Chapter 193 Hypocrisy

"One hundred and fifty million dollars?" Charles raised an eyebrow.

Amanda felt a bit uneasy. Did Mr. Smoke think the price was too steep?

But she had mad faith in her team's new AI tech. She figured it was worth every penny of that $150 million.

The only thing was, KoiApp's profits weren't exactly clear-cut yet, so she didn't want to push her luck with a high price.

"Mr. Smoke, what's your take?"

"Honestly? Why beat around the bush over $150 million? Just spit it out."

"Just $150 million?" Amanda was puzzled.

"Tell you what, I'll drop $150 million and won't screw you over. I'll just take 49% of KoiApp. Deal?"

"Is this for real?" Amanda totally floored.

In all her years in business, she'd seen plenty of sharp-dressed sharks who'd fight over a measly 1% of shares.

They were all about the money and would break deals without blinking.

But Mr. Smoke was talking like he was running a charity!

KoiApp's market value was $150 million, and he was willing to drop $150 million for just 49% of the shares. That was like valuing KoiApp at $300 million!

Doubling the price on the spot.

The kicker was, 49% was less than half, meaning he was cool with not having control of the company, leaving Amanda in charge at Koi Tech.

That was straight-up charity! "Mr. Smoke, any other strings attached?" Amanda adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses, playing it smart.

"Yeah, just one. I need you to secretly transfer these shares to Snow's name."

"Got it, Mr. Smoke. Here's to a great partnership!"

"Here's to a great partnership!"

Amanda and Charles shook hands, grinning.

Charles had a simple plan.

Snow's favorability was already at 80 points, and he had no clue when it might hit 95.

Dropping $150 million without Snow knowing, just in case her favorability hit the magic number, would mean a $15 million rebate from the system.

And even if it didn't hit 95, no biggie.

The system's cap was a quadrillion dollars, and he'd only burned through less than $770 million so far. Time to find more ways to spend.

As for how to get Snow 49% of KoiApp without her knowing, that was Amanda's problem.

Just then.

Snow knocked and walked in, carrying two cups of coffee.

"Mr. Green, here's your coffee. Mr. Smoke, this one's for you!"

"Thanks, Snow. First, organize the docs, then print out the share transfer contract!" Amanda ordered.

Snow nodded. Boss's orders were top priority.

Actually, the share contract was already prepped, just not finalized in the last funding round.

Twenty minutes later.

Charles strolled out of Amanda's office.

"Charles, how'd it go with the boss?" Snow asked, curious as soon as he stepped out.

"Not bad. Keep grinding. I got big hopes for KoiApp. With your skills, you'll probably snag a promotion and a raise soon!"

"I haven't really thought about promotions and raises. I just graduated. What's your real game plan?" Snow asked, suddenly serious.

"What plan?"

"That Alice outside, don't think I can't see what's going on with you two. I'm asking, between Alice and Jessica, who are you gonna pick? Jessica's genuinely into you!" Snow's words hinted at her own buried feelings for Charles.

Even though this guy was probably the only dude she didn't dislike.

But he was a total player.

Logic told her to steer clear of Charles, but deep down, she wanted to get closer.

But now, logic was winning.

If Charles ended up with Jessica, she'd give her blessing.

"Why should I choose? I want both!"

"You want both?"

"Yeah, why not?"

Hearing Charles's answer, Snow was floored.

She knew Charles was a player, but she didn't expect him to say it so bluntly.

But somehow, even though Charles was a player, she didn't feel disgusted.

Maybe it was because Charles was more upfront compared to those fake nice guys.

He just straight-up told her he wanted both!

If she was unhappy, tough luck.

"You really are something. You can even say such beastly things. I can't believe I once thought..."

"Thought what? You already knew I was a player. You didn't just meet me yesterday. Even so, you still threw yourself at me at school yesterday and even went to the boys' dorm to wash my underwear! I think you're pretty conflicted too. If you really like me, why don't you admit it openly? Why ask me to choose between Jessica and Alice?

Why not ask if I'd choose you?

And I don't think you're a saint either. If you were really trying to protect Jessica, you shouldn't have come on to me like that yesterday. I think I'm more straightforward in matters of the heart. You have no right to lecture me!" After saying this, Charles turned and walked away without looking back.

Scolding the campus princess to her face felt incredibly satisfying!

However, Charles's words made Snow think deeply.

It hit her soul directly, tearing off her last piece of dignity!

In this materialistic and money-driven world, everyone had some selfishness and would consider issues from their own perspective.

No one was a saint!

Charles wasn't, and neither was Snow.

Charles's words were basically calling Snow a hypocrite!

No one had ever said that before, and Snow hadn't realized it either.

But at this moment, she suddenly couldn't argue against it.

She was quite hypocritical.

She didn't dare to face her true feelings.

She didn't even have the courage to fight for it.

They said she was cold and arrogant.

But actually, she was a bit insecure.

"Am I really that hypocritical?

So, I've always been this kind of person. I'm not as blunt as Charles. I got no right to school him!" Snow felt a bit lost.

"Snow, sign this document!"
