Bella and I walked through the streets of New York and I had to admit I did feel the excitement in the air for the festive season. It’s funny how when you’re in love things seems different and you see things differently. Bella asked me if we could walk to Central Park and I didn’t see any reason why not, we took care of the 4 men that was following us today. Then Bella wanted to ice skate and again why not, she’s so happy I didn’t want to damper her mood. I helped Bella with her skates when Luca pulled me to one side. Fuck no I thought to myself. “What’s wrong Luca?” “Where being followed again.” “For fuck sakes can’t they leave us alone for one night. Keep an eye on them and get Enzo to bring the cars around. I’m taking Bella to skate a few rounds; they most definitely won’t try anything in front of all these people.” “Boss I must advice against it.” “Luca can you see how happy Bella is? Why should I damper that happiness because two assholes are following us. Keep an eye on them and get the vehicles here.” I went back to Bella and helped her up. “Let’s go skating” “What’s wrong Massimo?” “Let’s enjoy a few rounds of skating then I’ll tell you.” “You sure we can skate?” “Yes Bella.” I took her hand and we started to skate, I was surprised that she knew how. “I didn’t know you could skate Massimo.” “Neither did I know you could skate.” “Surprise” she said while making a twirl. “Careful Bella, you carrying precious cargo.” “I know what I’m doing Massimo.” “Where did you learn how to skate?” “I took lessons when I was smaller and you?” “I played ice hockey as a hobby when we came to New York.” “I never figured you as a hockey player.” I skate to her and picked her up at the hips. “And you probable never thought I could do this.” Then I put her down again and she skated on. “That was a surprise.” I could see Luca showing we should come back; Bella must have seen him to. “I guess our fun is over and it’s back to reality. Now what’s going on?” “Where being followed again.” “For fuck sakes don’t they have anything better to do?” Rachel said. “Let’s go Bella, I’ll bring you again.” We skated of the rink and got our skates of. Luca came to me as soon as we sat down to put our sneakers on. “Boss there is six men now.” “For fuck sakes is Enzo here?” “Yes boss, we’ll take you to the vehicles and try to catch one of them and try to find out who they working for and if it is the Ricci’s.” We started to walk to the vehicles and I could see all six men were moving towards us. “Bella when I say run, you run like your life depends on it, to the SUV.” She didn’t argue she just said “Yes” We walked a few steps before I said “Run” she started running, me next to her. All six men were running towards us. We jumped into the SUV and Enzo pulled away in a hurry. I could see Luca, Marco, Davide and Aldo approaching the six guys. We got to the underground parking, “Enzo you go back, find out who the fuck those guys where.” “On it boss.”
Bella and I got in the lift “Is it ever going to stop Massimo?” she asked half sad. “Yes, Bella it is, I’m just waiting for the right time to take the Ricci’s out. Then everything will stop.” “Yes Massimo, but while you waiting for the right time, they are trying to attack us left right and centre.” “I can’t do anything until the FBI isn’t looking at the Ricci’s anymore Bella. We could just take out the guys that is following us now. That makes the Ricci’s defences weak as well, so in fact we are doing something.” “I understand Massimo, don’t get me wrong I do, it’s just frustrating to not be able to go out and enjoy a night without being followed.” “I know it’s frustrating Bella, soon enough the Ricci’s won’t have any men left.” “Let’s hope so, now this baby is hungry.” “Let’s see if the food has been delivered.” “Yes, it’s delivered I can smell it.” We went to the kitchen and I dished us each a plate. I was also getting very frustrated with all these men that is following us, I hope to God it’s still the Ricci’s and not someone new I pissed off. Anything to drink Bella?” “I’ll just have a glass of water.” “So, you won’t mind if I drink something stronger?” “Not at all Massimo, go ahead.” I poured myself a stiff drink and went to the dining room where Bella was sitting. “Bella how would you feel about going to the Hamptons for a week, leaving the 28th.” “Oh my God Massimo, I’ll, love it. I’m sending Marco back.” “Just hold on.
