went somewhere shady, you'd get busted.
A player, no matter how slick, would eventually get caught.
But Charles was different.
He thought those tricks were beneath him.
And Charles had nothing to feel guilty about, 'cause he didn't even have an official girlfriend.
'If you wanna check my phone, then let me ask, are you my girlfriend? What's our relationship?
I'm just openly spending money on girls. If you don't like it, I can stop spending on you!' That was Charles' mindset.
Only low-level players sneak around, and Charles wanted to be an upfront and honest playboy.
Around 9:30.
Charles rolled up to the back gate of the school, and Snow came out from Harmony Gardens.
After linking up, they grabbed a cab and headed to KoiTech Inc. together.
In the car.
Snow made a call. "Yeah, boss! Mr. Smoke's in the car. We should be at the company around ten! Okay, boss, I'll be careful!"
After hanging up, Snow seemed way calmer today, not as hyped as yesterday.
She also started keeping a bit of distance from Charles on purpose.
After heading back last night, Snow suddenly realized she might've gone a bit overboard!
Hugging Charles in public and even going to the boys' dorm to wash his underwear?
Sure, it was out of gratitude, but those are couple things.
But were she and Charles a couple?
Did she really want to go back on her word and compete with Jessica for Charles?
Could she handle Charles having other women around?
Not just Jessica, but also a celeb named Grace, and even Mayor Hawkins' daughter had a thing for Charles.
And Charles himself wasn't exactly Mr. Honest.
Could she deal with all that?
Clearly, she couldn't!
Since she couldn't, she should cut off these unrealistic thoughts!
She couldn't let her crush on Charles turn her into a backstabbing, untrustworthy person!
So today, she started acting cold towards Charles.
Charles, of course, noticed Snow's distance.
To be real, a girl's hot-and-cold attitude can be tough to handle.
Usually, only top-tier players pull that move!
They'd crush a guy's confidence, turning players into simps.
If it was back in the day and a campus princess threw herself at him one day and acted cold the next, Charles would've had a hard time dealing with it.
But now?
He didn't bite.
He stayed chill, indifferent.
He didn't need her.
He wasn't looking to catch feelings fast anyway.
Slower was better.
Slower meant more chances to spend Special Funds.
So far, he hadn't spent much on Snow!
Half an hour later.
Around ten, the cab stopped.
Charles hadn't paid attention to the route, and when he got out, the place looked familiar.
"Get out, Charles, we're here!"
"Your company isn't in this building, is it?" Charles pointed to the building in front of him, a bit confused.
He really didn't see this coming.
Snow's KoiTech Inc. was actually in the Gold Trade Building!
How could this be?
There were so many office buildings in Seattle. Why was her company in the Gold Trade Building?
Charles frowned.
He looked around to make sure he didn't see Alice, then he got out of the car.
"What floor is your company on?"
"The 39th floor!" Snow replied.
"Okay, let's go in. Give me your mask!"
Because of her looks, Snow was used to wearing a mask when going out.
"Why do you need my mask?"
"Because I didn't bring one!" Charles said confidently.
Charles took Snow's mask and headed straight to the 39th floor, not wanting too many people to recognize him.
About a minute later.
The elevator door opened, and they reached the 39th floor!
As soon as Charles stepped out of the elevator, a familiar figure appeared.
"Charles, didn't you say you didn't want to come collect rent with me? Didn't you say you had something to do? You...?" Alice glanced at Snow beside him.
