Chapter 14
Massimo
“Bella, Bella?” Fuck she’s unconscious again.
It’s late afternoon and I was still in my running clothes, I didn’t want to leave her side. I decided I better go take a shower and change before I start climbing out the walls.
I used the bathroom connected to Bella’s room and left the door a little open for me to hear if anything happens. I showered and changed quickly, just as I was coming out of the bathroom my cellphone vibrated. “Yes Luca?”
“Is Rachel awake yet sir?” Luca asked. “Not yet Luca, any news? Did you find him?” “Not yet boss but we are close, we’ve got his name and address.”
“What’s the fuckers name?” “ Jean-Pierre Geber boss and he also live in the Lower East Side, a block from Rachel”
“Then it’s fucken good I’m not letting her go back there. Did you find someone to be Rachel’s bodyguard Luca?”
“That’s the other thing I want to talk about boss, I went through all the men we have and I suggest we take Marco, he’s the best candidate”.
“I agree with you Luca, inform him of his new duties and tell him he better be willing to protect Rachel like he will protect me, with his life”.
“Should I send him to the hospital boss?” “Not yet Luca, I’m not leaving her side.” As I finished with my call with Luca a nurse stepped in and took Bella’s vitals.
“How is she doing?” I asked the nurse “Everything looks normal” she said “Why doesn’t she want to wake up?” I asked frustrated.
“She will Mr Marchetti just give her time” she said with a smile.
Much later that night I was sitting next to Bella working on my laptop, I saw her stir and heard her moan.
“Bella, Bella” I whispered to her.
Rachel
My whole body was in pain. I could hear Massimo calling my name but I can’t open my eyes and my mouth was so dry.
I was busy taken inventory of all my injuries. Eyes definitely swollen and blue, ribs very soar and stomach probably bruised. I heard Massimo again
“Bella?” “Thirsty” I heard myself say.
“I’ll get you some water Bella just don’t go back to sleep” then I felt a straw at my mouth. “open for me Bella” I did and took a sip
“small sips Bella, I’ll get the nurse”. A few minutes later a female voice was next to me asking me if I can hear her.
“Yes” I choked out “Welcome back Miss Williams, I’ll go and fetch the doctor”. she said “I can’t open my eyes” I told the nurse
“Your eyes are blue and swollen, so it’s normal, but I’ll fetch you an Ice pack” she told me.
When she left I started to panic was I alone, where is Massimo. “Massimo” I said in a panicked voice.
“I’m here Bella don’t worry I won’t leave you” then I felt his hand.
“Massimo I need to tell you something”
“No Bella just rest for now”
“No Massimo I have to tell you, but can I get some more water first please.”
“Off course open” he said when I felt the straw at my mouth and then I heard the nurse again.
“Here Miss Williams here’s the ice pack but it’s going to be cold the doctor will be here shortly”. She said. Then I felt the icepack. “Thank you” I told the nurse Massimo was still holding my hand. When the nurse left I started again.
“Massimo it wasn’t the Ricci’s”
“I know Bella”
“But how”
“I have my resources” was all he said.
“Then you know it’s the guy of the club Friday night?”
“Yes I do, but I don’t know is why?”
“I should have told you Friday I recognised him, but with everything that happened I forgot and then when I wanted to tell you Saturday. You told me about your dominant tendencies and I didn’t want to loose my freedom yet”.
“Bella” he said while stroking my hand “First of all, I told you I’m not going to take away your freedom, I want to give you all the freedom in the world just with protection. My dominant tendencies as you call it will never hurt you, I just want to protect you and have my way with you” I could hear he was smiling.
Then I laughed. “Ow, that hurt don’t make me laugh”
“Sorry Bella, but I love hearing you laugh. Then let’s get back to what you said about, you recognized the guy Friday night. How and where from?”
I took of the ice pack from my eyes and tried to open my eyes. It opened a little. “Bella put back the ice packs”
“No I want to see you, because I feel guilty, I had a bad feeling about that guy since the first time I saw him but my fear of being under your dominance have me in this situation.”
“Bella no, the only person responsible is that guy. Go on” he said softly
“I saw him the first time on the subway, he took the same train as me. He always stared at me and it made me feel uncomfortable, everyday when we got off the train he was walking behind me, but turned a block before the coffee shop, so I decided I was imagining stuff. Then he appeared in the night club and I knew I had to tell someone. But I didn’t and here I am”.
“Bella this is not your fault. It’s all on him. Now please put back the ice packs, so your eyes can heal quicker. Did he say anything to you?”
“He kept on calling me a bitch and who did I think I was to get him thrown out of the club and he will teach me a lesson. My guess is he was angry about the club”.
“Massimo, I passed out after a while I need to know, d.. did he r…” I said on a sob
“No Bella, no he did not”
Then I just started to cry uncontrollably Massimo tried to comfort me without holding me. “Please hold me” I pleaded
“I don’t want to hurt you Bella” “Please Massimo” He took me carefully into his arms and hold me shhhh Bella your okay, no one will ever lay a hand on you again, I got you”.
“I dealt with my share of swollen and blue eyes and cracked ribs I can heal but I don’t think I would have survived if he raped me” “Bella you are a strong women you will survive anything”.
The doctor entered the room “Miss Williams” “Rachel please doctor”. “Rachel let’s get a good look at you”.
She examined me checked my eyes with the little I could open it and told me, what I already new. My eyes are swollen and blue, my stomach bruised and 2 ribs where broken and it will take 3-6 weeks to heal and of course the concussion. She told me they going to keep me over night because of the concussion and I will be discharged in the morning if everything goes well during the night.
When the doctor left it was after 11 at night and I told Massimo to go home and sleep.
“No Bella I’m not leaving you. I’ll stay until you get discharged tomorrow then I’m taking you home with me” he informed me.
“Oooo my God Massimo, Herman and Sally are probably worried sick”.
“Don’t worry Bella I got their number off your phone and informed them of what happened and also told them I’ll send Marco to collect your things as you are going to live with me know.
I just looked at him in shock.
And so it begins I thought to myself.
