I’m running out of patience
Author’s pov
Taylor was growing increasingly anxious and very uneasy. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go. He, Gabriel, and the nurse they had paid had a plan, but now, it was falling apart. The high-ranking doctor was nowhere to be found, and without his approval, no one could administer the drug to Larisa. By 4 p.m., Taylor had reached his limit. For the third time, he pulled Gabriel aside, frustration evident in his voice.
“What’s going on? I’m running out of patience. This isn’t what we planned! Larisa and the baby are perfectly fine, what are you waiting for?”
“I don't think we can do anything now. I guess it will be tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow? I overheard the doctor saying that she is strong and she can go home tomorrow. Is this what we planned?” Taylor asked.
“Why can't we give her the drug in your house? It will be very easy that time. The nurse we are using will be the one to administer it.”
“I am getting the feeling that something is going wrong somewhere.” Taylor said.
“Don't have that thinking.”
“Why will I not have that thinking? This is the opportunity I have. If I miss it, it will…”
“It will not go against you. I am with you. I promise.” Gabriel interrupted him and they a nurse came out and said,
“Please Mr Taylor, come inside. The doctor wants to see you.” She said with deep respect and Taylor immediately followed her and he went to meet the doctor. When he entered the office, and for the first time, he was pushed to ask for the name of the doctor.
“Please, what's your name?”
“My name is Dr Luke and I will gladly inform you that the baby and her mom are perfectly okay. And you can take them home by tomorrow.”
“Thank you so much.” Taylor looked into his eyes and Luke nodded his head with a smile.
Taylor left the office and went to Larisa's room and found that Larisa and her baby were sleeping. Then he left them and came out.
The next day, Taylor had gone home and came to the hospital the next morning and he brought a bigger car with the intention to carry Larisa and his baby. He went into her room and Gabriel was with him. When he got there, he saw Larisa's mom.
“Larisa, how was your night and the baby?”
“We are doing very fine.”
“Okay. I have seen the doctor and he said you can go home with the baby.”
“Which of the homes?” Larisa was asked and Taylor didn't get the question at first.
“I said, the doctor has said you can go home and I have already brought a big car that will contain you, the baby and everything.”
“I am not going anywhere with you. I wanted to tell you this since yesterday evening after the test I ordered for, but I decided to tell you when the time is right.”
“What do you mean Larisa? Is this the way you do not want to follow me to my house? This is not about you. This is about my baby. Don't I have rights over my baby? You can stop me from having you, but you can't stop me from being with my baby. If you want to always see your baby, then it means you will always be with me.”
“Never! Both of us will not follow you because you are not the father of the baby.”
“What?” He raised his voice. “And who is the father of the baby?” He asked.
“I.” Dylan entered the room and in his hand a glass of wine.
“Dylan? You? Have you been sleeping with my girlfriend?”
“I am not your girlfriend. I was the one who seduced him.” Larisa said and Taylor felt like collapsing and he shook his head.
“This better be a dream.”
“Larisa, are you sure of what you are saying?” Larisa's mom asked.
“Is this the reason you wanted to go to New York? It means both of you have been lying to me.”
“Dylan, is this payback? I thought I told you I was very sorry when I mistakenly did you wrong many years ago? You can't do this to me.” As he was overwhelmed and wanted to raise his hand and hit Dylan. Dylan quickly held his hand and said,
“You better leave you before I call the police?”
“What will they do?” He asked angrily.
“They are coming and they will not arrest you alone. Your friend, Gabriel will also go for it. The person you both worked with has revealed everything you and Gabriel told her and the police are coming now.”
Immediately Taylor and Gabriel left the hospital and Dylan and Larisa held themselves and kissed for some minutes.
The nurse Gabriel and Taylor were working with was one of Larisa's school mates in college. She was the one who secretly told Larisa what Taylor and Gabriel were planning. Their planning brought curiosity to Larisa's mind and she remembered how her baby always moved whenever Dylan touched her belly or when her baby heard her voice. Then she came up with a plan and at first, she didn't tell Dylan about her plans and this was right she quickly invited a high ranking doctor to take care of her. With the help of the doctor, they came up with the health condition that the baby was losing blood and they needed Taylor's blood.
Secretly, Dylan also gave out his blood for a test when Larisa told her what she was doing and surprisingly, Dylan was the father of the baby.
Dylan and Larisa couldn't hide their joy as they were so glad that everything had worked in their favor.
Taylor was surprised that Dylan was the one drinking wine at the hospital and he thought his brother was rejoicing because of what happened to him.
Larisa, her baby and Dylan left the hospital and went to a hotel.
That same day, Taylor went to meet his parents.
“Dad, mom, my own brother has gone behind my back and betrayed me. He slept with my girlfriend and impregnated her.”
“What?” Sadie shouted.
“Are you sure of what you are saying?” Justin asked.
“Completely sure. I left them in the hospital. My own brother has broken my heart.”
“Justin took his phone and called Dylan immediately and Dylan picked up the call.
“Dylan, what am I hearing that you did?”
“Dad, Larisa and I are meant to be. She is the only woman my soul has found peace with.”
“Is this a payback of what your brother did to you?”
“And I begged him when it happened,” Taylor raised his voice in the background.
Dylan decided to keep quiet and hear what his dad was about to say.
“Dylan, you have broken the peace of this family. You are so sweet to have done something like this,” Justin said and before Dylan could say something to what he had said before, Larisa took the phone from Dylan's hand and said,
“Please, do not blame Dylan. I was the cause of everything. I seduced him when he came for your anniversary. When I first set my eyes on Dylan, I started wishing why I didn't meet first before Taylor. I am sorry to say, Taylor is a tyrant and I can't be with him.”
Justin was astounded and his lips left each other and he didn't know how to conclude.
“Why didn't you look for someone else, rather than Dylan. These young men are brothers.”
Larisa and Dylan didn't say anything and they started smiling and looking at themselves and then Larisa dropped the phone on the table and they started kissing.
“Dylan! Dylan!! Dylan!!! Are you there?” Justin said and this time Taylor was sitting on the chair and was continuously stamping the floor with his right foot. It was at this moment that Taylor's phone rang. He brought out his phone and saw that it was Bridget and he angrily picked up the call and said,
“What?” His loud voice shocked Bridget and Bridget couldn't say what she wanted to say.
“Are you deaf? Why did you call me?”
“I'm pregnant.”
“Pregnant?” He raised his voice and Justin and Sadie turned their eyes at him.
“Who is pregnant for you?” Sadie calmly asked.
This was how Bridget became pregnant for Taylor and she gave birth to a baby boy and six months later, Taylor and Bridget got married. But two years later, Bridget had to divorce Taylor as she couldn't bear this attitude.
Larisa and Dylan were the best of couples and they got married a few weeks after Larisa gave birth, but Taylor didn't attend the marriage. His parents Justin and Sadie attended and didn't bring up the matter again after hearing that Bridget, a close friend of Larisa, was pregnant for Taylor.
Larisa and Dylan went back to New York and they lived together and they were not only a couple, but they were best of friends and the name of their baby girl was Daisy.

Months later, Larisa and Dylan were at the park, sharing an ice cream and as they were about to kiss, when a familiar voice called out, pausing Larisa’s lips.
“Larisa?”
She turned, eyes widening. “Dora?”
For a moment, they just stared at each other before breaking into smiles.
“I can’t believe it’s you!” Larisa hugged her old high school friend. “How long has it been?”
“Too long,” Dora said with a small laugh.
Dylan, sitting beside Larisa, smiled politely. “A friend from school?”
“Yes! We were inseparable,” Larisa said, then gestured between them. “Dora, this is my husband, Dylan.”
Dora furrowed, but she quickly smiled. “Nice to meet you, Dylan.”
“You too,” Dylan said, shaking her hand.
Larisa’s eyes drifted to Dora’s fingers, no wedding ring.
She hesitated before asking, “How’s everything? Your husband?”
Dora’s smile wavered. “Ex-husband now. We finalized the divorce a few months ago.”
“I’m so sorry,” Larisa said, touching Dora’s arm gently.
Dora shrugged, forcing a small laugh. “It’s for the best. I’m… adjusting.”
Larisa glanced at Dylan, who gave her a knowing look.
“You should come over sometime,” Larisa offered. “We have so much to catch up on.”
Dora hesitated, her gaze briefly lingering on Dylan before she nodded. “I’d love that.”
As they said their goodbyes, Dora watched them walk away. The way Dylan rested his hand on Larisa’s back, the ease of their laughter, it stirred something emotional inside her.
What happens when Dora thought that a drink at the club could curb these strong sexual feelings, but ended up having a one stand with her ex husband. This is the story of Dora. Would this night change everything for good or worsen everything?
