Forget about Leo...

There was a knock on the door of Sadie's mother's house. It was in the morning, close to 9:00 am. Sadie's mum's name was Patricia. She was in her early forties, and her daughter had inherited her beautiful figure, and her curves were still very visible.
Patricia was in the bathroom when she first heard the knock on the door. She wasn't expecting any visitors that morning. When she heard the knock, she thought maybe Sadie had planned a surprise visit, but it seemed too early for Sadie to leave Daisy's city and arrive so soon.
"Maybe it's one of my neighbors," she thought, slightly shrugging her shoulders. She was almost finished bathing and called out,
"I'm coming. Give me a few minutes." She raised her voice. The person at the door probably heard her voice because they didn't knock again.
Patricia came out of the bathroom and, not knowing who was at the door, quickly cleaned herself up. Without applying lotion, she put on a yellow gown and hurried to the front door in the sitting room. She knew she had kept the person waiting and her only intention was to apologize for the delay. That's what she had prepared to say.
"I'm right here with you," she said almost simultaneously while her right hand reached for the doorknob, opening it. And there, she was surprised to see the person patiently standing a few inches away from the door, accompanied by an energetic elderly man.
"Leo!" Patricia exclaimed. "What are you doing here?" she added. Leo was wearing a white shirt and expensive trousers, and in his right hand, he held a white and rose rose, though he initially hid it behind his back. For a full sixty seconds, Patricia looked at him, waiting for his response. His face showed both shame and fear, evident in the way he blinked his eyes. Patricia already had an idea of what was about to happen, and she folded her hands. She couldn't smile or get angry, and besides, the person he had come to see wasn't in the house.
"I'm dreaming? Leo, for the last time, what are you doing here? What did you forget that you wanted to take in this house?" she asked sternly.
"Ma..." he stammered, but Patricia interrupted him with a tone of anger imagining what Sadie had passed through because of his action.
"Go straight to the point of why you came here."
"I... I came to see Sadie, and this is my assistant, a baseball coach and human psychologist."
"So..." Patricia opened her hands and acted sarcastically, and waited for an explanation.
"Good morning, ma'am. I apologize for coming at this time. Leo has been a wonderful player in our club, but his unsettled emotions are ruining his career. That's why we are here." The assistant paused as Leo wanted to say something.
"Please, can I see Sadie?" Leo asked.
"Are you sure you want to see Sadie? The same Sadie you almost drove to commit suicide. You should have informed your coaching crew about what you did to her. To end this conversation, and to be honest with you, Sadie is not here."
"Please, I'm sorry. You need to help me, you are the only one that can help me talk to her first," Leo pleaded.
"Help you? You are taking the wrong path." Patricia widened her eyes surprisedly.
"Yes, ma'am. We need your help."
"Leo is right, we need your help. All that he has done must be out of inexperience." The man standing close to Leo said.
"Please, excuse me from this situation. It's all your fault. I won't stand in your way to meet Sadie, but why didn't you call her first? She went to see her friend weeks ago. But if you had any humanity left in you, you wouldn't have done what you did to her." Patricia slammed the door in Leo's face and went inside.
Patricia went straight to her room to get dressed, and the first thing she did was pick up her phone and dial her daughter's number. She was fixing her hair as her daughter's phone rang and she put the phone on speaker mode.
"Hello, Mum. Good morning," Sadie cheerfully greeted, and Daisy's voice could be heard in the background saying,
"Turn off the gas burner..."
"Sadie!" Patricia exclaimed, trying to get her attention, and she could hear the sound of frying meat.
"Mum, I'm sorry for the delay. Okay, you can talk to me now. Daisy is helping me out now. How are you doing, Mum? I'm sorry I didn't call you yesterday. Daisy's mum had a little celebration."
"Great! So, how is life over there?"
"It's fine...!"
"Sadie, guess what? You won't believe who knocked on my door this morning," Patricia interrupted.
"Who? My dad?" Sadie asked eagerly.
"Hmm... far from that."
"Then who?"
"Leo…"
"Leo?" Sadie raised her voice. "I hope you didn't let him into the house?"
"No, no. Has he called you?"
"No. Why would he call me? I have nothing to do with him. No, no, let him call me. I have plenty to say to his face. I want him to call me. He must be stupid. I'm glad you told him to call me. And he even brought an older man, claiming that Leo's emotional state is affecting his performance on the pitch."
"Has he forgotten what he did to me?" Sadie asked.
"Darling, when are you coming?" her mum asked.
"I don't know for now. I'm still here. But Mum..." Sadie stressed the last word and walked out of the kitchen to her room.
"Yes," Patricia answered.
"What about my dad? It's been twenty-four years, and I haven't seen the man who fathered me. I don't like sharing this with anyone, but it bothers me. If he were dead, seeing his grave would bring some kind of closure, but not seeing him at all has created an unfillable hole in my heart. I didn't even tell my best friend; she thought you guys got divorced. I just needed to hide the truth from everyone."
"Sadie, I understand your pain, but if you keep dwelling on that, it will weigh you down. I have to go now because... hmm, I don't want to tell you."
"But Mum, be honest with me," she raised her voice.
"Okay, I will discuss it with you later. Just know that I am doing my best. Your conception is still a mystery, and it's the most painful thing I have ever experienced. Let's focus on other things for now. We will talk later."
When Sadie said, "Okay," Patricia ended the call. Sadie couldn't move from where she was standing in her room and leaned her left shoulder against the wall.
"Dad, where are you? Is Mum hiding something from me?"
"What are you thinking about?" Daisy startled Sadie. She stood up, turned towards Daisy, and placed her right hand on her chest. Her breathing suddenly became heavy.
"You scared me. Why did you do that? I was lost in thought."
"About Leo or something else? Is it because your mum said Leo came to your house? Please, don't make me angry. Are you still in love with that wicked person? Please, don't make me angry."
"That's not what I'm thinking about." Sadie hit her legs on the floor to emphasize her point.
"So, tell me, what are you thinking about?" she suddenly burst out laughing.
"You want to keep your thoughts hidden from me," Daisy added.
In order to conceal her true thoughts, Sadie walked closer to Daisy and said,
"Yeah, you're right. I was actually thinking about Leo, but not about him coming back. I was thinking about the words to say to him."
"If that's the case, you're doing the right thing. I thought you were missing me and getting ready to go back home."
"No!"
"Let's forget about Leo. Breakfast is ready. Let me go and call my dad. You can wait for us at the dining table."
"Okay, thanks for helping me finish cooking."
"I'll only accept your thanks if..."
"If what?" Sadie interrupted her.
"If you tell me who you have a crush on at the party yesterday."
"Daisy, you're so playful. I told you I was kidding," they both giggled, and Sadie playfully pushed Daisy towards the stairs before leaving her as she went up to call her dad for breakfast.
As Sadie walked towards the dining table, she quietly said to herself,
"What came over me to say such a thing in front of Daisy? Alcohol! Hmm... look at what it caused. I'm glad Daisy's mind didn't go in her dad's direction. In her wildest dreams, she wouldn't think about that for a second. Now I realize what that dating app has done to me. It has completely changed my preferences towards liking older men."
She gradually transitioned from speaking out to quietly thinking as she heard Daisy and her dad's footsteps on the stairs. A few seconds later, both of them pulled out their dining chairs to sit down.
After a few moments, they all started eating, and there was no sound except for the chewing. Everything was going fine, and Sadie's thoughts were focused on her food until they heard a notification sound from Sadie's phone. As she looked at the screen, she saw Leo's name under the message icon, indicating that she had received a message from him. The moment she saw Leo's name, her expression changed, and Justin, who Sadie thought wasn't paying attention, said,
"What's wrong?" This caught Daisy's attention, and she raised her face to look at Sadie.
"Sadie, what's the matter?"
