Chapter 259
Massimo
Bella was sleeping and the nurse was sitting with her. I was contemplating our life and how I can make it better for Bella. Especially what I can do to keep her blood pressure down. I came up with one conclusion, moving to the new place as soon as possible the only problem is the men. Where would they stay while their place is being build, there was a few extra rooms and then that big gym in the garage maybe we can convert the garage and gym in rooms and bathrooms for them for the time being. I just needed the architect to go and have a look and find out how long everything will take. We need at least 6 places to sleep, 3 bathrooms, living room and a kitchen. That garage and gym is definitely big enough for that. And while they do that the men can sleep in the house if Bella is okay with it. It will take her out of the city and out of immediate harm’s way and it will give her the freedom to walk around on the grounds and go for a run if she wanted to. I was convinced that will make everything better. I started with a to-do-list for the next day, call real estate agent, architect, builder. But first I will need to talk to Bella. The nurse came running into my office “Mr. Marchetti please come to the room Rachel blood pressure is through the roof because you not with her.”
Rachel
I woke up disoriented, where was I? Why did I have machines next to me and why did I have a blood pressure machine on my arm and heart motoring stuff on me? And the bed next to me was empty but there was a woman sitting next to my bed. Where is Massimo? What happened to me?” The machines started making noises and the women sitting next to the bed got up. “Hi Rachel, my name is Karen I’m a pregnancy sister can you try and take deep breaths for me please.” “Where’s Massimo?” “In his office. If you can calm down, I’ll go and get him for you.” The machines where just peeping louder and louder. “Rachel, you going to have another panic attack please try to stay calm.” “I want Massimo NOW!” The nurse disappeared and seconds later Massimo walked into the room. “Bella I’m right here.” “Why aren’t you next to me?” He looked over at Karen. “I’m sorry sweetheart but please try to breath for me in through the nose and out the month, good. Let’s do this a few times just until the machines calm down okay.” “Then you’ll tell me what’s going on?” He looked a bit confused but said “off course I will.” We got the machines under control or basically me but no one wanted to say that. Massimo looked at Karen again. “Karen, do you know how to make an Ice latté?” Massimo asked her. “Yes” “Will you go and make Rachel one please with decaf coffee and some Hazelnut syrup in.” She looked at him as if she wanted to say it’s not why I’m here.” “Please” Massimo pleaded. “Fine but keep her blood pressure down.” “I’ll try.” Karen left us and as soon as she was out of the room I asked Massimo. “Why do I need a nurse and what is it with all these machines, what happened Massimo?” “What’s the last thing you remember Bella?” I got quiet and thought “You getting shot at, at the airport.” “And after that?” “Nothing I don’t even know how we got here and oh my God where you hit, is all the men okay?” “I’m fine Bella not even a scratch and the men just had flesh wounds.” “What happened Massimo why am I hooked to all these machines.” He took my head in his hands gave me a sweet kiss and said “Bella you had a severe panic attack and was out of it for a while that pushed your blood pressure up. Dr Coolen wanted you to be admitted to hospital but with the circumstances I couldn’t risk that, so the Dr brought the machine’s here and gave you a nurse for tonight and tomorrow if your stats come down, she will remove the machines and the nurse will leave.” On that note Karen came back with Bella’s Latte. At least Bella’s blood pressure hasn’t gone up yet. Karen gave Bella her latte and excused herself. She told me earlier she will be in the room next to ours when I’m with Rachel because she will still be able to hear the machines. “She’s not very friendly, is she?” Massimo just laughed at me, “I think she’s worried Bella.” “Are the babies, okay?” “Yes, but we need to keep your blood pressure down Bella or you will have problems.” “What kind of problems?” “Bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy, premature delivery that I know of.” “I’m going to try Massimo really I’m going to try.” “Bella how would you feel if we moved into the new house but the men stay in the other rooms until their house is finish? Or we convert the garage and gym into a house for them for the time being.” “Is that a possibility?” “If you are okay with a bunch of men also in the house then yes, I will make it a possibility.” “I’d love to Massimo, all that fresh air. I’d really love it. I can walk outside?” “Okay Bella, I’ll make it happen.” “Please tell me you still going to sleep next to me tonight?” “Off course I will where else will I go?” “I just though the nurse told you you can’t.” “Do you really think I would let a nurse tell me were to sleep in my own home?” “When it comes to me you tend to listen to nurses and doctors.” “Well not this time, this time they are in my house, my rules apply here. But if your blood pressure machine makes a noise, she might kick me out.” “Don’t worry Massimo it won’t. Are you still going to tell me what happened tonight and how I got home?” “I will but not now, okay?” “Okay” He got into bed next to me and I tried everything to be as close to him as I could with all these wires. As soon as I got a comfortable spot a fell into a peaceful sleep.
