Chapter 129 Alfonso, The Campus Prince
"Charles, you can't keep going like this. No matter how perfect your excuses or plans are, the truth will come out eventually. And when it does, whether it's with Alice or someone else, you'll end up hurting them and regretting it," Daniel said, prompting Charles to reflect deeply.
'I never think about it that far ahead. Whether the girl is a gold digger or amazing, I'd chase after them first. Once they are hooked, I’d flip the script, and that is that. I spend money, they do stuff for me. Simple transaction.
But emotions complicate things. Can I really treat Alice or Jessica like that? Can I do that to every girl I meet? Can I just walk away after messing with their emotions? No, I can't. Every guy has a possessive streak, and I'm no different. Plus, I'm greedy. I want them all.
But none of the girls I've met are as forgiving as the ones in novels. They won't overlook my cheating, let alone introduce their friends to me. Those plots only exist in books. In real life, girls are jealous and possessive. Even a girl who likes you 95% will drop you if she finds out you're seeing someone else. What should I do? Do I need to make them love me 100% to keep them loyal?' Charles thought, having an epiphany.
Charles had an epiphany. The system's 95-point affection level was just a threshold. True Role Reversal needed a full 100 points. He'd reversed many girls' roles, but none had hit 100, with the highest being 96. Getting to 100 was way harder than 95.
It was like an exam. Scoring 70 was easy. 80 was a bit tough. 90 was hard. 95 was super hard. 100 seemed impossible, like some questions that were completely out of the syllabus.
With this clarity, Charles decided to change his approach. For his next targets, he'd split them into two groups. The first group would be the ordinary targets. He'd treat them as doormats. He'd reverse their roles, push their affection to 95, claim the system's reward, and then vanish. Simple and effective.
The second group, however, consisted of the ones he genuinely liked. For them, he was willing to go the extra mile, even if it cost him millions. These were his key targets
For key targets, 95 points of affection was just the start. If he didn't hit 100, the job wasn't done.
"Got it. I'll take care of it," Charles said after a pause, talking to Daniel on the phone.
"Good. Just don't let the Prom Queen down. If the guys in our class find out, they'll come after you with knives!" Daniel sighed.
'Why is life so unfair? Some jerks juggle multiple high-quality girlfriends, while good guys stay single for years. Society's a mess. Until you succeed, no one cares about your feelings,' he thought.
After hanging up, Charles got back to Lacus Magnus University around 9 AM. He parked in the underground lot near the school, keeping a low profile. He never drove his sports car onto campus.
As he walked past the gate, a flashy luxury sports car sped by, on par with Gordon's Koenigsegg.
"Holy crap, this car is even flashier than the Lamborghini Aventador I saw before!" someone exclaimed.
"Pagani Huayra? That's nearly a five-million-dollar car!" another student chimed in, clearly impressed.
"Isn't that Alfonso? The top Campus Prince of Lacus Magnus University. I knew his family was rich, but a Pagani? Wow."
"He's so handsome!" a girl gushed.
The luxury car zoomed past Charles at nearly 40 mph, forcing him to step aside quickly to avoid getting hit.
"Do you even know how to walk? Looking for trouble?" the driver cursed and flipped him off before speeding away.
Charles was furious. 'You're driving recklessly on campus and I'm the one looking for trouble?'
"Hey, who's the guy driving the Pagani Huayra?" Charles asked the girl.
"You don't know Alfonso? The top Campus Prince? Seriously?" she scoffed.
Charles genuinely hadn't heard of him. He only paid attention to the Prom Queen, not the Campus Prince. 'I'm not gay. Why would I care about the Campus Prince?'
"Fine, I'll tell you since you look clueless. Alfonso is the second son of the owner of Sullivan Group, a family worth billions. He's 6'1", handsome, and talented in basketball, guitar, and more. His brother Tony Sullivan, at just thirty, is already a distinguished young leader. Under Tony's leadership, the Sullivan Group could hit tens of billions. Alfonso is basically the top Campus Prince and male idol of our school, got it?" the girl said with a smirk.
"That's it?"
