Everyone was around Alessio except Dr Coolen she was busy stitching Bella up. I was stressing so much; Mia Rose must have sense it because she started crying again. “Ssshhh sweet girl everything is going to be okay.” I said while I rocked her. I had to believe everything was going to be okay because if Bella wakes up here and Alessio is not with us I’m not sure how she will react she will be devasted. I mean my heart was breaking while they were giving Alessio CPR and trying to get him breathing. It felt like hours but I’m sure it was mere minutes when I heard the most beautiful sound in the world Alessio was crying. ‘Thank God’ I walked over to him and there was color in his face. I thank God again for these beautiful babies, they were absolutely perfect. Mia Rose was taken from me and they gave me Alessio to hold but only for a minute. Then both where taken to get weighed and cleaned. I looked at Bella as she was still sleeping on the table totally healthy and made a split decision to go with the twins, I’m sure she wouldn’t want me to let them out of my sight. I walked with the nurses to the nursery Mia Rose weighed in at 2.5 kg which was 5.51 pounds and Alessio Salvadore weight in at 2.6 kg which was 5.73 pounds. Mia Rose had light hair and blue eyes just like her mamma but Alessio Salvadore had a bush of dark hair and brown eyes just like me. I couldn’t believe it I also couldn’t believe how much I love these two in a split second. They changed my life the moment they came into this world. The nurses wrapped them in a pink blanket for Mia Rose and a blue blanket for Alessio Salvadore they were so beautiful. The nurse came to me “Mr. Marchetti your wife is awake shall we introduce her to her babies?” “Yes please.”

The birth of the twins was hectic as soon as the doctor looked at how far I was dilated I could see there was something wrong and the moment she looked at the ultra sound she couldn’t hide her face.
When the doctor told me I need a C-section I was in a state I knew I cried but everything just went so fast. Apparently, the umbilical cord was around one of their necks and they couldn’t breathe so that meant an emergency C-Section and then the doctor told me it’s too late for an epidural the babies need to be taken out immediately. I didn’t have time to work through all the emotions I know Massimo was with me the whole time which I so appreciated and if I have to have anesthetic, I’m glad Massimo will be there to watch the twins get born. If I can’t see them Massimo need to. Before I knew what was going on we were in the theater and then I was out. When I woke up my lower belly was sore and there was no Massimo or Mia Rose or Alessio. I press the button to get a nurse’s attention. A nurse came in “Mrs. Marchetti you ready to meet your babies?” “Yes, please I can’t wait anymore.” “Okay let me let you sit up in bed then your husband will bring them in.” She helped me to get in a comfortable sitting position then the most stunning sight greeted me my husband pushing our two babies into my room. “Bella” Massimo said walking towards me and kissing my forehead. “You did so good Bella so good.” He picked up one of them “Meet your daughter Mia Rose Marchetti she weighs 2.5 kg.” He put her in my arms, it looked like I was looking in a mirror she had light hair and when she opened her eyes they where as blue as mine. I touched her little hand then kiss her on the forehead just like her daddy does with me “Welcome to the world Mia Rose.” Massimo walked over with Alessio in his arms but before he gave him to me, he wipe the tear that was rolling down my face. “And here Bella we have our warrior Alessio Salvadore Marchetti.” I took him in my other arm and told him the same I told his sister “Welcome to the world Alessio Salvadore.” While kissing him on the forehead. “I’m guessing the umbilical cord was around his neck?” I asked Massimo because he said Alessio was our little warrior. “Yes, Bella and it took a few seconds to get him breathing but he is healthy at a whopping 2.6 kg a whole gram heavier than his sister.” “I’m so glad you made it Alessio my life would have been empty without you. And look you have your father’s hair and eyes.” Massimo came sitting next to me on the bed leaning with his head against mine. “Can you believe this Bella our little family.” “No Massimo this is everything I’ve ever dreamed off but never though I could get.” “I’ll always give you everything I can Bella.” “Thanks for staying with them Massimo.” “I knew that is what you would have wanted.” We faffed over Mia Rose and Alessio a bit longer before they started crying. Then a nurse came in and said they are probable hungry and I should try and breast feed them. She will show me how. She asked Massimo to leave us but he refused. We first took Alessio and he latched on immediately then we tried with Mia Rose but she was fussing. Massimo didn’t have patients with the nurse he took Mia Rose from her and started rocking her while her brother was drinking, it was a totally different feeling. When Alessio had enough Massimo brought Mia Rose to me “Come know Mia Rose you need to eat and there is nothing better than mommy’s breast trust your daddy.” “Massimo” I said in pure shock but Mia Rose latched onto my breast and drank which made me very happy. Massimo took Alessio from me and started to burp him I didn’t even know Massimo knew how but apparently, he did when he was done, he took his shirt of and had skin on skin contact with Alessio when Mia was finished, I was so tired. Massimo put Alessio back in the basket and took Mia Rose and burp her then had special skin on skin time with her to. My heart was so full. “Sleep sweetheart I’ll be right here don’t worry about them.” Massimo said and within seconds I was asleep.
