This can't be mum again

Daisy's pov

How did such a unique idea come to my mind? This is the perfect solution for what Sadie did to me. Sadie and my dad carried out their secret deeds, and now I'm about to expose it to the public. I won't feel any regret for what I'm about to do to someone I once called my best friend, who has been secretly involved with my dad.

I can still remember the time when my mom almost lost her temper, demanding to know what was making me angry, and out of nowhere, I started smiling. I experienced two contrasting emotions simultaneously.

"What are you waiting for? I've already apologized to you about my affair with Gabriel. It's difficult to live without him," my mom said.

"From this moment on, I support your relationship with Gabriel," I replied.

"Are you serious?" She widened her eyes in surprise. "Why? What happened that you're not telling me?"

"My dad doesn't deserve you, and I want to reveal something you've always wanted to hear. Make me one of the directors in your company. It's what you've always wanted me to become, to learn from you and eventually take over when the time is right." I smiled at my mom.

"Are you serious about what you just said? Or you are a little bit drunk?" she asked.

"Yes, I am serious. In fact, I want to throw a small party to invite everyone who knows you and my dad, including my best friend's mom."

"That's sweet of you. When did you make up your mind?" she asked.

"A few days ago, and I want to follow in your footsteps, just as you followed your parents' footsteps. Moreover, what is in life that we should keep struggling with? Life is simple and we are the ones making it difficult.”

"This is so touching. It calls for a celebration. Your grandparents will be truly delighted. I guess your boyfriend has talked to you about this…”

“Not my boyfriend's idea. Do not give credit to my boyfriend. If you have forgotten, my boyfriend has gone back,” I said.

My mom smiled and she moved closer and hugged me. As we embraced, I quickly remembered that Sadie might be hiding my dad just the way I'm embracing my mum since I wasn't at home with them. I felt angry immediately and said,

"Can I please go and share this news with my dad and friend?"

"Why not? For me, it's a battle won without measure. I'm very proud of you. I thought you would always side with your dad because of the immense care he showers on you."

I pulled away from my mom, rushed out of her house, hopped into my car, and drove away. Several minutes later, I stood in front of my dad's house. The anxiety I felt when I left my dad's house had disappeared, as I thought about how I would humiliate my dad and best friend at the event by my speech. Essentially, the ceremony where I proclaimed that my mom had made me one of his directors was just an opportunity to publicly expose what Sadie and my dad had been doing. Only such a public disgrace would be enough to satisfy my anger.

I got out of my car and entered my dad's house. There was a smile on my face, as the plan I was plotting brought me great joy.

The first place I went to was Sadie's room, and she was there alone. The moment I entered, I could tell something had changed. I noticed Sadie packing her bags with clothes.

"What is happening here? What are you doing?" I asked.

"I'll soon be going back to my city," she replied. In my mind, I thought, after sleeping with my dad? You won't get away with it that easily.

"When? Now that I want to celebrate my success of becoming one of my mom's directors. Even if you want to leave, it should be after the celebration."

"When is the celebration party?" she asked.

"Within the next week?”

"Why can't I leave and return a day before the party?" Sadie asked.

"Can you repeat what you just said? Who will be there to make arrangements? Who will handle the logistics? I should be the one to rest for a while, and a few days before the party, I will come back. Please, don't be selfish." I said with anger, not anger from what she just said but anger from what she had done with my dad.

"Okay, I'm sorry. I was thinking about what I need to do in my city."

"Please, abandon for my sake what you want to do in your city. If that's the case, I'll move the date to this Saturday. I'm putting you in charge of the event. You'll have complete control over the venue, colors, and food, but there's one thing I'll handle."

"What's that?" Sadie asked.

"The guest list. I'll decide who gets invited. I'll send out the invitations, and some will go through you."

Sadie looked at me with her beautiful eyes and hugged me.

"I'd love to use this opportunity to show how affectionate you are," she said, and I patted her back with a smirk.

Author's pov

Juliana was sitting alone in her living room, engrossed in watching her large TV when her phone suddenly started ringing. She glanced at the phone and saw that it was her mom calling, even though they had just spoken a few minutes ago.

"Hello, Mum. Did you forget to tell me something?" Juliana asked.

"Yes, I forgot, but it's nice to share it with you. Guess who I saw today at the airport. You won't believe it."

"Who?" Juliana asked, her mom's expression making her sit upright.

"It's Johnson Morgan..."

"Johnson?" Juliana exclaimed, interrupting her mom.

"Yes, and we had a long conversation. I humbled myself and begged for his forgiveness. I realized the damage your dad and I caused to your relationship with me."

"Oh my goodness, please don't make me remember what happened in the past,” Juliana said.

"I just wanted to let you know that before he left, he asked for your new number and said he doesn't have it.."

"Did you give it to him?" Juliana asked, feeling a bit fearful.

"I did."

"Did he say he would call me?" Juliana asked, getting up from her seat.

"Why are you acting like a child? Of course, he will call you. I could see the emotions in his eyes. I know he will call you."

"Okay, okay, I'll talk to you later," Juliana ended the call.

"Johnson Morgan, why is it that every time I hear that name, I feel like I've done something wrong or owe him something? Johnson, my first boyfriend. He was someone my dad didn't want me to marry, especially after he became a big fan of my ex-husband in baseball," Juliana thought, pacing around. Just as she was about to lean against the wall to rest, her phone, which was on the couch, started ringing.

"This can't be my mom again..." she thought, feeling panicked.
