Should I tell her I got the job or not?

“Hello Juliana, I’m not sure what nickname to use for you without causing offense. But one thing I’m certain of is that when I see something magnificent, I can’t help but speak about it. You are truly unique. Your beauty is like a rare gem. I know I’ve lost my position as PRO of your organization, but that doesn’t stop me from appreciating something visually appealing. The man who gets to hold you and set his eyes on you when he wakes up will be incredibly fortunate. As for me, I’ve never been lucky enough to touch and kiss those soft lips of yours. I may not get another chance to meet you, so I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how beautiful you are. Even more beautiful than the rose in front of you. When I saw you in your office, my body chemistry changed as if you touched me, then what happens when you actually touch me? If you were to kiss the back of my hand, I don’t think I would ever wash it again, as your lips would leave a mark of love. I won’t say I miss you since I doubt I’ll see you again. I admire you, and the image of your cleavage is still fresh in my mind. If your cleavage is like that, I can only imagine how amazing the real thing is... I paused here!"
Juliana couldn’t help but smile as she read the letter. Without realizing it, she said,
“You shouldn’t have stopped, you should have finished the sentence. What do you mean when you say the real thing? I guess he was talking about my breasts or what else,” then she started smiling as she thought of her private part.
Juliana was carried away and she read the letter again, feeling a rush of emotions with each sentence.
“I’m impressed by his boldness,” she thought, resting her head against her chair and gently swaying the executive chair from side to side. As she closed her eyes, thoughts filled her mind, and she couldn’t help but smile to herself again.
“Didn’t my heart burn with passion the moment I laid my eyes on him when he first walked into my office? He is so handsome, and his eyes are innocent. Why can’t I call him? Since Justin has refused to touch me, whenever I see an attractive man, it takes my breath away. I need to discuss this change in mindset with Stephanie. Is it appropriate for me to go on a date with someone, considering Justin doesn’t even bother to call or check on me?”
She opened her eyes, picked up her phone, and called her secretary.
“Miss Doris, please come to my office.”
“Yes, ma’am,” the secretary replied. A few minutes later, Juliana’s office door opened, and Doris entered, standing close to her desk.
“I’ve forwarded a CV to your computer. I want you to call me Mr. James Samson. His phone number is on his CV.”
“Okay, ma’am,” she turned and left. As she settled back into her chair, she opened the file Juliana had sent and copied the phone number. Using the company’s desk phone, she dialed James’s number.
“Hello, Mr. James Samson. This is Miss Doris Mark. I’m calling on behalf of Mrs. Juliana Dan. She requested to see you. Are you still in the building complex, or have you left?”
“I’m a few kilometers away. I can come back if she wants me to.”
“Yes, she would like you to return to her office immediately.”
“Okay, I’m on my way back. Give me a few minutes,” James replied.

“It works! This is unbelievable!” James exclaimed, clapping his hands together in his car.
“I never expected it to be this magical. Juliana wants me back. Has she changed her mind to give me the job? But I don’t think it’s because of the job,” he murmured, his enthusiasm fading as he rested his head against the steering wheel and closed his eyes.
“What am I going to tell my mom if Juliana fails to give me the PRO position? I can’t disappoint my mum. But how can I avoid it?” he asked himself, falling silent. A few minutes later, he turned his car around and drove back to the building. James got out of his car, went up to the tenth floor using the lifter and some minutes later, he stood in front of the secretary.
“I’m back. Please let your boss know I’m here,” he said.
The secretary picked up her desk phone and called Juliana.
“Hello, ma’am. Mr. James is here.”
“Tell him to come in,” Juliana replied. Doris relayed the message to James.
“My boss said you should come inside.”
Without saying another word, he turned and walked towards the door. Inside Juliana’s office, both her heart and James’s were racing unbeknownst to each other. As the door opened, Juliana stood up, and their eyes met. She quickly left her chair, and they walked towards each other, embracing tightly.
“I’m sorry for how I kicked you out of my office,” Juliana said, her voice filled with emotion as it had been a long time since she had held a man this close. Just the way she was feeling, she held James tightly.
“No need to apologize. You were just doing your job,” James replied, and then they separated. Juliana took hold of his right hand and kissed the back of it, and they both burst into laughter.
“I hope you won’t bathe this hand again?” She said with a humorous tone.
“I was only joking about the hand-kissing. I didn’t mean for you to actually do it. I just wanted to let you know how beautiful you are,” James said and smiled, opening his set of white teeth and Juliana was carried away by his smiling.
“Thank you,” Juliana replied.
“Your husband must be the luckiest man,” James said as he flirted with his eyes, and they both took a seat. His last words struck a chord with Juliana, and she blinked her eyes repeatedly, contemplating what to say.
“Thank you,” she finally said, thinking to herself, “Am I doing the right thing? Just be true to yourself. Maybe I should discuss this with Stephanie first. I feel like I’m making a mistake.”
“Juliana! Juliana!” James called, waving his hand in front of her eyes.
“What are you thinking about?” James gently tapped the desk.
“I’m sorry, my mind is troubled,” Juliana admitted.
“About what?” James asked.
“I didn’t want to break your heart again. The PRO position has been given to someone more experienced than you. That’s what I found difficult to say.”
“I’m not too worried about that, but my main concern is my mom,” James replied.
“How?” she asked, this time managing to control her emotions unlike the first time she laid eyes on James. One way she achieved that was by considering what Stephanie would say about her action.
James suddenly frowned, catching Juliana’s attention. “What’s happening? You look sad.”
“Yes, I already told my mum about this job, and she was so happy. I even told her I would start today…”
Juliana didn’t wait to hear the rest of James’s words before she began to recall the company policy that prohibited two staff members from dating and being the top personnel, she should be showing a good example.
“What will you tell your mum now that you didn’t get the job?” she asked.
“She might think I’ve been lying to her, and it could damage our relationship,” James replied. Just as he was about to pause, he quickly added, “But I have a plan, if you’ll allow it.”
“What’s the plan?” she asked, sounding hopeful.
“Can I use your office as my workspace and make a video call to my mum? I promised her I would do that today.”
“Will that resolve the current issue?” she asked.
“Yes, it will, at least for now. But then, I’ll go back to being the cab driver I used to be. I don’t know why I’m sharing all my secrets with you.”
“Really?” Juliana widened her eyes. “Is that job embarrassing?”
“Yes, and if my mum finds out I didn’t get this job, she’ll be angry with me. But I have another plan.”
“What’s the plan?” This time, James’s way of speaking brought a smile to her face.
“I’ll pretend to work for a few months, then I’ll tell my mum I’ve lost passion for the job and resigned. She’ll be initially upset, but it’ll be alright.”
“Interesting, James. You’re quite clever.”
“Before I forget, my real name isn’t James; it’s Gabriel.”
“Gabriel? Why isn’t it on your CV?” she asked.
“James is my father’s name. Since he passed away when I was young, my mum wanted to remember him, so she decided to call me James because of my resemblance to my dad.” He said.
“So technically, you want me to call you Gabriel?”
“Yes, this is another secret of my life.” Then his phone started ringing. He glanced at the screen and saw that Stephanie was calling, quickly ending the call.
“Please, can I make the video call now? My mum is calling. Ah… you have to leave the office so she won’t see you.”
“Okay,” Juliana shook her head as if processing some thoughts. “Let me go inside; when you’re done, I’ll come out.”
“Thank you so much, and thank you for understanding my situation,” James expressed his gratitude, and he watched Juliana as she left the office through a different door, not the one he had used.
The room Juliana entered was her relaxation room, and as she closed the door, she activated the office cameras, allowing her to observe everything James was doing.
James took out his phone and held it in front of his eyes for a long time.
“Who should I call first, Stephanie or my mum?” he pondered, completely unaware that Juliana was observing him.
Finally, he dialed his mum’s number for a video call and settled into Juliana’s seat.
“Hi, Mum,” he greeted with a smile.
“James, wow!” she exclaimed as James moved the phone’s camera, giving her a view of the entire office. “Your office looks so beautiful.”
“Yes, I told you I would make you proud,” he replied.
“You’ve made my day. What about the pictures on the wall?” she asked, but James hadn’t paid much attention to them.
“Oh! Those are the directors and CEO.”
“Okay, I really love your office. Text me the address, and someday I’ll come and pay you a surprise visit.”
“Sure, Mum, but if you plan to come, please call me beforehand, this job involves more of going out. I don’t want you to come and you didn’t see me in the office. I miss you so much, Mum. Bye!”
“Goodbye, James. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
He ended the call, feeling the urge to contact Stephanie immediately.
“Should I tell her I got the job or not? Which option is safer?” he contemplated.
