Chapter 212 Advancement Match

Grace had suddenly become the talk of the town, gaining super popular!

From being misunderstood to being forgiven, from being a scandal-ridden artist to proving her innocence, this whole thing had shaken up the entire entertainment industry, and Grace was definitely going to gain a ton of fans!

But, of course, her popularity would eventually fade. To keep it up, or even go further, she had to rely on her talent.

As an actress, just doing publicity stunts wasn't enough; the real deal was whether she could deliver a great performance to the audience.

"Holy crap, Grace is from Seattle! I heard she's holding a press conference in three days at the Seattle Sports Arena. That's like, only two miles from our school!" Robert suddenly shouted, all excited.

He was thrilled to find out he was so close to his favorite celebrity!

"Really? At the Seattle Sports Arena? Holy crap, we need to get tickets fast, or we won't get in!" Tom said, quickly pulling out his phone.

"I've never seen a celebrity in person before; I can't miss this. Tom, get me a ticket too!" Jesse chimed in.

They were all super hyped about the press conference in a few days!

With Grace's current popularity, the Seattle Sports Arena was going to be packed in three days.

"Charles, do you want a ticket? We can buy four and go see the celebrity together," Tom said.

"No need, Grace is my mistress. I can see her anytime; I don't need tickets." Charles shrugged.

Hearing this, they all rolled their eyes. "Charles, I admit you've been pretty impressive lately. I might believe you if you said you hooked up with Snow, but saying Grace is your mistress is a bit much!"

Charles chuckled, "You don't believe me? Do you think I can get Grace to come to our room with just one call?"

"Of course I don't. Charles, I'm not bragging, but if you can really get Grace to come to our dorm, I'll kneel down and call you boss!" Jesse said confidently.

"You said it!" Charles sneered. Just as he was about to call Grace, his phone rang. It was his mentor.

"Charles, what's going on? Didn't I tell you to train with the track team this week? Why did Coach Young and Coach Kim report that you haven't shown up for practice?"

"Mentor, I've been a bit busy starting a business lately, and it's almost summer break. If I join the track team now, I won't even train for two days. How about we talk about it next semester?" Charles explained.

"What's this business you're starting? Trying to become an internet celebrity? Alright, stop getting distracted. There's an official track meet at 2 PM today. School leaders will be there, and the league qualification spots are on the line. Coach Young has called me several times. You usually skip practice, but you have to show up today. Do it as a favor to me, okay?"

"Alright!" Charles thought for a moment and decided to give his mentor some respect.

The mentor had been with them for three years. Although he was usually lenient and let them do as they pleased, he was actually quite loyal and didn't make things difficult for them.

Even though his tone was a bit harsh, he didn't have the typical teacher's attitude!

Thinking about graduating next year, all the classmates would go for internships next semester.

So after thinking for a moment, Charles decided to make the most of the last bit of his student days.

"Charles, who was that?" Jesse asked.

"It was William. He wants me to participate in a track meet. It's already past one o'clock?" Charles looked at the time in surprise.

The mentor was becoming more unreliable! Couldn't he have notified Charles a day or a few hours earlier?

Of course, Charles didn't know that William had actually tagged him in the class group chat yesterday, but Charles had been too busy.

Charles couldn't even respond to Facebook messages, let alone check the class group chat.

It wasn't until the meet was about to start that William realized Charles wasn't there, so he quickly made a call to Charles.

"The mentor's timing is impeccable. Looks like we won't be seeing Grace today?" Robert said.

"Charles was just bragging; don't take it seriously. But I heard there's an important track meet at school today. This meet determines the state athlete spots. Whoever wins first place will have the chance to represent our school in the state league. If they advance in the state league, they can participate in the national competition! If they advance in the national competition, they can participate in international competitions and bring honor to the country!" Jesse explained in detail as he scrutinized Charles for a few moments.

Although the video of the running hero made Charles an internet sensation, it was somewhat exaggerated by those bloggers.

And that video wasn't from an official competition, so it didn't receive any authoritative recognition.

Moreover, Charles wasn't a contestant last time. His appearance was just an accident.

Now that the hype had died down, people didn't really care anymore.
