We walked into the Hotel in Venice, I know Massimo always stays in the best hotels but this is something else. From huge chandeliers hanging from the ceiling to gold pillars and gold worked into the roof it was a place fit for royalty. When we walked into our room my month was hanging open gold trimmings on the roof the pillars when you look out the window all you see is the canal and underneath us a nice veranda to sit outside and eat. I could see Massimo was tired and just wanted to go to bed but the babies where hungry and they where hungry for a cheeseburger and fries. Massimo off course said whatever I wanted but I felt silly asking for a cheeseburger and fries in this beautiful Hotel. Massimo on the other hand send Luca and Marco to go get us some burgers and fries. “How you feeling Massimo?” “A bit sore Bella and tired it feels like we were a month in Sicily with everything that happened.” “You could say that again.” “And you Bella the stress couldn’t be good for the babies.” “I think these babies will be weirded out when I’m relaxed, they like the excitement.” “I think we should teach them what it feels like when their mommy is relaxed, that will be my goal the rest of our vacation.” “That would be great Massimo.” Luca and Marco came with our burgers and Marco set the table at the window; the view was spectacular. “You guys can go to bed, I’m very sure a deadman will be safe.” “You sure boss?” “Yes, Luca I’m sure the last few days were rough on all of us.” “Then good night.” Luca said. Marco looked at me “You to Marco.” Then he only relaxed and said good night. “It looks like you and Marco have a strong bond.” “I would say so.” “Should I be jealous?” He teased me. “Not at all there is only one man for me and that is you Massimo now can you please stay alive and can we please eat our burgers I’m starving I haven’t eaten for 2 days now.” He wanted to argue with me then I stopped him in his tracks “Don’t even think of being mad at me I couldn’t eat even if I wanted to.” “I’ll give you pass only this time.” “Why thank you so much.” “Just eat Bella.” We dig into our burgers and fries and thank God for Marco he brought be a milkshake I think my bodyguard knows more about my cravings then I do. Massimo and I finished our dinner I gave him his pain killers and we both got into bed. “Let’s sleep until we wake up ourselves no alarm for tomorrow, Bella?” “That sounds like the best plan yet.”

We slept until the sun baked us out of bed when I looked at my watch it was already past 11 am. I kissed Bella awake “Morning sweetheart.” “Morning Massimo, what time is it?” “Believe it or not past 11.” “Oh my God Massimo clearly we were both exhausted.” “Clearly, let’s get up and used the rest to just chill with a ride on the canal.” “Yes please.” Bella helped me in the shower to get washed with my shoulder that was out of commission. We got dressed and walked out. Outside the door was Luca and Marco waiting for us. “Morning guys I don’t know how you going to follow us today we are going on a canal ride.”, “Okay boss we’ll just get the one behind you.” “As you wish Luca but again, I’m going to say I’m dead remember that.” “Yes, boss until the cartel released you are not.” “Let’s not think about that for now, okay?” “It’s our jobs to worry about that.” “Suit yourself.” We got on the first boat that came along.” The man asked if he can tell us more about Venice and I declined in his own language showing him I’m a local. I wrapped Bella in the blanket I brought with and we were off. “I’m guessing the history buff is coming out today?” “Off course.” The man started to move the boat and I started talking. “Bella did you know around the 5th century, Venice was originally a large lagoon. There were small, marshland-like islands around the lagoon each separated by natural canals. As Venice grew and developed, many of theses natural canals were widened and deepened. This would help to transport materials around the city. Although the canals were deepened for improved transportation of materials, they are not very deep. They are roughly between 10 to 15 feet deep. Over the course of the city’s history, Venetians have reinforced the canals with bricks and other materials to prevent buildings from sinking into the water. With so much change over time, it’s hard to say whether they are completely man-made or natural. Then if you think of taking a dip in the canal it is against the law and you can get a fine for doing so but it’s also not recommended especially with the boats and the pollution going on. Fun facts are the buildings on the Grand Canal date from the 13th century. It is thought to follow an ancient route. One of the bridges was named by Shakespear himself and I’m sure you know this one as you love movies Bella.” “Yes, The Grand Canal had a starring role in James Bond. See watching movies is a good thing.” She teased me. I asked the boat driver to take us to Trattoria Dona Onesta, it was a lovely romantic restaurant sitting on the canal. When we arrived, I asked them if we can be seated outside, I knew Bella will get a kick with being served through the window. I ordered a Tagliatelle all’Astice which was noodles with Lobster and I ordered Bistecca di Manzo ai Ferri Con Contorno which was grilled beef steak with a side dish. Bella and I was afraid for her eating any fish dishes while pregnant. When the food arrived and they gave it through the window Bella’s face was priceless I had to take a photo. “Hey why are you taking pictures of me?” “Your face when the food was given through the window was priceless Bella.” “Well, I want a photo of both of us this place is magical. She came and stand behind me and we took a beautiful selfie. Needless to say, the food was absolutely magnificent. “Desert Bella?” “What kind of question is that Massimo.” “Off course.” We both ordered the Tiramisu and it didn’t disappoint. “Want to walk around a bit Bella?” “Yes, we need to walk of all this food.”
