Chapter 182 Whatever You Say Is Wrong

Charles let out a big ol' sigh of relief!

"Yeah, I think I heard something about that, but honestly, I don't really keep up with that kind of gossip," Charles said, sounding all sincere and stuff.

He wasn't faking it either; dude really didn't care about that kind of drama.

Chubby Billy looked at Charles like he was some kind of hero, practically worshipping the guy!

Mr. Smoke was a total legend, and his acting skills? Next level, man!

At the charity shindig last night, everyone knew it was Mr. Smoke backing Grace up when she called out that big-shot director!

The whole mess in the entertainment world, with all those actresses spilling the tea about the casting couch? Yeah, that was all Mr. Smoke's doing, pulling the strings from behind the scenes!

But here he was, in front of another girl, acting like he didn't have a clue? Genius!

Dinner wrapped up around 7:30 PM.

Lloyd and Billy had some other plans, but Charles bailed!

Mostly 'cause Alice was there, and some of their plans weren't exactly PG-13!

Lucky for them, there was a subway station right by the restaurant.

Charles decided to hop on the subway to get Alice back to school!

He'd had a few glasses of red wine, so he casually put his arm around Alice's shoulder!

Not that he was tipsy; he just wanted to get a little closer to Alice.

Her fresh, natural scent had him feeling pretty darn good.

Once they were on the subway, every dude in the car was checking out Alice, and even the girls were sneaking peeks!

Alice leaned on Charles's shoulder, looking all sweet, and said, "Charles, why are you taking the subway with me today? Don't you usually drive your Ferrari?"

"Driving the Ferrari gets old. When I'm with you, taking the subway or the bus is way more fun. I like being around people; it makes me feel more alive!"

"Douchebag!" a girl muttered under her breath, adjusting her glasses, while others gave him looks of pure disdain.

Charles's excuse was so lame! A guy with a Ferrari who didn't wanna drive it? Yeah, right. He probably rented it.

Feeling "connected to life"? More like he couldn't afford the rental anymore.

Since when did squeezing into the subway and bus make you feel alive?

This guy was clearly playing a naive girl.

Anyone with half a brain wouldn't buy his BS.

But what really blew everyone's minds was that this gorgeous girl actually believed him!

"Charles, I think taking the subway is fun too. Thanks for riding with me. Today feels extra special!" Alice said.

A few guys almost choked on their own spit!

Since when did riding the subway become special?

Didn't girls these days want a boyfriend with a car, a house, and some cash in the bank?

But this knockout was actually grateful?

Ten minutes later, Charles and Alice got off the train, leaving a bunch of dudes questioning their life choices!

By 8 PM, Charles had dropped Alice off at Lindell Academy.

Now, let's rewind to around 2 PM.

Snow woke up in the police station and immediately asked about Charles, only to be told he had left around noon.

She wanted to call him, but then she remembered she didn't have his number, not even his Facebook.

She'd always kinda disliked Charles, so adding him was a no-go!

Plus, Charles never asked for her Facebook either!

After thinking it over, she started asking the cops for Charles's contact info.

With all the drama that went down, the police had to have his number!

But another female officer, who was also pretty cute, shut her down!

She said no way, citing privacy rules!

Snow's attempt to get Charles's info made Nancy even more sure that Charles was a stand-up guy.

If he had any bad intentions, he would've swapped contact info with such a pretty girl in the same car, right?

This just proved Charles was telling the truth; he and Snow really weren't close.

Snow left the police station feeling pretty bummed.

Then she thought of Jessica.

Jessica had to have Charles's contact info.

But thinking of Jessica made Snow even more conflicted!

She remembered telling Jessica she'd never like Charles and wouldn't compete with her for him!

Was she gonna go back on her word?

She couldn't be that shady!

But she felt like she was really falling for Charles!

It was a mess!

She didn't want to compete with Jessica for Charles, nor did she want to be two-faced.

Last night, she even thought about telling Jessica that Charles bought a $46 million necklace for Grace, to make Jessica stay away from that douchebag Charles!

But now, she couldn't do it.

First, she couldn't be ungrateful; Charles saved her life. If she turned around and told Jessica about Charles's flirting at the charity dinner, it would be super ungrateful and petty!

Second, she had feelings for Charles herself, so how could she explain that?

Third, her boss's task wasn't done yet, and Charles was her biggest client. She couldn't betray him!

But in some ways, she felt it was wrong to keep it from Jessica.

It was a total conflict!

It felt like everything she did and said was wrong.
