Chapter 026: Try acting arrogant with me one more time
"What rank are you? Silver?"
"You don't get it. I'm really good at playing Yasuo. Just wait until I get fed; I can take on five by myself!"
Robert waved his hand dismissively.
He only played one champion, Yasuo.
Although he was very skilled with the champion, he often died because he was too careless.
He loved to take on two or three opponents at once and enjoyed making clutch plays.
In contrast to his honest and straightforward personality in real life, he was a quite different person in the game.
An hour later, Rachel arrived at the Internet café on a bicycle.
She was obviously dressed up today.
With light makeup, she looked elegant and not tacky.
An even more surprising detail was her attire - a schoolgirl uniform.
Short skirt, beautiful legs, a school vibe, and even a little hat.
She looked youthful and cute, yet also sexy.
Charles' dorm mates were all stunned.
"Wow, how did I not notice before? Rachel is really pretty!"
"Robert, you really did it. She even dressed up for you!"
"Rachel's a hidden gem. She used to have a bit of baby fat, but now that she's slimmed down, her looks and figure are no less than Lisa's!"
The dorm mates commented.
Robert seemed a bit nervous, almost blushing with shyness.
But he also felt quite proud at the moment.
After all, he was the one who invited her out.
"Hey, beautiful, how about adding me on Facebook?"
As soon as Rachel walked into the Internet café, a young man with a cigarette dangling from his mouth and a rogue demeanor blocked her way, asking for her contact information.
His gaze was bold, sweeping over Rachel's chest and legs several times.
"Sorry, I have an appointment with someone today." Rachel shook her head and refused.
"Don't go, beauty. Adding me on Facebook will only take a few minutes!"
"I don't want to. Please move aside!"
"Damn, acting all high and mighty. Dressed like that, you look like you're out here selling yourself. Who are you kidding?"
The rogue seemed unwilling to give up and even grabbed Rachel's arm.
"Hey, you damn bastard, who do you think you're messing with? Try to touch her again and see what happens!"
Robert suddenly stood up, his face filled with rage.
The girl he had invited out was being harassed right in front of him. How could he tolerate that?
Robert rushed over and kicked the rogue.
"You bastard, how dare you hit me"
The rogue was about to fight back when he saw three more people approaching behind Robert, clearly part of the same group.
Outnumbered four to one, the rogue stood no chance.
"So what if we hit you? Do you dare to mess with my buddy's girl? Are you looking for trouble?" Tom shouted menacingly.
"Fine, you win this time because you have more people!"
The rogue flicked away his cigarette and walked off, seemingly admitting defeat.
"Ha, I thought he was tough, but he's just a coward!"
"Robert, well done! You always seem so reserved, but you stepped up when it counted. True man!"
Jesse and Tom both praised him.
"It was nothing. Guys like that only bully the weak!"
Robert scratched the back of his head, looking a bit embarrassed.
Then he glanced at Rachel.
To his surprise, Rachel was looking at Charles.
"Charles, thank you for helping me out just now. And thank you too, Robert!"
"I didn't really do anything. You should thank Robert," Charles said, confused.
From start to finish, he hadn't even said a word, let alone thrown a punch. He had just stood behind Robert watching.
Rachel was thanking the wrong person. Was she out of her mind?
Just then, Pamela walked over.
"Charles, maybe you guys should leave. That guy looked like trouble. He might come back with more people to block you!"
Pamela had a point.
Charles thought it was better to avoid unnecessary trouble.
If the rogue really did come back with more people, they might end up getting hurt.
Charles was about to speak when Robert interrupted him, looking a bit annoyed.
"Charles, you can leave first if you want. I'm not going anywhere today. That loser is nothing but a coward. I'm not scared of him at all. Even if he brings people, I'm not afraid of him!"
Robert was clearly speaking in anger.
He wasn't stupid. He could tell that Rachel looked at Charles differently.
Of course, guys cared about their pride.
Pamela suggesting they leave and admit defeat wasn't something any man would like to hear.
Especially since the guy might not even come back.
Leaving because of a hypothetical situation would make them look even more cowardly.
"Don't worry, Robert. We're all brothers. We won't leave. We'll face whatever comes together." Tom patted Robert on the shoulder.
"Come on. Let's get online and play. Rachel, you can sit next to Robert."
Jesse subtly suggested.
"Alright then."
Rachel reluctantly agreed.
She actually wanted to sit next to Charles but didn't want to make it too obvious.
Charles felt like he was caught in the crossfire.
He understood Robert's feelings.
The girl he had invited out was showing unusual interest in another dorm mate, making him jealous.
But Charles hadn't done anything to mess around with Rachel.
He didn't even want to bother with Lisa, let alone Rachel.
"Pamela, could you get us some water? We'll be fine."
Charles patted Pamela's head, showing that he already had a girlfriend, and clearly intended to stay with his dorm mates.
"Alright then."
Pamela nodded shyly.
Her affection for Charles was at 94 points. His intimate gesture didn't annoy her; it excited her.
"By the way, Charles. Come over to my place tonight. I'm going to cook for you. Don't forget!"
While handing over the water, Pamela whispered in Charles' ear.
Charles felt a shiver down his spine.
His blood started to heat up.
The weather felt oppressively hot...
He glanced at Pamela's hot figure and felt a surge of desire.
Focus on the game! Focus on the game!
'Hmph! Women only want my money.
'How could they be more fun than games?' Charles thought.
Once the game started,
Charles played Garen in the top-lane.
Robert played Yasuo in the mid-lane.
Rachel played Janna as support in the bot-lane.
Initially, Janna could help Yasuo in the mid lane after establishing an advantage in the bot-lane. Their combo could secure kills and create a bigger lead.
But Rachel deliberately approached Charles to get closer to him.
She ignored the mid lane Yasuo and ran across the map to help Charles in the top-lane.
She even neglected the ADC!
"Rachel, you don't need to help the top-lane. I've already killed the opponent twice. Go help the mid- lane!"
"It's fine, Charles. I'll help you push the tower and create a bigger advantage!"
"But you're taking my experience!"
"Then I'll stand farther away and just watch you farm minions and take the tower money..."
"Rachel, can you go back to the bot-lane and help me? I'm completely stuck under the tower!" Tom couldn't help but speak up.
He was having a tough time as an ADC!
The game started with an advantage but ended in a loss.
Everyone knew why.
Just as they were gearing up for their next gaming adventure, a sudden commotion shattered the usual calm of the Internet café.
Some had tattoos, some had dyed hair, and some had buzz cuts. They were a motley crew!
But they all had cigarettes hanging from their mouths.
They were looking for trouble.
One of them was the rogue who had been kicked by Robert earlier.
"Hey, you bastards, come out here! Weren't you acting tough earlier? Try to act tough now!"
