Chapter 168
Rachel
I took another minute to look at my flowers, it’s exactly how I wanted it, the white Protea as the centre point and the Orchids were hanging down and the cream roses, oh my God. “You did good Rachel” I said to myself. It was 3 minutes before 12 when I made my way to the stairs, when I started to walk, the wedding march started to play. Thank God for Dani and Damon. As I walked down Damon was taking photos when I step down from the stairs there was a white carpet all the way to Massimo. I couldn’t believe it, must be Marco. So many things were going through my head as I walked to my soon to be husband. I know now I never knew what love is, because I couldn’t see myself without Massimo next to me forever. The munchkins made a little dance in my belly or so it felt as I was walking to their daddy. As soon as I reached Massimo I could see his eyes where full of tears. He looked at me and said “You look absolutely stunning Bella.” He took my hand and we walked the rest of the way to the priest. When we reached the Priest. The music stopped. “Welcome ladies and gentleman to the wedding ceremony of Massimo Marchetti and Rachel Williams. Let’s start the wedding with a hymn ‘Gloria’” As soon as he said it the music started to play and everyone started to sing, another thing we didn’t think about. At least everyone knew the words. When the singing was done everyone took a seat. The priest was giving a short reading then it was time for the vows. “Do you have your own vows?” The Priest asked both of us, we both said “yes” then we smiled at each other. “Rachel you first”
“Massimo I love you
Not only for what you are,
But for what I am when I am with you
I love you
Not only for what you have made of yourself
But for what I am when I am with you.
I love you with my whole heart with a passion
that can’t be expressed in words, only in kisses,
glances and years of adventure by your side.
I swear I could not love you more than I do now
Yet I know I will tomorrow.”
“Massimo now you” the Priest said
Massimo took a piece of paper out of his jacket and the men laughed softly at him.
“Rachel, I can’t promise you that dark clouds will never hover over our lives or that the future will bring us many rainbows.
I can’t promise you that tomorrow will be perfect or that life will be easy.
I can promise you my everlasting devotion, my loyalty, my respect, and my unconditional love for a lifetime.
I can promise that I’ll always be here for you, to listen and to hold your hand, and I’ll always do my best to make you happy, and make you feel loved.
I can promise that I’ll see you through any crisis, and pray with you, dream with you, build with you and always cheer you on and encourage you,
I can promise that I’ll willingly be your saviour, protector, your advisor, your counsellor, your friend, your family, your everything.
I promise you.”
I wiped a tear from my face, “I love you Massimo” I mouthed to him
“The rings.” Massimo got them. “Give each other the right hand” Dani came to me and took my bouquet.
“Rachel repeat after me, “I place it on your finger as a visible sign of the vows which have made us husband and wife. This ring I give to you as a token of my love and devotion to you. I pledge to you all that I am and all that I will ever be as your wife. With this ring, I gladly marry you and join my life to yours.” I slipped the ring into Massimo’s left ring finger.
“Now Massimo repeat after me” “I place it on your finger as a visible sign of the vows which have made us husband and wife. This ring I give to you as a token of my love and devotion to you. I pledge to you all that I am and all that I will ever be as your husband. With this ring, I gladly marry you and join my life to yours.” Massimo took the ring and place it on my left ring finger.
“By the power infested in me by the Catholic Church I know pronounced you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.” “I’ve been waiting for this” Massimo said then he dipped me and kissed me. Everyone was cheering.
“Ladies and gentlemen Mr and Mrs Marchetti” The priest said.
Everyone came to us and congratulated us. Marco was starting to pour everyone champagne. I looked around looking if everyone was there but I was missing Luca, Ghost and Brad. I didn’t think much of it. Marco came to me first and gave me a glass. “Non-alcoholic Rachel” he said. “Thank you, Marco, for everything. Everything is exactly like I would have done it.” “My pleasure Rachel.” Massimo grab me from behind and gave me a kiss in the neck. “You look absolutely stunning sweetheart.” “Thank you, Massimo.” “Come Damon wants to take a few photos under the flower arch.” He took my hand and we walked to the arch. “I love the flowers sweetheart.” “I’m happy you like them.” Damon took a few photos of me and Massimo alone, then with Massimo’s parents then photos of the men with us. He put the camera on a timer and took a picture of the 4 of us. I’m sure that would be my favourite photo. The priest needed to get back to the city so we greeted him and the pilot took him back. “Are you going to cut the cake?” Damon asked “Off course.” Massimo and I walked to the cake. Massimo stood behind me and we cut into the cake. Damon took photos of that to and we fed each other a piece of cake without messing on each other. I saw Luca walk into the dining area and go to Damon. I wondered what that was about, apparently so did Massimo because he walked over to them.
