Misunderstanding

Sadie’s pov

He smiled and looked me in the eyes, then asked, “Do you want my wife to come back? I need you to tell me the truth.”
At first, I thought it was a simple question, but as I started to think it through, my heart raced, and I found myself asking, “What’s going on between you and your wife?”
“It’s a complicated situation with her, one that you probably wouldn’t understand. Let’s not talk about it.” Just then, we heard the sound of a car approaching the house before it came to a stop.
“Justin, my mum and her boyfriend are coming.” Justin, who had been standing close to me, chose to sit down.
“I would love to meet your mum. I have never met her before.”
“Please don't tell him..” there was a knock on the door before I could conclude what I wanted to say and Justin nodded his head. On getting to the door and opening it, it was my mother and her boyfriend, it was Paul and he came alone.
“Paul, you still came?”
“I told you I was going to come,” he displayed some form of happiness with the movement of his body.
“But unfortunately,” I lowered my voice and pointed into the house.
“Who?” Paul asked.
“My friend's dad, Daisy. I guess you know Daisy.”
“Yes I do. Is he inside, let me go and meet me.” He said and we both entered the house and they shook hands.
“Please come, let's talk.” I took Paul into my room and lowered my voice.
“We are about to go out now. Can we talk later? What made you come here?”
“Sadie, I came here on a serious matter.”
“What's that?” I asked and I didn't envisaged how serious it was until he said,
“I'm getting a divorce.”
I thought it was one of his pranks and I laughed at first.
“With who?” I took a step closer to him and my eyes were waiting for his answer.
“My wife Sara.”
“Wasn't she the one who spoke on the phone’s background when we were talking?”
“Yes!”
“But she spoke very nicely.”
“Yes, that's what we had planned to do. To divorce in a very smooth manner with someone suspecting us.”
“Are you guys doing this? You both look great…”
“She is seeing someone else. I was heartbroken and when you called me at noon, it was a miracle. I never felt the way I laughed for some many years. You made me come to life again. Thank you so much…”
“For what?” I asked.
“For calling me. You saved my heavy heart from falling.” He said and tucked my hair at the right side of my face to the back and held my both hands.
“Please, can we go out tomorrow? Please, don't say no. Soon, Carol will be leaving me.” There were enormous pains in his eyes and I didn't know when I held his hand for comfort.”
“It's a matter of time, you will be able to overcome all of this.” There was great empathy in my voice and without me foreseeing it, he embraced me and I didn't think otherwise when he did it and because of his troubles, I soon forgot that Justin was in the sitting room waiting for me. The moment I remembered, I said,
“Oh, I needed to take Daisy's dad somewhere.” And I walked out of my room and he followed me and we were still discussing in a lower tone until we got to the exit door and he only held my right hand and placed it against his cheek.
“I hope you will call me later when you are free?”
“I will. We will talk. Don't think about it that much.”
“Thank you so much Sadie. You are such a gift,” and he left me at the door as my entire body language was showing him that I wanted to attend to Justin. I stood at the door and watched Paul as he entered his car and we waved our hands before I closed the door and walked up to Justin.
It was obvious and this wasn't the look on his face before, but he tried to smile. Still, his facial expressions became a great concern to me.
“What's wrong?” I asked and I wanted to know.
“Sadie, I'm fine. Go inside and get dressed and let's go out.” Justin said and I could feel that his voice was lacking those emotions it had when he first came. I went inside and started asking myself.
“What did I do wrong?” I stood in front of the mirror and I immediately traced it to Paul.
“But I didn't kiss him. I said as I was dressing up and when I was done, putting on a light green gown, I came out and said,
“If you don't tell me why you are angry, I am not going out with you. I'm feeling you are hiding something from me and my feelings are not lying to me.”
“I will tell you only if you go out with me,” he smiled for the first time since Paul left and it relieved me a little.
Then we came out of the house and went into his car and he drove away. Just about ten minutes drive, he said,
“Can you take me to any calm and lovely place where we can relax and have some wine?”
“Yes, I can and we can go to my favorite bar.”
On our way, my phone started ringing and it was Daisy.
“Hi my beloved Daisy. How are you?”
“Fine. I just wanted to ask if my dad still came to your place?”
“He came and we are going out for a drink.”
“That's so good. It will at least take the introvert away from you for a while,” she smiled and she was trying to make fun of me.
“Daisy, I'm not that topical introvert as you think. I become comfortable when I see I am safe when I am with you.”
“Introvert!” She exclaimed and I couldn't stop laughing.
“I will call you when I am back.”
“I hope you will come with my dad, please,” Daisy pleaded.
“Okay, let's see how it goes.”
“Just tell me yes, and I will be fine.” She insisted.
“Please, I will get back to you later.” As I was talking, I was using my left hand to direct where we were going to Justin and just at the end of the call, Justin stopped in front of a unique bar.
A few minutes later, we sat down and Justin ordered for my favorite wine even when he doesn't love my kind of wine like that.
“The moment he took a sip, he placed his hand on my fingers and said,
“Who is that young man to you that came to your house?” And he looked into my eyes and some certain degree of fear held me as he became cold again.
