It was a massive shock for everyone at the party. It felt like one revelation after another. The crowd was truly stunned when Daisy revealed that Justin was dating Sadie. As Daisy disclosed the secret, it prompted Juliana, who was sitting with Gabriel, to quickly nod her head and whisper in a low voice.
“I knew it. The way she was laughing with her the other time I saw them in the bar was more than just a laugh. I sensed something was going on.”
As Daisy’s speech continued, Juliana, still angry with Gabriel, kept muttering to herself and didn’t pay much attention to what her daughter was saying. She felt completely satisfied.
Gabriel, feeling left out despite Juliana speaking softly, tried to contribute to her inner thoughts. He even reached out his right hand, trying to get her attention.
Juliana swiftly pulled her hand away, giving him an angry look, and then turned her gaze towards Daisy, who was carefully choosing her words to expose Sadie. Just as Daisy finished her speech and was about to step down from the stage, Juliana felt a sense of fulfillment and smiled.
“Why didn’t Daisy let me in on this plan?” Juliana wondered. As Daisy made her way back to her seat, Juliana had planned to get up from her seat and go meet Daisy, embracing her. This time, she only watched Daisy gracefully walk to her seat, and when Sadie passed by her, Juliana didn’t pay attention.
But then, Juliana heard Sadie’s voice saying, “If you truly know what happens behind you, you would have known who your father really is. Justin isn’t your biological father.”
The words hit Juliana like a bolt of lightning.
The crowd, initially captivated by Daisy’s revelation, now shifted their focus to the new information. Juliana quickly turned her face towards Sadie, perplexed by her words.
“What does she mean?” Juliana first thought, and then added, “Daisy is our daughter.”
Daisy, initially confused, stood up from her seat and looked at her mom, who was already standing up. Juliana was lost in thought, believing that Sadie had fabricated such a lie because Daisy had exposed the truth about her relationship with Sadie, which was shocking and disgraceful.
Daisy hurriedly approached her dad, forgetting what she had said about him earlier. She wanted the truth of what Sadie had said, and was planning to go back on stage to pour more insults on Sadie for trying to disgrace her in return.
“Dad, are you not my biological father?” Daisy stood in front of Justin, drawing the attention of everyone, including her mom, who was entirely convinced that Justin was her dad.
“Dad, I’m waiting for you. Tell me the truth, so that this disgraceful person knows she’s just shaming herself.”
Justin looked directly into Daisy’s eyes, and his gaze conveyed numerous things. The longer he hesitated, the more people started to believe Sadie’s claim.
“Dad,” Daisy’s voice changed, and she continued, “vindicate me. Please vindicate me in front of everyone here. Don't let them leave with the wrong impression. Please!” She took a step closer to her dad, realizing that her plan to disgrace Sadie was taking a terrible turn.
“I am not your dad. That’s why I left your mom. I’m sorry, I never wanted to tell you this, but because I love you so much, I thought it would hurt you and I didn’t want to lose you.”
At that moment, Daisy collapsed to the ground, appearing breathless. Within minutes, the paramedics, who were on standby for the event, rushed in. First , they pulled everyone away from Daisy and took Daisy into an ambulance, rushing her away to the hospital. The entire occasion descended into chaos.
“Does this mean Juliana had been cheating on her ex husband all these years?” Gabriel pondered, but he didn’t voice his thoughts out of fear. He knew that Juliana was aware of some of his own secrets, and he didn’t want to add insult to injury.
“I never cheated on Justin,” Juliana exclaimed, spreading her arms wide in front of Gabriel, whom she had paid little attention to throughout the event.
“I swear!” Juliana exclaimed again, tears coming down her face. She was so confused and didn’t know what to do. Gabriel quickly embraced her, and she willingly embraced him back, while the guests started leaving one by one.
Then, someone touched her back, and she turned around. She pulled away from Gabriel and saw Stephanie. Stephanie had been waiting for ”lenda to separate from Gabriel, as she was very angry with him. But when Juliana didn’t leave his side, Stephanie decided to approach her.
“There are so many things going wrong here. I think Daisy and her best friend had a big misunderstanding. As long as you didn’t cheat on Justin, why are you crying?” Stephanie asked.
“But my ex-husband is saying otherwise.” Juliana cried even more.
“Come on, let’s go and visit Daisy at the hospital,” Stephanie said, her tone filled with anger, though Juliana couldn’t see it. She pulled Juliana away, and they got into her car, then they drove off. Gabriel just stood there, watching, not knowing what to do, as Stephanie took Juliana away. He didn’t need anyone to tell him that Stephanie was extremely upset with him, even though she hadn’t said a word to him.
Sadie, looking down at the floor as she was sitting down and her small bag dropping from her grips. All she could see was her own feet. Suddenly, she heard footsteps approaching. She lifted her gaze and saw Leo.
“No matter what anyone says about you, I’m still here for you. Can we leave this place? You are still the one I love,” Leo said.
She looked at Leo and then cast her eyes back to the ground. Out of nowhere, she felt overwhelmed with joy as the shame of what people would say when they find out she was she secretly dating her best friend’s dad went away and she replied,
“The best thing that has happened to me was being with Justin. I didn’t invite you here, so please, leave my sight.” She paused and turned and glanced in the direction of the stage when she overheard Justin asking someone for the microphone.
“What is Justin planning to say when everyone has already started going home?” she wondered, and waited.
“Sadie, in the presence of our friends and loved ones, I’m tired of keeping our relationship a secret. Please, will you marry me?” Justin announced and Justin looked at the direction of Sadie and was waiting for her reply.
