Chapter 108

Rachel

The next morning, I felt like myself again and was ready to explore more of Paris. When I went to the lounge, breakfast just arrived and they were setting it up at our favorite spot, with the view of the Eiffel Tower. Massimo was busy on the phone. The staff left and I popped a piece of bacon in my mouth. “Morning sweetheart.” “Morning Massimo” “You look in better spirits this morning.” “I feel like myself again, thank you.” “I’m very happy to hear that.” “What’s wrong Massimo? You look troubled.” “There’s a few issues in New York.” “Can Enzo sort it out?” “I told him what to do, hopefully, he can sort it out otherwise we might have to cut our trip short. I’m sorry sweetheart.” “Massimo please don’t be business comes first and if there’s a problem you need to sort it out. Have you answered Anton yet?” “Sweetheart first of all you come first then everything else. As for Anton, can we have our breakfast first before I speak to that mother fucker.” “As you wish Massimo.” While we were eating, we spoke about my sub drop and that he was happy I felt better. “Massimo before we leave, I want to go to the Eiffel Tower.” “Of course, we will Bella.” “So, what’s the plan for today?” “I thought we could go to The Palais Garnier and then some shopping.” “Massimo I have everything I need at this stage.” “Bella, I have a surprise planned for tonight and I want you to get new shoes and a handbag for the occasion and then there will be a glam squad to do your make-up and hair again.” “You spoiling me Massimo.” “I want to spoil you, Bella.” “Do I get a clue as to what you have planned?” “Not.” Then he kissed me. “Let’s go, Bella, we have a full day ahead.”

When we arrived at The Palais Garnier and went inside my mouth dropped open. It was stunning, all the gold, and marble, the paintings on the roof, the staircases the mere size of the place was amazing. My history buff was in his element he couldn’t wait to start with the history lesson, I loved it. “Bella The Palais Garnier is also known as Opèra Garnier, it seats 1,979. It was built for the Paris Opera from 1861 to 1875. Emperor Napoleon III ordered the building of the Opera house. The Palais Garnier was made famous in the novel The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux in 1911, then the musical in1986.” “How do you remember the dates, Massimo?” “I’ve got a thing for dates sweetheart any numbers.” “Fun facts are the Opera house was built for Napoleon III but he never actually attended. The interior is decorated with 30 types of marble from 8 different countries. The Palais Garnier inspired the Phantom of the Opera.” “That’s a mouthful Massimo, but I love that you know so much about history. You inspire me to learn.” “I’ll be your teacher love.” He picked me up and spun me in a circle then we laughed so hard, it was like we were the only people there. “Put me down, Massimo.” “Only if you give me a kiss.” He slid me down the front of his body and we started to kiss. A kiss with Massimo is like foreplay for me I swear, I’m immediately wet afterwards.

“Come sweetheart next stopped Chanel.” “Ow my God Massimo, can’t we go to a regular store.” “It is a regular store, Bella.” “You know what I mean love, I don’t need name brands the whole time.” “But I can afford it so yes you need brand names Bella.” “I guess it doesn’t help fighting with you about this?” “No, it won’t help but I don’t see it as fighting Bella.” “Me neither Massimo. It’s just a figure of speech.” “Okay then.” Luca stopped in front of Chanel and we went in, the sales lady still remembered us. “Monsieur Marchetti, Mademoiselle. How can we help today? “J’ai tèlèphonè plus tôt à propos d’une robe que tu devrais garder pour moi “ (I phoned earlier about a dress you should keep out for me.) “Oui Monsieur. (Yes Sir) “Tu veux qu’il soit enveloppè?” (Do you want it wrapped?) “Oui” “What was that about Massimo?” “a surprise, let’s go look at the shoes and handbags, you choosing those.” “Do I get a color?” “Anything that goes with red.” I walked through the shoes and found a very pretty black high heel and there was a black handbag that went with the shoes. The sales lady took it from us and then put it at the till. The other lady came out with a huge box putting it with the other items. Massimo took out his card and paid for everything. Our next stop was Tiffany’s. “Massimo you know how I feel about jewellery.” “Bella and you know I buy you jewelry out of love and nothing else. If you don’t want to keep it after tonight, I’ll bring it back, promise.” “Okay, Massimo.” We walked into Tiffany’s and I was overwhelmed. I didn’t know where to start. “What are we looking for Massimo?” “A necklace Bella, something with a lot of diamonds.” “Massimo I’m a simple girl I don’t need a lot of diamonds.” “I know Bella but this is an investment every time we go to a function you can wear it.” “If you put it that way, it probably makes sense.” We went to one of the jewelers and he had a selection already ready for me to pick from. “Did you phone ahead Massimo?” “Guilty as charged Bella.” He looked at me with puppy eyes. “Please choose one sweetheart.” I looked at the selection and all of them had a lot of diamonds. There were chokers, with diamonds all around, thick, thin chokers, and then there was a simple white gold necklace with two circles that intertwined with small diamonds in the circles. It made me think about Massimo and me being intertwined with each other and it’s something I can wear during the day as well. “This one Massimo.” “It’s the simplest one of everyone Bella are you sure?” “Yes, Massimo the two circles that are intertwined with each other make me think of us and I won’t bring this one back.” “They were sold.”

We went back to the Hotel and when we entered the room, the same hairdresser was there as well as the girl from the Channel store. She took the bags from Marco and went to the bedroom. The other different thing was there were red roses all over the room.

What was Massimo up to?
