Chapter 188 What's the Use of Crying

Grace felt like she was gonna be wronged forever, man!

She blew fifteen million bucks thinking she could rally a bunch of victimized artists to finally take down Mr. Lee.

But guess what?

Not only did she fail to nail Mr. Lee, but she also got hit with even more insults and abuse.

Money down the drain, and Olivia got caught up in the mess because of her!

This time, she was seriously floored by Mr. Lee's clout.

So many familiar faces, so many TV stars, all backing Mr. Lee!

In the end, she still bombed.

Throwing more money at it was pointless now, and even a hundred million wouldn't clear her name.

For the first time, she felt like a total idiot.

If she wasn't such a fool, how could she have been tricked by her agent into that hotel, letting reporters snap her with some rich kid in the room?

If she wasn't such a fool, how could she have been so easily betrayed?

If it weren't for Charles's support, she felt like a complete loser.

Besides being good-looking, she was worthless.

Who else in the entertainment biz would blow fifteen million bucks to trash their own rep?

After mulling it over, Grace shot a message to Olivia.

[Sending the remaining $10M, no backing out. Promise still stands!!]

After hitting send, Grace transferred the rest of the cash.

She wanted to cry, but who could she talk to about the crap she was going through?

Parents?

Relatives?

Friends?

This past year, her parents often chewed her out and mocked her. Even her younger brother looked down on her, treating her like some tradable commodity.

Family was long gone!

A year ago, when she was outed as a mistress, all those relatives who used to suck up to her couldn't wait to kick her when she was down, and they had long cut ties!

Friends?

Who would be friends with a disgraced mistress who owed 4.6 million in penalty fees?

Loneliness and abandonment, everyone was calling for her downfall.

No one cared for her, loved her, or had her back.

Except for Charles.

Only this guy who wanted her to be his mistress!

At nine in the morning.

Grace called Charles.

In the boys' dorm room 503, Charles was woken up by his ringing phone.

He had slept like a log last night.

Probably because he hadn't slept for two days and nights, he was wiped out.

After dropping Snow home, Charles crashed as soon as he got back to the dorm.

He slept until nine in the morning when his phone rang.

"Damn it! Who the hell is messing with my sleep!" Charles cursed but still picked up the phone.

As soon as he answered, ready to curse, he suddenly heard a girl sobbing.

Grace calling?

And crying?

"What's up?" Charles asked. He actually hated it when girls cried.

"Charles, am I really stupid?"

"Yeah, you're pretty stupid. Don't you know that being a mistress means you should behave yourself? Who said you could call me? Just text if you need something." Charles said irritably.

So what if a girl was crying? He wasn't gonna comfort her!

"I get it!"

"Who messed with you? Haven't you sorted things out yet?"

Even though Charles was grumpy from just waking up, he still asked with some concern.

But this question made Grace cry even harder!

"Enough, I'll handle it. What's the use of crying!" Charles scolded and then hung up the phone.
