Chapter 149
Rachel
The flogging and sex were so good I started to cry. I didn’t know I could cry after sex, but good God it was heavenly. When Massimo touched me and felt the tears, I obviously scared him. “Bella! Bella are you okay?” “Yes Massimo.” “Why are you crying?” “It was just so good, that flogging God Massimo, you transported me to someplace I’ve never been and the way you fucked me. Fuck that was amazing.” “Jeez Bella you scared the shit out of me., I thought I hurt you.” “No Massimo anything but. I love the bed by the way.” Then I smiled at him. “I love the bed to sweetheart.” He pulled me to him and held me closely to him.
The next morning Francesca made us a big breakfast, “For the baby’s” she said when Massimo looked at her. The Italians are not big on breakfast. “Thank you, Francesca.” Massimo and I sat around the table and ate our breakfast, “What do you want to do today, Bella?” “I don’t know what there is to do Massimo.” “There are a few wine farms we could visit, although it’s winter the scenery is amazing or art studios. Let me check the weather. Okay Bella today is a day to be inside, let’s go to the art studios.” “That sounds great Massimo. Do you have board games?” “No Bella I don’t, I never had anyone to play with” He winked at me “Let’s go buy a few, then we could sit next to the fire this afternoon and relax with a board game.” “You’re wish is my command sweetheart.” He gave me a quick kiss. We got dressed and Massimo made sure I was warm, he made sure I had layers and layers of cloths on and a thick jacket and gloves. “This will keep you warm” “I thought I only needed you to keep warm.” “That’s sweet Bella, but I’m not nearly hot enough.” “Oh really love, it didn’t seem that way last night.” “Someone’s thoughts are back in the gutter.” “Who me?” “Yes, you sweetheart.” “I thought you liked my thoughts in the gutter.” “I do, but we’re going out today, we can stay at home tomorrow, then you can do whatever you want to or with me Bella.” “Is that a promise” “It most definitely is.” Marco and Luca waited for us at the front door the SUV was already parked in front of the house, when we walked out and the wind hit my face, I knew why Massimo said we should rather do something inside. It was cold as fuck. Now I also understand the insistence from Massimo on gloves and this thick jacket. Massimo told Luca where to go and we where in the SUV with the heater on, this feels good. We arrived at the Parrish Art Museum, interesting name. Massimo knows a lot about art maybe he knows why it’s called the Parrish Art Museum. “Massimo do you know why it’s called the Parrish Museum?” “I’m embarrassed to say no Bella, I’ve never been here before. Maybe there’s a tour guide that could tell us.” “I must say I’m quite shocked that you haven’t been here before, in Paris you’ve known everything,” “Bella I didn’t come to my house here to socialize or visit the attractions around it. I just came for a different scenery, but I still worked.” “That’s really sad Massimo, we definitely going to do something about that.” “I’ll like that and discovering new things with you is much better than alone.” “Thank you, Massimo.”
Massimo
We walked into the museum and I wasn’t lying when I said I felt embarrassed that I haven’t been here yet. I asked for a tour guide and saw there was a little coffee shop as well. Bella will like that. I kid no older than 19 was send to us. “Good day, my name is Samuel and I’ll be your tour guide today.” “Hello Samuel” Bella and I greeted him. We walked into a big space, he told us: ‘Samuel Longstreth Parrish born 1849 into a family of prominent Philadelphia Quakers, developed a taste for art of the Italian Renaissance as a student at Harvard College. Parrish began collecting art seriously in the early 1880s, just after moving his successful law practice from Philadelphia to New York. During that time, he regularly visited his family home in Southamptons. The Village, a popular summer resort then as it is now, quickly caught his interest and Parrish soon became an active member of the community.
During a trip to Italy in 1896, Parrish decided to build a museum in Southampton to house his rapidly growing collection of Italian Renaissance art and reproductions of classical Greek and Roman statuary. He bought a small parcel, of land next to the Roders Memorial Library on Jobs Lane and commissioned a fellow Southamton resident, the architect Gresvenor Atterbury, to design the building. Atterbury continued to work on the design of the Museum over a period of 20 years. The original building, constructed in wood and completed in the summer of 1897, opened to the public in August 1898. Developments at the Museum slowed considerably after Parrish’s death in 1932, along with the Great Depression and war years that followed. By 1941, the Village of Southampton’s accepted the building, grounds and founding collection as a gift from Parrish’s estate and the Museum was eventually renamed Parrish Memorial Art Museum. In 1954 they installed a heating system allowing the Museum to remain open all year around. That was also the year the name changed to The Parrish Art Museum, Inc.’ “Thank you, Samuel, we’ll take it from here.” I slipped him a $100 “Thank you, Sir.”
“Why did you do that, the poor child he looked scared of you.” “I did tip him Bella. We wanted to know where the name came from, he told us. I’m sure we can figure it out from here, you heard, Parrish fell in love with the Italian Renaissance, guess what Bella?” “What Massimo?” she smiled at me. “I’m Italian.” I pulled her to me and gave her a kiss that would make a lot of people uncomfortable if there where people besides us in the Museum. We walked through the art work and Bella saw a few pieces she loved and off course there where a lot I liked. We walked to the little coffee shop and ordered two hot chocolates. I could see Luca approaching us and Marco walking to Bella.
“Fuck, what now?”
