You expect me to sleep after that?
The dim golden light from the bedside lamp cast soft, flickering shadows across the walls, wrapping them in a cocoon of warmth. Outside, the night was still, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves against the window. But inside, within the four walls of their sanctuary, a different kind of storm brewed, one of longing, of unspoken promises, of a hunger too strong to be denied.
Austin’s touch was unhurried, deliberate. His fingertips skimmed over Dora’s skin like a whisper, igniting a trail of goosebumps in their wake. He wasn’t in a rush, he never was. He wanted to memorize her, to make her feel every second of his devotion.
Dora shivered beneath him, her breath coming in soft, uneven gasps as his lips found the curve of her neck. He lingered there, letting his warm breath tease her skin before pressing a slow, lingering kiss just above her collarbone. The sensation sent a shudder through her, curling her toes against the silk sheets.
Her hands fisted in his hair, nails grazing his scalp as she tried to pull him closer, to erase the torturous space between them. But Austin resisted, chuckling softly against her skin. His control was unwavering, maddening.
“Austin…” His name escaped her lips, a breathy whisper filled with both yearning and frustration.
He lifted his head slightly, locking eyes with her. His gaze was dark, intense, swirling with emotions too deep to name. “I love the way you say my name,” he murmured, his voice a rough caress against the quiet of the night.
His mouth found hers then, capturing her lips in a slow, hungry kiss. The taste of him was intoxicating, sinful, and utterly addicting. Her fingers tightened around his shoulders, pulling him closer, needing more, needing everything.
Austin responded with a deep groan, his body pressing against hers, the heat between them searing through the thin barrier of clothing that still separated them. His hands moved lower, tracing the gentle swell of her belly, pausing just above the waistband of her panties.
Then he hesitated.
Dora felt the change instantly, the way his muscles tensed, the way his breathing shifted. She knew what he was thinking.
“Austin…” She touched his cheek, her voice soft.
His jaw clenched as he exhaled, his forehead pressing lightly against hers. “I don’t want to hurt you. Or the baby.” His voice was low, raw with emotion.
A tender smile curved her lips as she stroked his face. “You won’t.”
Still, he hesitated.
So she guided his hand lower, pressing his palm flat against her belly. “We’re okay,” she whispered.
Something flickered in his eyes then, a relief, and a deep sense of emotions. A silent vow.
But the moment was brief. The air between them thickened once more as Austin’s hesitation melted away, replaced by a new kind of hunger, one laced with urgency, with devotion, with a need so fierce it bordered on desperation.
His lips found hers again, more demanding this time, coaxing soft gasps from her as his hands moved with new purpose. He kissed a path down her throat, over her collarbone, then lower still, his mouth branding every inch of her with unspoken promises.
Dora arched into him as his lips found the sensitive peak of her breast, his tongue flicking over her in slow, teasing strokes. A moan escaped her, her body trembling beneath him.
Austin groaned against her skin. “I could spend forever right here,” he murmured.
His words sent a fresh wave of heat coursing through her, pooling low in her belly. She could barely breathe, barely think, lost in the sensations he was creating, in the way he worshipped her.
But just as his fingers skimmed the lace of her panties, a thought pushed its way through the haze of pleasure. A warning. A reminder.
She placed a shaky hand on his chest. “Wait…”
Austin froze instantly, his entire body going rigid. His gaze snapped to hers, dark with concern. “Are you okay? Did I…”
“No,” she cut in quickly, shaking her head. “I’m fine. I just…” She bit her lip, her cheeks flushing. “We have to be careful.”
His lips twitched into a knowing smirk. “There are other ways to pleasure you, Dora.”
Her breath hitched. Heat licked at her skin at the promise in his voice.
Before she could respond, he shifted lower, pressing an open-mouthed kiss to the inside of her thigh. His touch was slow, torturous, unraveling her inch by inch.
Her body trembled as his fingers hooked beneath the waistband of her panties, sliding them down her legs and tossing them aside.
And then he looked up at her, his eyes locked onto hers as he lowered his mouth to her center.
The first flick of his tongue sent a sharp gasp tearing from her lips.
Austin groaned in approval, gripping her thighs as he worked her with maddening precision, teasing, tasting, tormenting. His patience was infinite, his control absolute. He took his time, dragging her higher and higher until she was writhing beneath him, her fingers twisting into the sheets.
“Austin… please,” she whimpered.
He chuckled, the sound vibrating against her, sending another pulse of pleasure shooting through her. “Patience, baby.”
She had none.
Not when he was doing this to her, making her fall apart, making her feel things that shattered every piece of her.
Her release came fast, overwhelming, a wave of pleasure so intense it left her breathless. Her body arched off the bed, her thighs clamping around him as she cried out his name.
Austin didn’t stop until she was trembling, until she was completely undone beneath him.
When she finally collapsed against the pillows, dazed and sated, he pressed a gentle kiss to her hip before crawling back up her body.
“Now, sleep,” he murmured, brushing a damp strand of hair from her face.
Dora let out a breathless laugh, still lost in the aftershocks of pleasure. “You expect me to sleep after that?”
Austin smirked, tucking her against his chest. “Yes. Because I plan to do it again in the morning.”
Her lips parted, heat stirring in her belly once more. “I might need more convincing.”
His smirk deepened. He leaned in, his lips grazing her ear. “I am more than happy to oblige.”
But before he could kiss her again, his phone buzzed on the nightstand.
A frown tugged at his brows.
Dora watched as he reached for it, his expression shifting the second he read the message.
Her stomach twisted. “Austin? What’s wrong?”
His jaw clenched. His grip tightened slightly around her as he pulled her closer, shielding her without a word.
Then he turned the screen toward her.
A single message flashed across it.
"You can't protect her forever."
A chill ran down Dora’s spine.
Austin’s gaze darkened, his entire body going rigid with barely contained fury. Whoever had sent that message had just made the biggest mistake of their life.
Because he wasn’t going to let anyone take her away from him.
Not now.
Not ever
