Chapter 76:

Pythia POV:

Explosions were everywhere and we all scrambled to see where they would go off next, "South side border! I can feel pressure there!" Stephen roared, pure hatred and anger seethed off of him before he shifted and ran towards the south. "Shift! I'll meet you there." I said looking at Tye, I didn't even give him a second look before I took off behind Stephen. The ground shook hard and it was making it difficult to keep my balance but I couldn't let myself be knocked to the ground. Growls came from behind me and I didn't need to look to know that it was my boys catching up to me. I couldn't see Stephens wolf standing near the shield and his fur was standing straight up as he snarled and snapped at whatever or whoever was standing in front of him. I could make out a few people running along the shield line. Wolves started lining up by the shield, all of them focusing on the unknown people. 

I needed to get on the other side. I knew Tye would like what I was about to do but I couldn't just stand by and watch them lay down more bombs. It seemed like they wanted to somehow break the shield. "Denver! Do not let that shield up, do you understand me!?" I screamed at him. Denver gave one swift nod and I could see it in his eyes how hard he was fighting. "Jasper, Jenson! Come to me! Rex, I know you are about to be heavily pissed off at me but I do not have the time, we are going outside of the shield, we have to capture them, do you understand?" I shouted. "Over my dead fucking body! You are not going out there without me!" Rex shouted back with a growl. "Can I trust you not to kill them?" I snapped. Rex lowered his head and pulled his ears back, "For you I would not kill them." Rex replied softly. "Fine, stay behind me then. Boys let's go!" I shouted. Jasper and Jenson shifted back and stood beside me, together we landed on the other side of the shield.

"We need to trap them but do not harm them, they are witches." I whispered. I watched as they moved quickly but slowly, I could see the fight within them. "Spread out, be quiet and cautious." I whispered. The wolves on the other side didn't let up from their growls and it didn't bother the witches that were working quickly. I walked around so that I could come from behind and not be seen, I looked up to see that Stephens wolf was looking directly at me but I couldn't look at him for much longer. The moment the witch in front of me bent down to set the bomb I jumped on his back and wrapped my arms and legs under his making sure he couldn't use them to throw me off. I heard screaming from the sides of me and I knew that Jasper and Jenson were working to capture the others. "Stop fighting me!" I yelled in his ear. He let his body fall backwards landing on top of me. 

I felt like someone kicked me straight in the gut. I let out a grunt but didn't release my hold on him, I couldn't. "Everyone got them secured?" I yelled out. "Got mine!" Jasper yelled. "Good here." Jenson added. "Stephen, open the shield slightly for us to get in!" I yelled. "Rex, I need Tye to help me." I said looking up to Rex. Seconds later Tye was standing over me, he bent down and grabbed the man by his shirt and lifted him up. I looked over to see that the other two were women and as much as they fought they had no standing with the twins. "Take him, I need to make sure there are no more bombs around. Put them in the cells." I said gently. "I'll come back and help you." Tye replied. "We will help her." Lee said, walking towards us. "Fine, I will be back when I can." Tye replied. "Please check on Alley and Ambrosia on your way back." I said. "You never stop caring for others. One thing I love most about you." Tye replied just before he turned around and walked through the shield. 

Jasper and Jenson were behind him and they nodded at Jax and Ryan as they passed each other. "I'll bring us back in when we are done. Please go to Alley." I said looking at Stephen. He nodded once before he took off running towards the house. "We need to be careful, watch your step and if you find a bomb make sure it is not turned on before touching it. I don't need one of you being blown up." I said. "What if we come across someone else?" Jax asked. "Do not kill them unless they are a wolf. Those witches are under a spell and have no control over their movements but we need to be fast so we are not out here long." I replied. "Lee come with me, Jax and Ryan go the other way." I stated as I turned around and walked towards where the shield was now closed up. I bent down to see a little makeshift box that had two sets of wires on it. It was solid black besides a small area where numbers are supposed to appear. Purple and blue wires that were tangled with each other lead from under the box to the top of the box. 

I gently picked it up and looked a little more closely at it, how did the elders even know to make a bomb? This is what we use bags for so I doubt they even made these things. Someone else made these and they showed the witches how to turn them on. "The elders didn't make these." I said looking at it. "Who else could have?" Lee asked. "Well it is either a human or a wolf, witches don't use bombs like these. We make our own and put them in bags to be thrown from a distance. Whoever made these wanted us to know they were here and up close." I replied bitterly. "So that means whoever made them or helped make them could still be out here?" Lee asked, I heard his feet slide across the ground and I knew he was looking around. "That is a very big possibility. You need to let the other two know to watch their backs better." I replied looking up to him. His eyes were already glazed over so I knew he was warning them. "Tye, the bombs were not made by witches, whoever made them could still be out here. Can you please send the twins, Jason, Troy and Braxton out here." I asked through the link. "They are already on their way, Alley and Ambrosia have  been sent into labor." Tye replied back.

"Shit." I muttered. "What happened?" Lee asked. "The others are on their way here and both of my sisters are in labor because of this shit." I said frustrated. "Do you need to go?" Lee asked. "As much as I want to, I have a duty that I can't just walk away from. Let's just get this done quickly." I replied. "We are here. What do we need to do?" Jason asked running up to us. "We need to be extra careful but we need to move quickly, these bombs were not made by witches and whoever made them could still be out here." I replied. "I have an idea." Jasper said quickly. I turned and looked at him nodding to let him know to tell us. "We need to build a wall and lace it with fire, whoever is still here won't be able to get over it unless they jump and it'll give us light to see." Jasper said. That is actually not a bad idea, we would be able to know who is still here. No human would be able to get over it. "Let's do it then. Warn the other two of what is about to happen." I said looking at Lee. 

Jasper and Jenson stood side by side and I watched with a smile as their eyes turned bright green. I looked over to Lee who looked utterly shocked at what was happening, before I knew it a giant wall scaled upwards around the shield, no human would be able to get close to the top of this thing, it stood nearly forty feet with horned vines weaving their way in and out. I knew what was going to come next so I grabbed Lee by the arm and pulled him behind me. He looked confused for a moment as Jasper and Jenson lit their arms up and carefully touched the wall. A massive fire erupted around which gave us more than enough light to see with. "That is amazing." Lee said. "I know right, proud sister moment for me." I replied back. "Good job boys. Job well done." I said, smiling at them.

"Thanks, we have been practicing." Jenson replied. "This is all still so crazy for me to think about but I am amazed by this." Lee said, looking at the wall. "It's still crazy to us too but we like it." Jasper said. "Double the trouble, double the power." Jenson added high fiving Jasper. I rolled my eyes at them. "Okay let's get a move on so I can be there for Alley and Ambrosia. If you see a bomb be careful okay?" I said. Troy Braxton you two are much faster than us so do your thing." I said to them, Before I knew it they took off. I don't think I will ever get used to vampire speed. I started walking off when Lee caught up to me, "So how did all of this start exactly? Is it only because you wanted to keep the peace?" Lee asked. "Well, because I killed my mother, participating in the war, keeping the peace. They tried to get me to kill an elder but Ambrosia did that. They didn't like that my mate is a wolf either." I replied "So you killed your mother to save your race right? I mean you kind of had to get in on the war if I got the right details." Lee replied. "Yes, you see when a dark witch takes in white magic it kills us instantly. If a queen takes in white magic it will kill our entire race and I could not let that happen." I replied. 

"That sounds reasonable. You can't help who your mate is either so I'm not sure why they would even be mad." Lee said. "That is why the goddess herself stepped in and pardoned me from it." I replied easily. "You're kidding," Lee said, shocked. "Not at all. We are all chosen for good things, we just need to figure out what good thing we are chosen for." I replied. Before Lee could say another word I heard something hit the ground behind us. Lee spun around and shoved me behind him letting out a threatening growl. I peaked around him to see three feral looking men glaring at us. "Jasper, Jenson, I need you two now!" I screamed through the link. Immediately they were at our side growling with such power it took all I had not to move away from them. The men in front of us growled back but there was a nasty edge. "We are here for the queen." The front one rasped out. I stepped between the men and glared. "I am the queen. What is it that you want." I replied. "We are here to warn you. Your death will come soon." The front man growled out. 

"That is not likely. Who sent you?" I asked. "We don't answer to bitches like you." Another one growled out. Before I could even blink Jasper and Jenson jumped into motion. "Save at least one of them!" I shouted. The front man managed to squeeze by the boys and was met with a deadly alpha. Lee didn't look like much but his strength was impressive. The feral wolf stood no chance as Lee swung his right fist connecting it to the feral wolf's jaw sending him to the ground. Lee reined down punch after punch until he was left unconscious. I looked up in time to see Jasper and Jenson dismember the others and set their bodies on fire. Ryan and Jax came running around the corner with Braxton and Troy. All of them had bombs in their hands. "Let's get back in the shield." I said quickly. I didn't want the feral wolf to wake up so soon and we needed to get him into the cells so that we could question him. I needed to hurry up and get to both of my sisters because I did not want to miss their births.
