When I was done with Damon, I phoned Romana first. “Romana how are you?” “As well as can be expected after finding out I have a daughter.” “And how is the news been taken at home?” “Better as expected I must say. Obviously, she doesn’t want Lucia and Gia to stay with us but she did say I must get to know my daughter. Maybe that’s a good thing.” “I would say it’s a very good thing.” “But that is not why you called what’s wrong?” “Let me just patch Edcardo in.” I dialed Edcardo’s number and he answered immediately “Marchetti I hope this is important you do know it’s Saturday.” “Yes, Edcardo and Romana is also on the line.” They greeted each other and then it was back to me. “Guys we have a problem, the Gulf cartel is coming after me and Damon. They want us dead they want to take over New York.” “Didn’t you kill their leader and second in command?” Romana asked “Yes we did and that is why they are coming for us so they are actually coming for all of us.” “What do you need from us?” Edcardo asked. “Men, if we need it, men I don’t expect you or Romana to get personally involved but I would need men.” “Then that is what we will give you.” Romana said. “Do we know when they are coming?” Edcardo asked “Soon, but we will get a call as soon as they go through customs at the airport.” “Good keep us updated.” “Will do thank you guys.” “We will not let the cartel take over our city.” Romana said. Interesting I thought Romana was always quiet now he is outspoken. “Last thing before we disconnect, I would like you guys to know after this cartel business I’m giving the drug part of my business to Damon, I’m done, I can’t put my wife and unborn babies lives in danger the whole time.” “We understand Marchetti.” Edcardo said. “Then that is it, I’ll keep you guys updated and let you know how many men we need.” We all said good bye. “Massimo?” I heard Bella walking into my office. “Bella?” “You want something to eat? You’ve been in the office the whole morning.” “I’ll come with you and we can make something together. But first I need to tell you something.” “That sounds serious. What’s wrong?” “I’m sorting this cartel shit out and then I’m done with the drugs side of the business.” “You serious Massimo?” “Yes, Bella I’m serious I can’t keep on putting your life or our babies lives in danger the other businesses don’t have nearly as much danger than the drug business.” “You should be 100% sure Massimo; it must be your decision.” “It is Bella, it is.”
