Chapter 50:
Pythia POV:
I had no idea that labor would be this painful. Full on contractions started not long ago and I have never wanted to kill someone so badly in my life but right now I wanted to rip off Tyes head. "I swear to goddess you aren't touching me for a while." I grunted through another contraction. "That's fine I will wait as long as it takes." Tye said sweetly as he took a wet washcloth and wiped the sweat off my forehead. "Why are you being so sweet. I am not being nice to you at all." I grunted. "Well I mean you are about to give birth to our son and for that alone I would take all of the mean words in the world." Tye replied softly. Okay now I just feel like a mean ass but this truly hurts. "Well let's see how you are doing." Julie announced as she walked in. "How is Ambrosia? Is her and Artemis alright?" I asked. "They are doing just fine, both of them are resting." Julie replied. I knew Ambrosia was getting close and I wanted to be thereafter but I guess Apollo had other ideas.
I grabbed on to Tyes hand and squeezed as hard as I could when Julie checked to see how far I was dilated. "Get ready to push Pythia, your little one is on his way out." Julie said and she sat down in the chair. Tye helped me sit up a little and I wrapped my arm around my left leg and my right arm around my right leg. "Keep her steady okay?" Julie asked but she didn't look up. I started feeling a lot of pressure and then it felt like I was literally about to tear in half. "Push Pythia!" Julie growled, I didn't need her to tell me twice. I took a deep breath and pushed like my life depended on it. "You are doing great my beauty." Tye whispered in my ear. My body took over and I couldn't control when to push. "Almost there Pythia, give me one more big push!" Julie said. I took one last big deep breath before I pushed even harder, I felt all the pressure instantly go away and a piercing scream echoed throughout the room. I laid back and tried to catch my breath while Julie and the nurses cleaned up Apollo.
I lifted my head slightly to see that Julie was walking back with Apollo wrapped tightly in a blue blanket. "Here is y'alls son, he is in perfect health." Julie whispered as she handed him to me. The moment I have been waiting so long for. I looked down to see our son, he had dark brown hair with fair skin, his eyes were what caught my attention the most. He had one green and one blue eye. He literally had one of my eyes and one of Tyes eyes, now that is truly fascinating. I smiled down at our precious baby, I can't believe he is here. He is finally here and I couldn't be more excited to see him grow up. "We are going to move you to Ambrosias room if that is okay." Julie stated. "Is that okay with her?" Tye asked. "She actually requested it." Julie replied. "Alright well can I rinse off or something first?" I asked. "Of course, the nurses will help you get up and stuff like that, we will have your things moved over okay?" Julie said, smiling at us. When she left two nurses walked up to me, I handed Apollo to Tye. A nurse stood on each side of me and held out their hands.
The second my feet hit the ground I regretted it, I was incredibly sore. "I'm sorry ladies." I whispered. I didn't realize how hard I was holding their arms until my own hands. "It's okay don't worry about it, let's get you in the shower." One nurse replied, smiling at me. As I stepped into the shower I was a little afraid to look down but I decided that I needed to. My belly had gone down a little bit but the amount of blood that I was expecting to see wasn't there. I grabbed a small amount of soap and washed what I could. I would have to ask Julie what all I can and can't do. I don't want to do something wrong and hurt myself. When I stepped back out one of the nurses was waiting there for me with a towel, she helped me dry off and gave me a large gown to wear. "Would you like to walk to the room or would you like for us to get you a wheelchair?" She asked. "I would actually like to walk." I replied, smiling at her. When we got back in the room Tye was standing in the middle gently rocking Apollo in his arms. A huge smile came across my face seeing the two of them.
It felt like my heart could burst at any given moment. I placed my hand around his waist and smiled up at him. There was a new found happiness in his eyes, he held Apollo out to me and I quickly wrapped him in my arms and we followed the nurses out, as we walked the hallway we were greeted with warm smiles from everyone. When we got to Ambrosias room the nurse knocked softly before opening the door. The room was bigger than I thought it would be, it held two beds and two couches with stands for the lamps and whatever else. A huge flat screen TV was mounted on the wall and the bathroom was on the opposite side. "Congratulations to both of you!" Jackson said as he walked up and hugged Tye. "Congrats to you both as well." I replied smiling. I peaked around him to see Ambrosia had Artemis snuggled against her. I quickly walked over with a huge smile. "It seems our sons wanted to be born on the same day." Ambrosia said with a slight giggle. "I am perfectly okay with that, they will be lifelong friends." I replied. "Yes, they will be. How is little Apollo?" Ambrosia asked.
