Chapter 030: Leo's Doubts
"Hey, which college are you from?"
"I'm from the School of Arts!"
"What?"
The coach looked bewildered.
A student from the School of Arts? Aren't they all bookworms? How did one of them just crush a bunch of jocks from the School of Physical Education on a professional track field?
It sounded a bit surreal.
'Are you sure you're not just showing off?'
"Charles, it's you?"
Leo's face suddenly turned a bit sour.
He had fought with Charles before.
They had disliked each other for a long time.
To Leo, Charles was just an incredibly annoying troublemaker.
Back in high school, he wanted to pursue Alice, but Charles always got in the way.
'You don't have the guts to pursue her yourself, but you won't let me either?
'What’s your deal?
'Are you out of your mind?' Leo had always thought.
Once, LLeo set up a plan to play the hero and rescue Alice.
He got two friends from outside school to block Alice on her way home after school.
He planned to jump out at the critical moment to save Alice and win her heart.
But who would have thought, at the crucial moment, Charles jumped out.
Charles had been tailing Alice and intercepted the two friends before Leo could.
So they had no choice but to beat him up.
Who knew this guy not only learn his lesson but later on, he followed Alice home every day?
Because of Charles's interference, Leo's plan to rescue Alice failed miserably.
By graduation, Leo still hadn’t won Alice’s heart.
It became his biggest regret!
So, he hated Charles deeply.
If you don't have the guts to confess, why stop others from pursuing love?
"Leo, you know this student. Perfect, even though this student is from the School of Arts, there's no rule saying they can't join the track team! As long as you agree to join the track team, I'll make an exception and give you the only recommendation slot we have!
"Then you can represent our school in the state-level track meet, and soon you'll stand out and join the national team.
"With your talent, it won't be long before you can compete in the international Olympics and even have a chance to win an Olympic gold medal, bringing glory to the country!"
The coach excitedly described.
The explosiveness Charles just displayed was incredible!
He was definitely the most talented prospect the coach had seen in his career.
He hadn't undergone any professional training, yet he could already run so fast!
What if he received professional training?
"Coach, didn't you say you would give the state recommendation slot to me?" Leo said, looking puzzled..
"Leo, I understand how you feel. Although you're excellent, securing this spot might not guarantee that you can represent our school and win the provincial championship. But this student is different. You saw his explosive power just now, right? He's much stronger than you. I can guarantee that if he competes, he'll definitely win the state championship and surely become a national elite athlete!"
Becoming a national elite athlete was a big deal.
It was a level higher than a national first-class athlete.
And today's competition was merely to select state-level athletes.
The difference between the two is like night and day.
If today's sudden genius were someone else, it wouldn't matter.
But this person happened to be Charles.
The person he once looked down on as a loser had just beaten him in his proudest field.
