Bella’s water just broke and the fucken chopper isn’t back yet. Fuck me and my business I just had to do today. “Bella, shit my chopper went into the city let me just find out where they are.” “What the fuck Massimo?” she basically screamed at me. “I’m sorry Bella.” Francesca took over from me as I ran to the office where I left my cellphone for some or other reason. “Boss?” Luca answered “How far are you Bella’s in labor.” “Fuck boss where 10 minutes out.” “Okay fly faster.” I screamed at them then I phoned the doctor. “Mr. Marchetti?” “Doc we are in the Hamptons and Bella’s water just broke my pilot is another 10 minutes before he can pick us up.” “Okay Massimo just calm down a little bit, it’s going to be okay. Made sure she breaths and get her here as soon as possible that’s all we can do know. I’ll call the hospital and tell them you’ll be landing on the helipad in say 45 minutes.” “Yes, that sounds right.” “Okay Massimo, keep her calm.” “Thanks Doc.” I stood still in my office and took a few deep breath’s “You need to stay calm Massimo for Bella’s sake you need to stay calm.” I told myself. When I felt more put together, I went out to Bella. “They are 5 minutes out Bella we can start walking to the front door.” “Okay” Then she grabbed at her belly again. “Fuck” she screamed. “Breath Bella breath through the pain.” She gave me one look but if looks could kill I’ll be lying dead on the floor right know. Francesca was holing her hand on the one side and me on the other. I could hear the chopper approaching and it was the most beautiful sounds I’ve ever heard. “We’ll clean up the house and come through with Davide and Enzo.” “Thanks Francesca.” Luca jumped out and before I knew it Marco was taking over for Francesca he must have been lurking in the back the whole time. We walked with Bella to the chopper, it took me, Luca and Marco to get Bella in the chopper. Every time she tried to put a foot on the chopper, she got a contraction so we had to pull her into the chopper. Marco and Luca also got in but Bella didn’t say a word I think she was in to much pain to say anything. When we where all seated the chopper took off. Bella was doing her breathing exercises the whole way there I started to do them with her I was beyond stressed. Within 45 minutes we landed on the helipad at the hospital and the doctor was waiting for us with a wheelchair. We helped Bella out of the chopper and into the wheelchair, “You ready Rachel?” The doctor asked her. “It’s too early.” “Don’t worry Rachel everything will be okay it’s not that early you had them another week in there.” We ran/walked to the maternity ward, Luca and Marco couldn’t go in they had to wait outside. When we got to the room, Bella was put on the bed with her legs open the doctor wanted to see how far she was dilated. “Okay Rachel let’s see how far dilated you are?” She looked and looked I was getting worried and so did Bella. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing is wrong you are 4 cm dilated you need to be 10 before we can start the birthing process but I want to do an ultra sound as well?” “Why doctor?” I asked “We just want to make sure everything is in order.” While they got the sonar machine ready, they put a blood pressure machine on Bella, her blood pressure was high and the doctor didn’t like it at all. When she did the ultra sound, I could see something was wrong. “What’s wrong doctor?” Rachel asked “We need to do a caesarean section Rachel it looks like the umbilical cord is around one of the babies’ necks and it’s cutting of the air.” I looked at Bella and I could see the tears running down her face. “It’s too late for an epidural Rachel I’ll have to give your local anesthesia.” “But Massimo can be in the delivery room, right?” “Yes, he can stand by you and see the babies as they come out.” “Okay then I’m fine with it, just save my babies.” Bella said. Everyone was around Bella trying to get her ready to go into theater everything was moving so fast I didn’t know what to do, one nurse pushed a theater gown a masked and things for my shoes in my hand. I quickly put everything on. “Stay with me Massimo.” “I’m not going anywhere Bella I’m right here with you don’t worry Bella I won’t go anywhere.” I grabbed her hand as they pushed her. She was crying and I was trying to calm her down but nothing worked yes, I was also nervous as fuck but at least I’ll be awake to see your babies. They pushed her into a sterile room with lots of lights I can’t think that I’ve ever been in such a theater the one at Big Nicks place didn’t count. When I saw the doctor next, she was also wearing scrubs. “You ready Rachel.” “No” was all she said with tears running down her face. “Massimo will be here the whole time don’t worry we’ll look after you and the babies Rachel. The doctor is going to make you sleep know, just think when you wake up you will have 2 beautiful babies.” Bella didn’t answer but I gave her a kiss on the forehead and whispered to her “I love you Bella, everything is going to be okay.” And then she was asleep and everyone got to work. I could see everything how they cut her open and how they took out Mia Rose first the umbilical cord was around Alessio’s neck and I could see he was turning blue. When Mia Rose came out, she started crying immediately they took her to a small table wrapped her checked her and gave her to me. When Alessio came out there was nothing no cry absolutely silence even Mia Rose was quiet.
