Chapter 87:
Pythia POV:
Waking up this morning I felt a lot better about the day, we had a set plan that was going in place and while the others were training we were going to work on diving the groups with alphas to be there with them. We also needed to figure out how we would separate Bartholomew from the others long enough for us to entrap them. We don't have to be stronger than them, we just have to be smarter than them. "Is everyone ready to go?" I asked. We had already had breakfast and decided the kids should spend the day together, school can wait. "Yeah, I've got my drawing pad and pencils so we can sketch all of this out." Jasper said. "I have what you need for the cloaking spell." Jenson added. "I've got Apollo." Tye said proudly, making me giggle. "Alright I want you boys to go ahead, I want to talk to Beth about something privately if you all don't mind." I said looking around. "Alright, just don't be too long." Jasper said, kissing her temple. I had told Tye last night so he knew what was going on to keep Jasper distracted while I helped Beth.
I winked at him and noticed his cheeks turned pink just a little, when they were all officially out of the house I looked at Beth. "Are you ready?" I asked "As I will ever be." Beth said nervously. I grabbed a hold of her hands and teleported us inside of Julies office. "Perfect timing, alright let's see what is going on, do you feel different? Any sickness? Change in your body?" Julie asked. "I feel fine, no sickness or anything." Beth replied. "So what makes you think you are pregnant?" Julie asked. "I told her she was, with me having Delilah I can see things that others can't, she is glowing and Delilah said she is with child." I replied. "Interesting, alright lay back for me and raise your shirt a little, this might be cold at first." Julie said as I helped Beth lay back, Julie squirted some jell on her belly and placed the little scope over it and smoothed it out across her belly.
Julie pulled the monitor closer to her face and tilted her head to the side. "Well, you are pregnant but it is a very early stage, if you look right here up at the top, you see that little bean looking thing? That is your baby." Julie said, smiling. "Can you print off a couple pictures for her please?" I asked. "Of course, I would say you are three to four weeks right now." Julie said. I looked down at Beth who looked shocked. "Don't worry about a thing, we will help you every step of the way, now we just need to tell Jasper." I whispered. "If it is okay I would like to tell him as soon as we get there, I want to be excited but I can't without him." Beth replied. "Of course, I will make sure no one bothers you two for a few minutes. You will be restricted though." I said sternly. "Yes, you will, don't be on your feet for long periods of time, no lifting heavy things and make sure you are staying hydrated and you eat." Julie said as she extended her hand out with a few little pictures for Beth to take.
When Julie was done I helped clean up Beth and got her back to her feet, I smiled softly at her, "Ready to go?" I asked. "Actually yes, even though this is bad timing I couldn't be happier." Beth said with a smile. I grabbed her hands and took us just outside of the front doors. "Jasper come to the front porch please." I said just before I hugged Beth. I stepped back just as the front door opened. "Is everything alright?" Jasper asked as he looked between us. "Yes, of course. Why don't you two go take a small walk, there is something Beth needs to talk to you about." I said with a smile as I walked by him. I turned to close the door to see Beth had a huge smile across her face as she took his hand and guided him to the field. "Is she?" Tye whispered. "Three to four weeks." I replied with a smile. "Hey I got all the stuff ready to go for you, where did Jasper go?" Jenson asked. "Beth had to talk to him, they will be back shortly. Let me get started on the cloaking spell." I said quickly. I walked in the room and saw the map opened up with all the herbs already mixed in a bowl. "Great job Jenson." I said, patting his shoulder.
As I sat down I grabbed the marker and circled where we were wanting to hide, it was a large area not that I minded. The more room we had the more we could easily spread out. When I was finished I grabbed a bowl and smoothed the herbs out within the circle making sure it was completely covered. I cleared my thoughts and focused solely on hiding this area from anyone that was outside of the shield, human included. I raised my hands over the map, I felt the heat from my hands come out and I opened my eyes to see that the herbs started to melt together causing them to stick together tightly. When I was finished I looked up in time to see the front door slam open, "I'M GOING TO BE A DAD!" Jasper screamed out, making me laugh. "Really? Congrats man!" Jenson said high fiveing him. Beth walked in smiling from ear to ear, "I'm guessing it went good." I giggled. "It went better than good but he is already being overly protective." Beth laughed. "Well that's just in a mans nature, but you are restricted." I reminded her. "Thank you for taking her this morning although I wish it would have been me." Jasper said, hugging me. "Well we wanted to make sure before anything." I replied.
"She said Julie restricted her on some stuff. I need to talk to Alley, I don't want her working all day and half the night like she usually does." Jasper said. "We will do that later, for now we need to map out the maze, I have the cloak in place now we need to get the maze set up." I said walking towards the map. I looked over at Jasper who already had his pencils moving around the paper. "How many spots do we want?" Jasper asked. "I would say at least four? Any more would be stretching the alphas thin." I replied. "Okay and what about Bartholomew? Where is he going to go and how do we get him there?" Jasper asked. "Well, he is after me so I can lure him to an area where we have a makeshift trap waiting for him." I replied. "I don't like that thought." Tye grumbled. "I know but how else will we get him to a spot?" I asked. "I want me and the twins waiting for you, I won't take no for an answer." Tye grumbled. "We can do that, we can have a spot to hide the three of you so he won't see you all until after he is trapped." I replied, resting my hand on his arm.
I felt him relax slightly, I knew this would be hard for him but it needs to be done, Bartholomew doesn't want anyone else but me and I might be the only one that can get him to a certain spot. "What if we set a trap just off to the side? Running through the maze would be too tricky." I said. "Okay so what about this?" Jasper said, holding up his paper. I could see where the maze shifts and changes, there was an entrance but not exit at all, it had four sections of open spots where we would hide people waiting for them to get in. Off to the side around the back was a square where I am assuming Bartholomew would be. "That looks good to me." I said scanning my eyes back across it. "Now we just need to get this up and going." Tye said. "We also need to divide the alphas and the teams equally." I replied. "Yes, we can do that after the maze is in place, we need everyone to get familiar with it too." Tye said. That's true, we don't need anyone getting lost in that thing. The reason we are doing this is to keep everyone alive.
"We need to get Alley and the other earth carriers in here." I said. "I've already told them, it seems Terra is here and is going to help with this." Tye replied with a smile. Terra is going to help? I didn't think any of them would get involved but I am glad she is. Everyone is still new to all of this and this will ultimately make it faster and easier so we can plan the rest of the stuff out. "Let's go outside to the area and wait for everyone." Tye said, grabbing my hand. "Beth, stay here with the kids and take it easy. Do as Julie says, trust me when I say you don't want to upset her." Tye grumbled, making me laugh. "But what about lunch?" Beth asked. "Don't worry about lunch, we will have the others to step in and take care of things, you can over see them but don't get involved. It's time you took a break." I said with a smile. Beth nodded her head. I knew this would be a change for her since she is always used to helping and doing things but right now she just needs to relax. As we walked outside there was a group already waiting for us, Terra quickly caught my eye, she was wearing a dark queen dress with no shoes. "Ah Pythia! It is wonderful to see you again. I am glad to know Delilah is with you." Terra said with a warm smile.
"It's always a pleasure to see you Terra." I replied, hugging her. "Alright let me see what you have drawn out, this will be a great exercise for everyone." Terra said excitedly as she took the paper from Jasper. "Everyone, come get a good look at this, this is what we will be creating today." Terra announced. The paper was passed around so that everyone could see exactly what we were supposed to do. After a few moments everyone looked at Terra. "Okay I want everyone to spread out around the area, work on clearing your mind, focus on positive things, on protecting everyone and nothing else." Terra yelled out as everyone formed a giant circle. "Tye could you and Alley open your link so I don't have to yell please?" Terra asked sweetly. "Of course." Tye replied with an easy smile. "Now, I want everyone to picture that drawing in their heads, each turn, each straight away. The traps at the end. Picture the walls high up so it would be difficult for them to jump out of. Imagine the dirt and grass being pulled from the ground to create what we saw." Terra said gently.
I could feel the ground under us start to shake slightly, "Good! Now within your mind picture sticks hiding within the wall so that if anyone jumped in it they would be hurt, think of the protection the sticks would bring to those that would be hiding within." Terra said easily. This was so easy for me to picture, each leaf, each grass patch that would twist around a stick. "Deep breaths everyone, don't over exhaust yourself. Focus." Terra said. The ground kept shaking harder until I finally heard parts of it start to break loose. When I opened my eyes I could see the walls go up one by one until they had evened out and came to a stop. Soon after I heard cheers coming from all around us. "Great job everyone! You all have made me proud! Now take a small break and we will continue on." Terra said happily. I looked at the maze in amazement, I thought it would be harder than that but I guess not with how much it helped, this made me happy. Our plan was falling into place and I was now looking forward to taking those mongrels on and riding this world of them forever.
