Chapter 240 Bringing Humiliation Upon Oneself
"Hey, let's add each other on Facebook, and I'll invite you to the group chat!" Lori said with a big smile.
"Sure thing!" Roxy pulled out her phone, and they swapped contact info.
Just then, Thaddeus strolled over.
Over the years, he'd seen plenty of pretty nurses, but seeing five stunners at once still caught him off guard.
Each of these girls was gorgeous and classy, and he was really into them. So, he decided to introduce himself. "Roxy, even though you're feeling better, I think you should still go to a proper hospital for a full check-up. It's for your own good! Also, ladies, here's my business card. If you ever feel unwell, you can reach out to me anytime!"
After that, Thaddeus started handing out his business cards to the other girls.
But it got awkward real quick when no one took them.
Thaddeus, an attending physician at Clinical Expert Hospital, had never been so disrespected.
Doctors were supposed to be respected, right?
For many girls, having a doctor as a partner was something to brag about.
Many young nurses at Clinical Expert Hospital liked him, but he wasn't into any of them.
Clearly, Alice and the others were not your average girls.
Even if they were before, after meeting Charles, they had become extraordinary.
Charles was just too impressive, and most girls who got to know him found other guys lacking!
Charles himself might not even realize that his reckless spending had unknowingly raised the standards of all his admirers, leading to their higher and higher expectations for their partners.
They knew Charles was a player who liked many girls at the same time, but when they compared Charles to other great guys, they still found Charles more outstanding.
"Dr. Kim, I don't know why you falsely accused Charles of practicing medicine without a license. I was just about to give you a piece of my mind, and you came over yourself? If you're so great, why be a doctor? Why not be a rich heir instead?" Lori started mocking him.
Even though Lori thought Charles was a jerk, this Dr. Kim was even worse, not as good as Charles!
Hearing Lori's words, Thaddeus was fuming. He didn't expect these beauties to be on Charles's side.
Weren't they just talking about how to deal with that jerk Charles?
So why were they mocking him for that jerk now?
Did they have any principles?
Thaddeus held back his anger and explained, "You must have misunderstood me. I wasn't targeting Charles. Rules are rules, and laws are laws. It's a fact that Charles was practicing medicine without a license. I'm just telling the truth!"
"So that's what you think. Do you want to see Roxy die? Would you be happy if she couldn't be saved? I think you're not fit to be a doctor. What's more important than life? You think rules are more important than life. Maybe you're a good law-abiding citizen, but you're not fit to be a doctor!" Lori kept scolding him, while Alice, Snow, Jessica and the others were casting dismissive glimpses at him, especially Roxy, who snorted and turned her eyes away.
"Whether I'm fit to be a doctor is not for you to decide. Roxy's case is an exception. The law prohibits unlicensed practice to prevent fraud," Thaddeus said.
"Alright, alright, don't lecture us. We don't want to hear it!"
"Yeah, I think you're the kind of doctor who harms people, with no respect for life!"
"I will go online. People will see right through you as I did. And no one will ask for your treatment when they go to the Clinical Expert Hospital!"
"Dr. Kim, I doubt your medical skills."
They kept talking, not giving Thaddeus a chance to respond.
Thaddeus goggled at the girls who was rounding on him, seething with rage that turned his face purple. At this moment, the onlookers started talking about him too. "Did this Thaddeus really come over here just to get mocked?"
"He's probably not here to treat patients but to chase girls. How could Clinical Expert Hospital have such a jerk?"
"I despise people like him the most!"
Hearing their chatter, Thaddeus felt super embarrassed, and he noticed that the two young nurses he brought along seemed to look at him differently. They used to admire him, but now their attitude had turned cold.
He was only thinking about one thing now. 'Charles, I won't let you get away with this!'
Meanwhile, Charles was in a police car, sitting next to Nancy in the back seat.
