Chapter 191 Be Careful, Snow
Man, what a mess! Charles felt like he was falling apart. Just his luck to bump into them!
But he couldn't freak out now. If he lost it, everything would go downhill.
In a surprise meet-up like this, keeping cool was the way to go.
"Alice, meet Snow, the ex-student council prez from Lacus Magnus University, now at KoiTech Inc.!" Charles said, then turned to Snow, "Snow, this is Alice, my high school buddy. She owns the Gold Trade Building. Yep, the whole thing!"
Snow was floored.
She didn't expect this tall, gorgeous, college-looking girl, who seemed barely in her twenties, to own a building!
She knew KoiTech Inc. rented the entire 39th floor of the Gold Trade Building, shelling out nearly $150,000 a year.
If just one year's rent was that steep, how much was the whole building worth? A crazy amount, for sure.
A rich and beautiful girl, and she was Charles' high school friend? Their relationship had to be something else!
This guy was such a player!
Snow gave Alice a once-over. "Hey, I'm Snow. Nice to meet you!"
"Hi!" Alice shook hands with Snow, but she looked a bit off!
Even though Charles acted all business-like, Alice still felt uneasy.
The guy she liked walked out of the elevator with another knockout who was also a college buddy. No way they were just classmates!
She knew rich guys could be players.
But Charles, even if he was a player, couldn't be so obvious about it!
He just gave her a building yesterday.
And today he was with another beauty, who worked in the same building.
What bugged Alice the most was that she had asked Charles to come collect rent with her today, but he bailed and was with another girl instead.
No matter how innocent their relationship was, she'd still feel overshadowed by another woman!
Charles' actions only made Alice feel worse, but she couldn't blow up!
Alice felt really bummed out.
This was a classic player move.
They thought as long as their excuse was solid and they were in the right, they could be confident and not worry about anything!
But girls don't play by those rules. They might not be able to do anything about it now, but that didn't mean they weren't suspicious.
"Charles, should I go in and let the boss know?" Snow suddenly seemed a bit smug.
Charles had it coming, for flirting around.
First Grace, then Jessica, and now Alice. She wanted to see how he'd explain this!
After saying that, Snow walked into the office.
As soon as she left, Charles moved close to Alice and whispered in her ear, "Alice, watch out for Snow!"
"Why?" Alice was puzzled, not getting what Charles meant.
"She's a known lesbian at our school, always going after pretty girls. Ask around if you don't believe me. You're so beautiful, I'm worried she might try to hit on you!"
"Really?" Alice was shocked!
She couldn't believe such a beautiful girl could be a lesbian!
If she really was into girls and not guys, then it was clear there was nothing between her and Charles. Lesbians would naturally be turned off by men.
"Charles, come in. My boss is waiting in the conference room!" Snow called out.
"Got it!" Charles replied, then turned to Alice, "I'm gonna discuss a project with their company. Let's grab lunch if you're free!"
"Sure!" Alice nodded, still deep in thought.
Actually, she had some classmates at Lacus Magnus University too, like this guy named Leo who once won the school's sprint championship in high school and had a crush on her.
He still hadn't given up, sending her messages every now and then.
Out of respect for their classmate bond, she hadn't blocked Leo.
After mulling it over, Alice called Leo.
Leo picked up quickly, sounding a bit excited.
He didn't expect his high school crush, Alice, to call him. "Hey! Alice, what's up? Everything okay? Just tell me!"
"Leo, I wanna ask you something. Do you know a girl named Snow at your school?" Alice asked.
"Oh! You mean Snow, the first Campus Princess of Lacus Magnus University. Hardly any guy at our school doesn't know her, but she graduated this year. Why are you asking about her, Alice?"
"Just curious. Does Snow have any psychological issues?" As soon as Alice said this, Leo started to imagine things.
Could the rumors be true?
Snow was really a lesbian who liked girls. For some reason, she met Alice and was drawn to her looks and charm, so this lesbian started pursuing Alice aggressively.
Now Alice felt an unusual vibe from Snow, so she called to ask about it.
This was definitely his chance to shine!
Thinking of this, Leo started spinning a tale, vividly describing, "Snow's had a rough life. You might not know, but she was normal in her early years. However, during a summer vacation in high school, she was drugged by a creep and locked in a dark basement for a month. During that month, she went through hell and almost lost her mind when she was rescued.
Although she got better later, she became super wary of all men.
Since then, she turned into a lesbian, only liking girls and not boys. Several girls at our school were influenced by her, and most of the student council members she promoted were girls!"
"Got it, thanks, Leo!" Alice thanked him.
"No problem. By the way, Alice, why are you asking about this?" Leo tried to steer the conversation to chat more with Alice.
"Charles told me about it. I guess I was overthinking it again. Charles really didn't lie to me. He and Snow have nothing going on. Gotta go, bye!"
"Wait!"
Alice had already hung up.
Leo stared at his phone in a daze, and suddenly imagined a scenario that made him collapse.
Charles, that jerk, was currently dating Alice and Snow at the same time. Then the two girls met unexpectedly, and he tried to cover it up by telling Alice that Snow was a lesbian.
Alice didn't know many people at Lacus Magnus University, and Leo happened to be one of them, so she called him to ask.
Then, unknowingly, he helped Charles clear things up.
Oh my god!
He actually helped Charles?
