Chapter 12:
Pythia POV:
I looked at Tye who was looking at me smiling, "What?" I asked. "Rex wants to meet you again." Tye said. "Oh my Rex! When can I talk with him?" I asked, smiling. "I can let him come out and speak, he has been pouting since the fight." Tye replied. "Okay well him and I can talk while we walk." I said, wrapping my arm around his. When he didn't reply I looked up to see the familiar green eyes I had once met. "Rex?" I asked. All I got was a lopsided grin. "Ah my beauty I didn't think you would be able to tell the difference." Rex replied. "Well of course I can. You have a different eye color." I replied. "Tye has been rude and hasn't let me out to talk to you yet. Thank you for letting me come out." Rex said, kissing the back of my hand. "I don't think he trusted you just yet, I have a lot to learn about wolves. I will say you are the most handsome wolf I have ever seen though." I said smiling. "Now you are just flattering me, my beauty. I have been waiting for you for so long and now you have blessed me with a pup!" Rex said excitedly as he placed a hand over my little bump I now had. "Well I couldn't have made him or her without you and Tye. I honestly didn't think I would ever get a mate and I certainly didn't think I would meet you in the middle of a battle." I said remembering how he stood over me.
"What is going on through your head?" Rex asked, pulling me closer to him. "Just how you stood over me the first time we met. Oh and how you growled at me." I said giggling. "Okay I only stood over you to protect you, and I didn't know it was you that bumped into me but I am very sorry for growling at you. I won't do it again." Rex said. "It's okay, I figured out what you were trying to do. Although the bark was adorable." I said laughing. "I didn't mean to bark! I didn't know what to do that didn't sound aggressive.!" Rex said as he tickled my sides. "It was cute! You can bark at me any day of the week." I replied. "Now that we are mated I don't have to bark you know, we can speak through a link." Rex said. Wait what? How did I not know that? "Don't think too much about my beauty, it is easy to do. Just think of me and speak." Rex whispered in my ear. Okay just think of him or Tye and talk. "Can you hear me?" I said feeling a little bit silly, "Yes, I can. See I told you. Easy." Rex replied, making me jump. "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to scare you." Rex said quickly with sadness in his voice. "You didn't scare me my wolf I promise I just didn't know if it worked or not." I replied snuggling in to him. As we walked through the doors a woman walked up to us smiling.
"You must be Pythia, it is a pleasure to meet you. I'm Julie." She said, offering her hand out to me. I shook her hand and smiled. "It is a pleasure to meet you. This is Tye, my mate." I said looking up at him. I noticed his eyes had changed back so I knew they had switched. "Well let's have a look at the little bundle of joy, I must say you all picked impeccable timing." Julie said laughing. I couldn't help but laugh with her because she was right. None of us had this planned but at least our kids will have friends right? "I don't think anyone had that one planned out." Tye said laughing. We walked into a room with a monitor and a bed and for some reason I started to feel a little nervous. "Please lay on the bed and raise your shirt just under your breasts." Julie said. Tye helped me up on the bed and I did exactly what she said because even though she looked sweet and innocent she had this thing about her where I knew she would tear someone apart if she needed to. "Now this is going to be a little cold okay?" She said holding up a tube with jelly in it. She squirted some on my belly making me jump a little bit before she grabbed some other little tool and smoothed it out.
I held my breath as she pulled the monitor closer and a fast little heartbeat sounded off in the room and tears filled my eyes. That is the heartbeat. This is real, there is a baby in there. "If you look here, you will see the baby is already very active. I have my guess on what it is going off the heartbeat." Julie said, pulling me from my own thoughts. I looked at the monitor to see what looked like a little jelly bean wiggling around. "You think you know what it is?" Tye asked as he stared at the screen. "I believe so. Due to the heartbeat I will say that it is a girl." Julie replied. A girl? A daughter! Oh goddess this is a surprise I thought it would be a boy. "I love her already.." Tye whispered. I melted at the sight of him. We didn't know for sure and he was already swooning over the baby.
I stared at the monitor and watched the little bean bounce around like my uterus was a trampoline. I couldn't help but smile, I never thought that I would be a mother but here I am. When Julie was done Tye helped me clean up and I sat up on the bed and looked at him. I could see the wheels turning in his head. "What is it?" I asked. "My life is flashing before my eyes. A girl. A girl! She can't date ever. No boys allowed. I swear I will have her surrounded by everyone." Tye rambled off. I mentally rolled my eyes and laughed. "Well that is a long time from now. You shouldn't worry." I replied giggling. "No, no first thing when she is born. No boys allowed other than her cousins of course.'' Tye said standing to his feet, he started pacing around making me laugh. I watched him have an argument with himself and possibly Rex. "You both need to calm down, it could always be a boy we aren't fully sure just yet." I said easily.
Tye grunted and I couldn't help but laugh harder. "You are already a handful what am I going to do with a mini version of you?" Tye asked. "Oh come on I am not that bad." I replied standing on my feet. Tye turned and gave me a look that made me laugh harder. "Come on, we need to get to Alleys house. Stop stressing so much we still have a while." I said, hooking my arm around his. "There isn't enough time in the world to help me prepare for a girl." Tye muttered as we walked out of the office. When he walked outside he took a deep breath. "Rex doesn't like the idea of having a little mini version of you running around unprotected. He wants an entire army around her." Tye grumbled. Of course he does. If I have learned anything it is that wolves are very protective of their little girls. They train the boys to protect them. "I think you both are thinking too far in to it." I replied.
I could just imagine that Rex would be fighting Tye a lot for control but then I could imagine that neither of them would hardly leave her side. The thought of Tye carrying her around in one of those body carriers made me smile. He was going to be an excellent father. This was going to be my life. We just needed to get through the grand elders so that we could live our life in peace with the others.
