Your boyfriend will keep you company

Daisy rushed into the room and immediately noticed Sadie lying in bed, still fast asleep. She gently tapped Sadie on the shoulder.
"Sadie! What happened to you?" Daisy asked, her voice soft but filled with worry.
Sadie slowly stirred, her eyes fluttering open, still heavy with sleep. She turned to face Daisy, looking a little confused and disoriented. Daisy, feeling more concerned now, sighed and quickly left the room to head to the kitchen, where her dad, Justin, was busy preparing breakfast.
"Dad, have you seen Sadie this morning?" she asked, entering the kitchen.
Justin turned from the stove where he was stirring a pot. He gave Daisy a quick glance before answering, “I thought she was still in bed. I’m just finishing breakfast so she can eat before she heads out.”
Daisy nodded, leaning against the counter. "It seems like she drank a lot last night.”
“Poor girl,” Justin said, shaking his head. “It happens. Just remind her her flight’s at 9 a.m.”
Daisy sighed again, more heavily this time, and rushed back to Sadie’s room. When she walked in, Sadie was finally sitting up in bed, now wearing a light robe, rubbing her forehead.
"Why didn’t you lock the door before sleeping?" Daisy asked, frowning.
"I didn’t lock it? I don’t even remember going to bed," Sadie replied, still a bit groggy. “I was in the bathroom, the shower was on… Did you turn it off?”
Daisy laughed lightly, shaking her head. "You’re a mess! Anyway, Dad booked you an early flight.”
Sadie blinked, still trying to gather her thoughts. “I thought my flight was at noon?”
“Nope, 9 a.m. You’ve got less than two hours. Better get moving,” Daisy said, pulling Sadie up from the bed and gently pushing her toward the bathroom.
After helping her into the bathroom, Daisy made her way back to the kitchen, where her dad was busy cooking. The smell of eggs and bacon filled the room.
“Do you need any help with breakfast?” she asked.
Justin turned his head slightly but didn’t stop stirring the pot. “I’m almost done here. You can start setting the table if you want.”
Daisy nodded and grabbed a tray, setting plates and cups on it before carrying it out to the dining room. As she placed the dishes on the table, she couldn’t help but think about how her dad always treated Sadie like a guest, even though she had been staying over for weeks now. ‘He never does this for me, she thought with a little smile. Guess Sadie gets the special treatment.’
Once the table was set, Daisy returned to Sadie’s room. She knocked lightly on the door.
“Need help packing?” she asked.
From inside the bathroom, Sadie’s voice was muffled by the sound of the shower. “Sure, if you want!”
A few minutes later, Sadie came out of the bathroom, still wrapped in a towel, her hair dripping wet. She started drying herself off when they both heard a knock on the door.
“Sadie’s getting dressed! Don’t come in!” Daisy called out, quickly making sure her dad didn’t open the door.
“You’ve got about an hour and a half, so don’t take too long,” Justin’s voice called back through the door before they heard him walk away.
Sadie chuckled softly, then hurried to grab a dress from the wardrobe, slipping into a pink gown that Justin had bought for her. As she stood in front of the mirror, fixing her hair, Daisy gave her a teasing look.
“Is he picking you up at the airport?” Daisy asked, raising her eyebrow mischievously.
“Who?” Sadie replied, pretending not to know what Daisy was implying, now applying a bit of lipstick.
Daisy rolled her eyes. “Don’t play dumb. You know who I’m talking about.”
“Oh, stop it,” Sadie laughed, tossing a few dresses onto the bed. “Can you help me pack these?”
Daisy shook her head with a grin but started folding the clothes anyway. "If this trip has anything to do with Leo, I swear I’ll never forgive you.”
“Relax! It’s not about Leo,” Sadie said with a playful smirk, zipping up her suitcase.
Once they finished packing, they both left the room and headed for the dining table. As they walked through the hallway, the smell of breakfast greeted them, and Sadie smiled.
“Your dad’s a fantastic cook,” she said, sniffing the air.
“Yeah, but he never cooks like this when it’s just me around,” Daisy joked, and they both laughed.
Justin was already sitting at the table when they arrived. “How’d you sleep, Sadie?” he asked, looking up from his coffee.
“Well, aside from…” Sadie began to say, but Daisy cut in with a laugh.
“She got drunk and passed out without even locking the door!”
Justin chuckled. “You should take it easy on the wine next time.”
Sadie smiled sheepishly. “Lesson learned.”
They finished breakfast quickly as the time slipped away. By the time they were done eating, it was almost 8 a.m., and Sadie glanced at the clock, suddenly realizing she didn’t have much time.
“I need to get going,” she said, standing up quickly.
Justin nodded, and Daisy rushed to grab Sadie’s luggage, carrying it out to the car. Justin stayed behind with Sadie for a few moments, watching her as she fixed her dress. He couldn’t help but admire her. ‘Her boyfriend must be a lucky man,’ he thought briefly, then shook the thought from his mind.
“Dad! We’re waiting!” Daisy called from outside, breaking his thoughts.
Justin snapped out of it and followed them to the car. Sadie and Daisy sat in the back as Justin drove to the airport. The car ride was mostly quiet, with only a few bits of conversation here and there. Sadie had about thirty minutes left before her flight.
As they approached the airport, Daisy nudged Sadie playfully. “I’m going to miss you.”
Sadie smiled and teased back, “Don’t worry, your boyfriend will keep you company while I’m gone.” They both laughed as Justin made a phone call.
Once they reached the airport, they said their goodbyes. Sadie hugged Daisy tightly and gave Justin a quick hug as well. She grabbed her bag and went inside the airport.
On the plane, as it took off, Sadie couldn’t stop thinking about the man she was going to meet. Her heart raced with excitement. Tomorrow’s going to be amazing, she thought to herself, smiling as the plane soared into the sky. ‘What should I wear? Does it even matter if the room will be dark?’ Her mind wandered with anticipation.
