Chapter 14:
Pythia POV:
"Ah yes, those cranky old goons. I am not sorry about Jessica though. She deserved that." Ambrosia said. "Oh I am not sorry for it either. If I am being brutally honest I don't see them surviving this at all but if word gets to the grand elders that we are all being peaceful while those morons are acting out maybe they will call the trial off." I replied. "How nervous are you about this trial, Pythia?" Ambrosia asked as we entered a large room. "Truthfully Ambrosia I am going out of my head. It is extremely rare a queen gets summoned and none have come out alive which is why we have had so many other than my mother and that is because she did literally everything they asked." I rushed out taking a deep breath at the end. "Shit Pythia why didn't you tell us? We need to get this started quickly, we won't let you die. I will kill them all before they lay a hand on you." Ambrosia said as her eyes darkened. "That's just it. Only Tye can come. The others may be because they are the new council but that hasn't been blessed yet so I don't know what I am going to do." I said tearing up. "Hey, don't cry. It may not have been blessed but the goddess herself spoke it. They can not deny them nor can they deny me. I am a queen myself and if I choose to go I can. We won't let you walk in there alone." Ambrosia said, wiping the tears away that had fallen.
I don't know how they will get in but it is worth the shot. "I don't know what my future holds and that is what scares me the most but I need you to make me a promise." I said catching my breath. "Oh come now don't tell me it is a death promise Pythia. You can't think like that." Ambrosia said. "Sadly I have to think this way about Ambrosia. Believe me I don't want to but I need to make sure everything will be fine should I meet death herself. I need to make sure my baby will be looked after, so promise me should anything happen to me or Tye, you will be there for her. Guide her, raise her and please don't let her forget me." I said breaking the flood gates wide open. Ambrosia wrapped her arms around me and as she rubbed my back she whispered, "I promise, your little will be safe with me. I won't let her forget anything about who you are and where you come from. Just don't give up hope my sister." I held on to her like my life depended on it. I hated myself for even thinking this way but I knew I needed to in case I don't come out of this. "Pythia my love are you okay your emotions are everywhere?" Tye rang out through my head making me jump. Ambrosia looked at me confused. "I'll never get used to that mind linking stuff." I giggled. "Yes, my wolf I am okay, just crazy hormones." I replied.
Ambrosia led me to her bathroom and left me to clean up. I looked at myself in the mirror and my bright green eyes had started to dull and even though I had already told Tye I was going to have this conversation with Ambrosia it didn't make it any easier. We knew we had to plan and I knew he would be talking to Jackson as well. We would have asked Alley and Stephen but let's face it. She is carrying twins and I didn't want to overload her with another child. I need to remember that when I feel weak I have others to lean on. I quickly washed my face and walked back in the room feeling a little lighter than I did earlier. "So we are all gathering at Alleys on Saturday and I need to bring the clan?" Ambrosia asked, smiling at me. "Yes, I am staying with Tye at their house so that I can help when it is needed." I replied. "I think that sounds like a good idea. Maybe us girls can have a girls night to lift your spirits." Ambrosia replied. "Now that is a good idea, we could have a pajama party!" I said smiling. "Then that is what we will do, I will tell the girls when I get over to them in just a bit, now go pack a bag and I will see you tonight." Ambrosia said as we walked towards the door. "Leaving so soon?" Xanders voice rang out from behind us. "Yes she is, don't bother her you imbecile." Ambrosia snapped.
He held his hands up in protest, "I am just curious about her, we have all heard of her but haven't really met her. Even you have to admit that it is fascinating." Xander said. Why am I getting a funny feeling about him? I didn't like him being too close and Ambrosia looked like she was going to explode at any moment. "You do not need to know anything about me. It was nice to meet you, Ambrosia. I will see you in a bit, okay?" I said hugging her. "Don't be so rude, I do have a question if you don't mind." Xander called out. I tensed up. I don't like this guy. ''Actually I do mind, I bid you a good day." Was all I said before teleporting myself back to our coven house. "There you are Pythia we have been waiting for you." Stony said. "Well get ready to wait more because I am staying at Alleys for a few days, spread the word that Saturday we are having a peaceful get together at Alleys and everyone needs to be on their best behavior or lose their life." I replied. "Yes ma'am, I like this new side of you. It is time we put these heathens back in their place, oh and the new elder showed up and he is very interested in meeting you. He is for the peace by the way." Stony whispered in my ear.
Ah well that is good news. Finally an elder on my side or so I hope anyways. It was time for me to pack a bag and head out. "Tell him where I will be, if he truly believes in peace he may visit me at Alleys after dinner tonight." I replied before walking to my room, I grabbed the duffel bag and packed the essential things which wasn't much. I was just ready to get out of this place. It didn't feel like home anymore and I am looking forward to good quality girl time for once....
