Far away hotel

Juliana's POV
Why couldn’t I sleep last night after receiving a call from Johnson, knowing we were going to meet the next day? I remembered our conversation vividly, as though it were years ago, like the way he used to call me before I closed my eyes to sleep. How did my body instantly recognize his call? It was 9:50 PM, and I was lying in bed beside Gabriel. He had come over early, staying at my house for the first time since we reunited. We hadn’t waited until nightfall to make love; after dinner, we found ourselves tangled in bed, kissing and being intimate.
Gabriel had already fallen asleep when my phone rang. Seeing Johnson’s name on the screen, I quietly left the bedroom and walked to the living room to answer. I didn’t want Gabriel overhearing our conversation.
“Hi Johnson, you’re calling late…” I said.
“Have you changed your sleeping schedule?” he interrupted quickly, as though he already knew my answer. He remembered I usually went to sleep around 10 PM.
“Do you still remember my habits? I thought you would have forgotten,” I replied softly.
“Why would I? You were my first love, and you’re still imprinted in my heart.”
“Hmm… even now?” I tried to stop him from getting too sentimental.
“Yes. Ever since you decided to stop seeing me… I’m glad your mum told me about your daughter’s event. I hope I’ll get to meet you there.”
“Johnson, I told you, I’m with someone.”
“Okay. Then I’d love to meet that someone at the event,” he ended the call abruptly, a hint of annoyance in his voice. I sighed, holding my phone to my chest as I paced around the living room.
“What’s wrong?” Gabriel’s voice startled me. I turned sharply, not realizing he had followed me. My phone slipped from my hand and fell to the floor.
“What are you doing here?” he asked again, his brow furrowed.
“Nothing,” I lied quickly.
“Nothing?” He walked up to me, gently taking my right hand and pressing his ear to my chest. “Your heart is racing. Why are you hiding something from me?”
Seeing his concern, I forced another lie. “It’s about my company. Our stocks are going down.”
Gabriel’s expression softened. “Calm down, dear. Don’t let that steal your sleep. Let’s go back to bed. When your head hits the pillow, you’ll think clearer tomorrow.” He lifted me up effortlessly, and I clung to his broad chest, feeling comforted by his words.
To lighten the mood, he offered me his nipple playfully. We both burst into laughter, and as we returned to the bed, we made love again. Gabriel fell asleep soon after, but I couldn’t close my eyes. At midnight, I picked up my phone and sent Johnson a message:
My dear Johnson, I’m sorry for what I said. Can we meet tomorrow? I’ll send you the location once I leave the house.
Johnson replied almost immediately:
Thanks for your message. I can sleep now. Why don’t you come to my place?
I didn’t reply. Eventually, I fell asleep, only to be awakened by a soft kiss on my cheek the next morning. It was Gabriel, already dressed and ready to start the day.
“Darling, aren’t you going to work today?” he asked gently.
Still groggy, I turned over and closed my eyes. Moments later, the aroma of my favorite dish wafted into the room, pulling me out of my drowsiness. Gabriel returned with a beaming smile.
“Breakfast is ready,” he announced.
“Wow! I thought I was dreaming,” I said, smiling back at him.
“I exhausted you last night, so I wanted to replenish you,” he said with a wink.
We laughed, and I joined him at the dining table. As I settled into my seat, my phone rang. Before I could react, Gabriel stood up. “I’ll get it,” he said.
Panic gripped me. My heart raced again. I knew it had to be Johnson. Gabriel returned moments later, but the call had ended. I quickly checked my phone and dialed Johnson back as soon as Gabriel stepped into the kitchen.
“Hi Johnson, good morning. I’ll get back to you,” I said hurriedly.
“How was your night?” he asked insistently.
“Fine,” I replied curtly, glancing at the kitchen door. Seeing Gabriel still preoccupied, I added quickly, “Can we talk later? I’ll call you on my way to work.”
Johnson sighed. “Okay.”
I ended the call just as Gabriel returned with cutlery. After breakfast, Gabriel teased me with an offer. “Can I help you take a shower?”
“No,” I laughed. “I’ll be late for work. Maybe later.”
As I showered, my mind raced with thoughts of seeing Johnson. I got dressed quickly, only to find Gabriel already in a black suit, ready to drive me to work.
“Let me be your driver,” he said, smiling warmly.
“Driver? I’d prefer to drive myself. I don’t want to trouble you,” I said, trying to keep my plans intact.
“If you’ve truly accepted me into your life, let me drive you,” he countered gently.
Reluctantly, I agreed. As I settled into the car, I quickly texted Johnson: There’s an emergency at the office. I’ll see you after work.

Sadie’s POV
Everything was arranged perfectly for Daisy’s event, thanks to Justin, who had secretly helped me with logistics and the venue. In the days leading up to the party, Daisy spent a lot of time at home, which meant Justin and I hadn’t been intimate for a while.
One evening, as Daisy sat in my room chatting with her mum on the phone, I received a text from Justin:
How long will you deny me my other food? You’ll be leaving soon. Is this how you want to treat me?
I hesitated. The only safe place for us to meet was outside the house, but Juliana had already seen us at a bar once. That incident made hotels seem risky.
I replied quickly while Daisy was distracted:
We can’t now. Daisy is close to me. She knows I’m leaving soon.
Are you leaving me like this? Justin shot back.
What should we do? I asked.
A hotel.
We almost got caught last time.
We’ll go far away, he insisted.
The thought of it made my heart race. “I’d like to do my hair tomorrow,” I told Daisy casually.
“When?” she asked.
“Between 12 and 1 PM,” I said, recalling her earlier plans to meet her mum around that time.
The next day, as soon as Daisy left the house, I called Justin. “Where are you?”
“At the hotel. I’ll send you the address. It’s an hour away.”
Excited, I quickly dressed, hailed a cab, and headed to the hotel. As I stepped out of the car, I froze. Standing near the entrance, holding hands with another woman and laughing, was Daisy’s boyfriend.
