Chapter 201 How Can Feelings Endure

After this whole mess, Manager Baker couldn't stop saying sorry to Alice.

In the end, he even handed over the store's only lifetime supreme VIP diamond card, and Alice decided to let it slide.

Guessed girls could be soft-hearted sometimes.

Charles kept quiet the whole time, letting Alice call the shots.

After all, she owned the Gold Trade Building.

"Charles, I forgave him. You cool with that?" Alice asked, a bit nervous.

"Nah, I ain't mad. Not worth it over someone like him!"

"Charles, that dude who ran off might come back with backup. Maybe we should bounce and eat somewhere else," Daniel suggested.

"Chill, man. Alice is here to watch my back. She owns the Gold Trade Building and can call in a bunch of security guards. What do I gotta worry about?"

Daniel was kinda shocked. He knew Alice's family had Bentleys from the last high school reunion, but owning a whole building? That was next level.

Alice was even more of a big deal than he thought.

A rich and gorgeous woman, and Charles snagged her? And he still went to the movies with another chick? What a player!

"Alright, if you're not sweating it, I won't either. Let's grub!" Daniel said.

They had their barbecue in a kinda weird vibe. Alice and April barely ate.

Girls usually don't eat much, especially the slim ones.

Daniel was distracted, and only Charles was chowing down like it was his last meal.

While everyone else was stressing, he was chill as a cucumber.

After the barbecue, Alice and April planned to head back to school.

Meanwhile...

Ryan had been hanging out downstairs at the Gold Trade Building for over an hour.

As time went by, more and more luxury cars rolled up, blocking the entrance. Lambos, Maseratis, Porsche 911s, Bentleys, McLarens, Rolls-Royces, Ferraris, Maybachs—you name it, they were all there.

It was a wild scene, and people were snapping pics left and right.

Then, a badass Koenigsegg pulled up, and Ryan rushed over. "Gordon, finally!"

"Ryan, what's the deal? Stirring up trouble already?" Gordon frowned.

"Trouble? I got my ass kicked. Look at my face. That dude was way too cocky!"

"Who'd dare slap Mr. Turner?" Whitey joked.

"That guy right there. Guys, mess him up for me today!" Ryan said, just as Charles walked out of the Gold Trade Building with Alice, April, and Daniel.

Charles stepped out and saw a bunch of familiar faces.

What a small world!

Charles recognized most of the folks Ryan had called over. Out of the twenty or so people, at least ten were part of the Seattle second-gen crew, and more than eighty percent had seen Charles at the charity banquet that day.

"Holy crap, Ryan, you sure it was him who hit you?"

"How could I be wrong? Come on, let's handle this. If anything goes down, I'll take the heat!" Ryan waved his hand, thinking he could rally everyone. "Dude, I won't make it tough for you. Just kneel down and apologize, and I'll think about giving you a fresh start!"

As soon as Ryan finished talking, someone smacked him on the back of the head. "Holy crap, are you nuts?"

"Whitey, what the hell? Aren't we buddies?" Ryan was confused.

What the hell was going on?

"Who said we're buddies? Get lost. Do you even know who you messed with?"

"Ryan, you idiot, hurry up and apologize to Mr. Smoke. You dared to mess with Mr. Smoke?" Gordon also scolded.

"Hello, Mr. Smoke!" Then, this group of rich second-gens greeted Charles like he was their boss, with mad respect.

Since that charity banquet, rumors had been flying that Mr. Smoke was the heir to some secretive family.

Just yesterday, someone spilled that Mr. Smoke had dropped four hundred million dollars to buy a building from the Nguyen Family and gave it to a girl!

It blew up the whole second-gen circle.

Such power made everyone more convinced that Mr. Smoke was indeed the heir to a hidden family.

So how the hell did Ryan dare to pick a fight with Mr. Smoke?

At this moment, Charles stood with one hand behind his back, staring at Ryan without saying a word.

The vibe was suffocating.

The whole scene went dead silent.

Amidst the group of rich kids, Charles's gaze had a king's disdain.

"Mr. Smoke? He's Mr. Smoke?" Ryan was almost scared stiff, feeling his legs go weak.

Recently, even though he wasn't in Seattle, he had heard of Mr. Smoke.

There were rumors in the circle that this mysterious Mr. Smoke was the heir of a hidden family.

What rotten luck! "Mr. Turner, are you sure you want me to kneel and apologize?" Charles asked calmly.

"It's all a big misunderstanding. I'd never ask Mr. Smoke to kneel. I'm sorry!"

"Is it just a misunderstanding? What do you mean by bringing people to block me?"

"I..." Ryan deeply regretted his actions.

He knew the rules of the circle. If he pissed off the most powerful leader in the circle, he wouldn't be able to hang with them anymore!

He'd be shunned, and even his family's business would take a hit!

"You kneel and apologize, and I'll give you a fresh start. Mr. Turner, what do you think?" As soon as Charles finished speaking, Ryan's face changed immediately.

He was already thirty years old with a reputation. Asking him to kneel in public, how could he handle that?
