Chapter 68:
Pythia POV:
My head feels like it is about to explode at any point. I haven't even opened my eyes yet and honestly I don't want to with this throbbing headache. I cracked my eyes open slowly and quickly shut them. Fuck this room is bright. "Pythia?" Tye whispered. I groaned in response. "What's wrong?" Tye asked through our link. "It's too bright in here." I replied back. I heard him stand to his feet which sounded like glass shattering in my head. "Okay baby you can open your eyes now." Tye whispered. Slowly I opened my eyes, blinking a few times to let me adjust. "My head is pounding." I groaned as I sat up. My body was incredibly sore but I could see that my burns looked to be healing oddly fast. "I will have Julie get you something for your headache, Alley used spirit to heal you but she couldn't heal you all the way." Tye said gently. "I feel like I've been run over by a dumpster truck." I muttered. "Well you did have a roof that was on fire, fall on you, I've been so worried." Tye replied as he sat on the edge of my bed.
He placed a hand gently on my head and started rubbing his fingers through my hair. Oh goddess that feels good. "How long have I been out?" I asked. "Not long, just a day. Julie said you needed your rest. The others arrived and have been taken care of. A lot of them have come by to check on you." Tye replied. "How are the kids? Please tell me they all survived." I said, "Yes, the girl's name is Mila. She is still in the hospital but the other two have been released. They have been sleeping in the waiting room waiting for you to wake up." Tye replied. A soft knock on the door caught my attention, Julie popped her head in and smiled. ''It's nice to see you are awake. I'm assuming you have a headache since the lights are off." Julie said as she walked in. "I just need to check over your vitals, I am going to give you a shot. Think of it as liquid Tylenol. It'll get in your system within seconds and clear up that headache." Julie said, she placed the little thing around my finger and the wrap around my arm.
She walked to the other side of the bed and grabbed my wrist, she took an alcohol wipe and cleaned an area of my arm. "Sit still, you will feel a small pinch." Julie said just as she stuck me with the needle. It hurt a lot more than I thought it would probably because I feel very sore. The beeping was starting to get on my nerves a bit but my head started to feel much better than it did earlier. I felt like I could move my eyes without throbbing coursing through my head. "All your vitals are good, how is your head feeling?" Julie asked. "Much better thank you. When can I go home?" I asked. "You can go whenever you are ready." Julie replied. Oh good, I miss my son and I hate that I have been out for so long. "I brought you some comfy clothes, I will help you change." Tye said, walking across the room.
I looked to see that he had one of his big shirts and one of my sport bras with a pair of his gray sweat pants and flip flops. The man really knows how to keep me comfy. "If you need anything or your headache comes back, call me and I will bring another shot." Julie said. "Thank you Julie." I replied smiling. She really was the best doctor I have ever had. Tye helped me get changed and it took more time than I would like to admit. To be honest I wanted a nice hot shower no actually a bubble bath to soak in and try to restore myself. "Can I ride on Rex? I don't mind walking but I want to love on him a little bit." I said shyly. "Of course my beauty, he has been wanting to come out and check on you himself." Tye replied with a smile. As we walked through the hall all eyes fell on me and it made me feel a little shy. When the waiting room came into view two boys jumped to their feet and nearly ran over to us.
Tye wrapped an arm around my waist, "Um we have been waiting for you, we wanted to thank you." Michael said nervously. "We owe you our life." Eli added. "You boys owe me nothing. I am just glad I got to you in time." I replied easily. "We made you a healing herb." Michael said, holding out a clear jar. "It goes in a bath, just put it in and let it sit for a moment before you get in." Eli added. "Thank you boys. I will be sure that she uses it." Tye replied. "Please alpha if there is anything we can do to help we will help." Michael said looking at Tye, the look in his eyes was pleading. "We would do anything for our queen." Eli whispered. "I want you boys to look after your friend. I want a report of her healing and when she is released I want you to bring her to me." I replied. "Yes ma'am." Michael replied. "How are you feeling.. if we may ask." Eli said. "I am well, I just need a few more days to recover." I replied with a smile.
Both boys looked relieved as they nodded their heads. "Take me home please." I said looking at Tye. I waved at the young boys while Tye guided me out of the door. It took him less than a second to shift. Rexs bright green eyes pierced in to mine, he slowly walked up to me and laid his head on my shoulder. I wrapped my arms around his neck and held him tightly. Bonding with Rex is incredibly important to me. I ran my fingers through his soft fur and buried my head in to his neck. This was both calming and very soothing. Rex raised his head and scanned the front of my body before he walked around me, when we were face to face again he literally licked my entire face making me laugh. "Rex! At least let me shower first, I feel dirty." I giggled. He grunted in response which made me laugh harder. "You need a bath too you know." I said smiling. Rex tilted his head to the side before he fell over and rolled around on the ground.
I couldn't help but laugh. His head fell to the side and his tongue dangled from his mouth. "You are just being silly now." I said giggling. I walked over to him and started scratching his belly, going off of the noises that were being made I would say he really enjoyed that. "Alright my handsome wolf take me home please." I said, stepping away from him. He rolled on to his belly and I climbed on his back and laid flat letting my arms and legs dangle on his sides. Rex walked slowly and I wasn't paying attention to the people around me. "You know, you are such a handsome wolf." I whispered. "And you, my mate, are the most beautiful woman on this planet." Rexs voice sounded off in my head, he sounded completely happy. "Tell that to me when I am not covered in red marks." I replied. He growled in response. "Oh hush, I am fine. No need to worry." I said. "I will always worry for you my love." Rex replied. His gentleness took me by surprise.
Wolves get such a bad rep and we are working to fix that. The closer we got to home the more excited I was to see Apollo. I know Jasper and Jenson were taking good care of him but this made me realize just how careful I really need to be. Apollo needs both his parents and with me in a hospital bed that means I miss out on some of his life. Even though it was just a day I still didn't like it. I raised my head to see My dad, uncle, aunt, Alcide and my brothers standing on the front porch and I internally groaned. Rex laid back down and I slid down his side. I walked in front of him and kissed the top of his nose. "I love you my beauty." Rex said. "I love you too my wolf." I replied with a smile just before he shifted. "You just made him over the moon happy." Tye said smiling. "Good, he needs to be happy." I replied.
I turned and faced the group that was gathered around. "Pythia, how are you feeling?" Olivia asked. "Sore but fine." I replied. "You had us worried for a moment, I need to send Alley a fruit basket or something." My dad said. "What were you thinking?" Jasper asked. I narrowed my eyes at him, "I was not going to leave those kids to burn up." I replied. "What happened?" Jenson asked. "I was able to get one kid out, I went back for the other two but the roof caved in before I could get fully to them so I jumped and covered them. I panicked a little and it took me a moment longer to get us outside." I replied. Jasper pinched the bridge of his nose while Jenson looked down. "I was on fire when we got outside but Braxton dumped water on me and well here we are." I finished. "I am just glad you are alright. How are the kids?" Phil asked. "They are fine. The girl is still in the hospital though." I replied.
"We have been settling everyone but no one will tell us what happened. They want to talk to you." My dad said. "I will call a meeting tomorrow and we will all discuss what happened." Tye replied. "Where is Apollo?" I asked. "He is in his crib sound asleep." Jasper replied. As much as I wanted to see him I would not wake him up. That would give me time to take a bath and get cleaned up. "I am going to take a bath, you are all welcomed to stay and we can talk after but honestly I want to get clean and take care of my son." I said walking forward. Tye was hot on my heels as we walked inside. I walked upstairs and walked into Apollos room. I looked down at him and he looked so peaceful. I couldn't wait until he was up and I could spend time with him. I heard the water turn on and my need to get clean started to overwhelm me. I walked out of Apollos room and went straight to our room, Tye was putting the herbs in the bath with some bubble mix and the lavender scent hit my nostrils.
I took my clothes off and walked into the bathroom where I looked at myself. Deep red marks lined my legs, I turned to see that my entire back was a deep red as well. My hatred for the elders grew so much more. They could have killed so many people. I now have marks to remind me of why we are going to war and I plan on making those damn elders and whoever stands in my way pay for every little thing they have done.
