Her everything

Daisy's pov

The moment I grabbed Sadie's phone, my curiosity took over, and I quickly entered the numbers to unlock it. To my surprise, Sadie had changed the passcode. I thought maybe I made a mistake, so I carefully entered it again, but it showed "wrong password" on the screen. This raised my suspicions, and then I heard Sadie giggling. My mum might be right, and I immediately felt angry and left the living room, heading to my own room.

I couldn't tolerate this situation anymore. Either my dad was having an affair with Sadie or he was constantly flirting with her, and she seemed to enjoy it. But I needed evidence to support my feelings. Without evidence, both of them would surely deny it, and I might end up apologizing to them if I didn't follow it in the right way.

While I was still in my room, contemplating what to do, my bedroom door suddenly opened by Sadie. Without thinking, I angrily asked.

"Why didn't you knock?" Annoyance can be so embarrassing. It was just a reflex response that came out of my mouth. Even Sadie was taken aback. She had a smile on her face when she entered, but upon seeing my expression and hearing my tone, she froze for a moment before saying,

"I'm sorry," and she stood there not knowing if she should sit down or go out of my room.

"Wouldn't you like to sit down?" I pointed to the bed, and as soon as she sat, she said,

"I know you're still upset with me because of what happened last night. I'm truly sorry, and it won't happen again. I was so emotionally overwhelmed and I acted stupidly."

"I'm not angry," I mumbled, looking at the floor and shifting my legs. But she didn't believe me and she said and demonstrated her hands,

"Your tone. You've never used that tone with me before. You have every right to be angry. I didn't even think of my safety. I was so selfish that I thought of myself." She paused and appeared very uncomfortable.

What if everything I had in my mind about Sadie wasn't true? What if I was angry with her for no reason? What if her bra ended up in my dad's room by mistake? What if their laughter was just their usual laughter, and I had these negative thoughts unnecessarily?

During the short time I was contemplating, the room fell silent, and it seemed like she didn't know what to say because she assumed I was angry. Yes, she was right. I was still angry, but I needed to calm down and gather evidence before reacting and before saying it to her face that she was a betrayal and a home destroyal. Out of the blue, a question popped into my mind, and I asked,

"Could you please tell me a little about your night and how that strange man treated you in bed?" I smiled to reassure her and make her feel comfortable sharing with me what happened last night.

The first thing I noticed was that she closed her eyes and then opened them, followed by a smile.

"To be honest, I won't lie to you. It's been a long time since I've had sex. That man was quite skilled. He gradually got me in the mood," Sadie suddenly burst into laughter.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

"The man told me to have more wine so that he wouldn't go easy on me. I thought he was joking. He spread my legs wide open, and he gave me what I've been longing for," Sadie replied.

"Did you scream?" I inquired.

"I screamed several times," Sadie said with a very deep sense of humor.

"Wow! I can see the joy in your eyes. It sounds like if you had the chance again, you'd let him do it," I commented.

"I would, but I'm not desperate to go looking for him. I'm content hmm… but it was an unforgettable night or probably because it's been a long time since I had spent a night with a man," she replied.

As I turned to look at Sadie more closely, my hand accidentally knocked my phone off the bed, and it fell to the ground, resulting in a cracked screen.

"Oh my goodness! My phone!" I exclaimed, and Sadie was the one who got up from the bed and picked it up.

"The screen isn't too damaged," Sadie said.

"But I wanted to use my phone later. I don't think the screen will work properly now, and I have an important call to make,” I lamented.

"If you need to make any calls, you can use my phone," Sadie offered sincerely.

I didn't expect Sadie to say something like that, and I felt as though I had won the jackpot as getting to search her phone has been my goal.

"That's very kind of you," I said, putting on a cheerful face. This was a golden opportunity right in front of me. Then I said,

"Let me call my boyfriend. I have an urgent and confidential message to tell him."

Sadie immediately stood up and retrieved her phone, entering her new password before handing it to me without thinking twice. I dialed my boyfriend's number and went into my bathroom, closing the door. I didn't even look at Sadie's face. All I wanted was to see the messages on her phone. I closed the door and quickly opened the messaging app on her phone. Just as I was about to read his messages, I pretended to make a fake call, speaking as if I was talking to my boyfriend, so that Sadie wouldn't suspect anything. Then I decided to dial

my dad's number on her phone to see what name she used to save his contact before checking her messages.

"What?" I exclaimed as soon as I saw that Sadie saved my dad's number as "My everything."

"I hope nothing happened to your boyfriend?" Sadie asked, concerned about my sudden outburst.

"No, no, nothing," I quickly replied to her. Then I went to her messaging app. From the first message in her inbox, I saw numerous messages from my dad, and I immediately copied all the messages and forwarded them to my own phone number. What I forgot was that my phone was still on the bed near Sadie. Then I heard Sadie saying,

"Daisy, someone just sent you a message.”

"O…Okay," I hurriedly left the bathroom as if it was a life-saving message. After retrieving my phone, I returned to the bathroom with another mission in mind—to copy the messages she had sent to my dad. Once I had copied all the messages, I deleted any traces that indicated I had sent messages to my own number. My first inclination was to read the messages in front of Sadie, but I immediately disagreed and I took several deep breaths.

However, as I stood in the bathroom, I started having second thoughts about reading the messages before coming out of the bathroom. I worried that it might drive me crazy and that I wouldn't be able to control myself. The best choice was to go out and meet my mum. I stepped out of the bathroom, and my demeanor changed.

"What's wrong, Daisy?" Sadie asked.

"Nothing. I want to see my mum," I replied, grabbing my bag and preparing to leave my room. I was just waiting for her to come out before I would lock the door.

"What's the matter?" she asked again, oblivious to the fact that I was upset because of her. But I didn't answer.

"Is it about your boyfriend?" she pressed further. Still, I remained silent and walked out of the room, standing by the door, waiting for her to come out.

Sadie felt dissatisfied, as she emerged from my room, and I slammed the door shut, locking it. Then I started walking out of the house.

"When did you start keeping things from me? Aren't we friends?" Sadie asked with a sincere expression, but I continued to stay quiet and walked straight to my car, driving away. I was relieved that I didn't utter a word. I wouldn't have been able to hold back and say something according to how I was feeling, and then she would know I was angry because of her.

"So my dad is Sadie's everything?" I muttered to myself. "Does that mean it was my dad who slept with her yesterday?" I opened my eyes.

The moment I asked myself that question, I abruptly parked the car on the side of the road after driving for about ten minutes in great anger. I took out my phone to read all the messages I had forwarded to myself, and the first message I opened started with,

"My Honey…”
