Chapter 116:

Pythia POV:

I ached everywhere, mainly my face. I groaned and tried to move my body before I stiffened, the sudden urge to move was now gone. "Try to stay still, I'll get Julie." Tye whispered softly, he brushed his hand through my hair and I relaxed. I heard the door open and close before silence filled the air. "How do you feel?" Delilahs voice rang out in my head making me flinch. "I'd rather be ran over by a bus if that tells you anything." I replied. I heard her huff from across the room. "Why didn't you go home and rest?" I asked. "I wanted to stay here with you. You did great you know." Delilah replied. "Remind me of that when I am not as banged up." I replied. I took a deep breath and immediately regretted it. I heard the door open again and I felt Tye next to me. "Can you open your eyes for me Pythia?" Julies soft voice rang out.

I was not used to hearing her be so gentle but then again there are sides to her no one has seen before. Slowly I cracked open my eyes only to slam them shut again and groan. "Hit the lights please." Julie called out. I waited, the room was just too bright for me right now, "Okay open them again for me the best you can." Julie said. I opened them the best I could but I could feel the gash that was under one of them, I'm sure I looked bad but all wounds heal in time. Julie hooked the blood pressure machine around my arm and she leaned over me, "This is going to be bright and I'll do my best to keep it directly out of your eyes but I need to see the damage okay?" Julie said, looking at me. I just nodded my head as she started digging for her little flashlight. She placed her head on my forehead and gently pulled up one of my eyelids.

She was right when she said it would be bright but it was bearable. She switched eyes before she backed away and took a deep breath. The machine next to me beeped as the pressure lifted off my arm. She pulled the stethoscope from around her neck and placed it on my chest checking my other vitals. When she took a step back she took a deep breath, "You have multiple broken ribs, your cheekbone is fractured along with your jaw. You have swelling on your face and some busted blood vessels in your eyes. You have some bruising and scratches along your arms and legs but you should heal up in time. You need to rest as much as possible and if you need anything let me know." Julie said with a soft smile. "Is there anything she can take to help with the pain?" Tye asked. "Right now just some natural herbs, we did a pregnancy test and it came back inconclusive. So we will need to run another test within the next week or two so for now stick to all natural stuff." Julie said with a smile and I felt my heart drop.

How could a test come back inconclusive? We literally had sex before all of this started, so how is that possible. "Like I said, if you need anything let me know. She will need help walking for a few days though." Julie said before she excused herself and walked out of the room. "Um.. So that was news." Tye muttered. "I'll say." I rasped out before I flinched. "Take it easy, Ambrosia is bringing you some big comfy clothes that you like and then we will take you home. There is some stuff we need to talk about." Tye said gently. What else is there to talk about? Did something else happen while I was unconscious? I looked at Tye confused, "Lucinda was here, she healed Delilah but she also told us what you really are." Tye said. I went to ask what he was talking about but the door opened and in walked Ambrosia with some clothes. "You out, I will help her dress and then you can carry her home." Ambrosia said, narrowing her eyes and Tye.

He held his hands up and backed out of the door. Ambrosia turned her attention towards me and a look I knew all too well came across her face. "Don't. I'm fine." I muttered. "Do you want some water?" Ambrosia asked. I nodded my head as I tried to sit up. I grunted in pain, who knew having some broken ribs would hurt so damn bad. "Would you stop it? Let me help you." Ambrosia said, pulling me up. I downed the water and cleared my throat. "That's much better. How are you?" I asked. Ambrosia laughed as she pulled the clothes out of the bag, "I am fine. I'm a bit sore but nothing I can't handle. Here let's get you dressed." Ambrosia said untying the back of my gown. When the gown was off I looked down and saw the extent of my injuries, I don't think any part of my body looked normal, my skin was multiple different colors. "Don't look, it'll heal up in time." Ambrosia whispered as she slid a large sweater over my head. "Lillith is already making you some stuff so you'll feel better in no time. We can get you in the bath when you get home if you'd like." Ambrosia whispered.

I smiled at her, "Tye said there was something we all needed to talk about first. After that a bath sounds nice." I replied. When I was dressed she put warm fuzzy slippers on my feet making me laugh. I gasped and held my side. "Pythia! Easy." Ambrosia said with a smile. "Where did you get these?" I asked. "The local store. I thought they were cute so I got them for you. Are you ready to go?" Ambrosia asked. "Yes I am." I replied. Delilah stood to her feet and walked over to us before laying down in front of us. "Let's get you up and she can carry you home. Everyone has been waiting." Ambrosia said with a smile. I grabbed onto her arms and she pulled me forward. My feet hit the floor and every molecule in my body burst at once. I ached worse that I ever thought I would. Slowly she helped climb to the middle of Delilah's back. I was breathless by the time I got situated. "I'm fine, I'm ready to go home." I said, still trying to catch my breath. Tye opened the door and smiled. "Let's get my two beauties home shall we?" He said, stepping out in the hallway.

Delilah started moving forward slowly and I always enjoyed being up so high, as we walked through the hallways I caught a glimpse at my face. I was busted up pretty badly, my lips were busted up with cuts and I had bruises along my jawline and neck, I had a huge gash under my eye and my left eye was pretty swollen. My eyes were still blue and green but it was surrounded by red blotches, I am assuming those are the blood vessels that Julie was talking about. "Oh wait!" Julie said, running up to us. "Here, you will have sensitivity to light. Put these on." Julie said, handing me a pair of medical sunglasses. "Thank you so much." I said taking them from her. I carefully put them on and Delilah pushed forward until we walked through the doors. It took my eyes a minute to adjust but when they did I looked around to see everyone was standing around but they had parted so we could walk in between them all.

I looked around and smiled the best that I could, they offered smiles of their own before they all started bowing. That was a little odd, I thought we were all through all of this but something tells me that whatever we needed to talk about was the cause of all of this. I wondered what it was all about. When we reached the house everyone was waiting on the front porch. Delilah laid down and I slowly dragged my leg to the other side, Tye held his arms out before scooping them under me and lifting me off of Delilah. "Let's get inside and we can all talk. Not for long though Tye needs to get her in a soothing bath." Ambrosia said sternly. Tye walked by everyone and straight into the house. He sat on the couch but made no move to set me down next to him. Everyone else started to pile in and sit around us, and they all stared at me. "So I told you that Lucinda came by earlier and told us who you really are." Tye said gently. "What did she say?" I asked.

"Do you remember what you did in the field to Bartholomews beast?" Alley asked. "Not really, I mean I felt all of the elements connect and there was more force behind everything I did, why?" I asked, looking around. "Let me show you." Alley said, standing to her feet and walking towards me. She placed her hands on the sides of my head and images started flashing across my mind, the moment I raised my hands and a light beam shot out from my hands. How could that be possible? I looked like a totally different person in all of this. Alley stepped back and I blinked a few times. "What was that?" I asked. "Lucinda said that you are the bringer of light and dark." Ambrosia replied. "What does that even mean?" I asked. "She said she would explain it better but she said that you are the one that gets to decide who gets a second chance and ultimately where people will spend their afterlife." Tye replied.

Wait what? How am I supposed to decide on that? I'm still not sure what that even means. "We will be doing some research and maybe we can get some answers, I know they are preparing to bring everyone back so we can have some answers then as well." Alley said. "I'm not even sure what all of that means. Am I like a medium or something?" I asked. "We aren't fully sure but what we do know is you are the only one to have the power to burn someone's soul and make sure they don't have an afterlife." Stephen replied. I mean that is true I guess but still how am I supposed to decide that? I can't just travel around to see people on their deathbeds or something.

“Let us explain.” Athea soft voice rang out in the room. We all looked up to see her and Lucinda were standing side by side. “Adam and Beth are getting everyone ready, they will be here tonight.” Athea added quickly before she set her eyes on me. “We knew you would figure out how to tap into your powers, but the definition we use is the bringer of light and dark.” Athea said. “It is one person who decides someone's fate. Where all the elements combine to vanish a soul completely.” Lucinda said with a soft smile. “So how am I to decide something like this? Am I suppose to visit all supernatural that lay dying?” I asked. “No, anyone that commits a crime and it brought before the council are the ones you will decide on.” Athea replied.

I scrunched my face together, not really sure if I understand. “So I decide if they get a second chance at life?” I asked. “Yes, and if you decide that they don’t deserve it you will decide where they go in their after life. Should they join our realm or be rid of this world forever like you did with Bartholomew and his beast.” Lucinda replied. That doesn’t seem too bad then. As long as I don’t have to travel around I guess I could do that. “So I’m the decider and the executioner.” I said. “Precisely, you have evolved quickly and we are so proud of you.” Athea said with a smile.

I tried to smile back but I flinched instead. “I can heal that for you if you’d like.” Athea added when she saw me flinch. “I’m alright for now. Reminds me of what I went through and my success.” I replied. “Pythia, I know you want Delilah back with you but I will leave the option up to you. Either you can keep her how she is or join back together. I’ll give you some time to think about it.” Lucinda said. I had the option? Why? Wouldn’t we be stronger together? “I didn’t think I would get the option.” I replied. “Well the twins will be guarding Apollo so I figured she could be your own personal guard if you’d like.” Lucinda replied easily.

She had a point. I didn’t really have a personal guard like everyone else did so this is something worth thinking about. “I’ll bring some books so you can further read about your true destiny. Beth is calling us so we must get back. We will be back with everyone else.” Athea said with a smile before they both disappeared. All eyes fell in me and I wasn’t sure what to think. “So you will work with us and be the ultimate decider of people’s fate.” Alley said with a soft smile. “That doesn’t seem too hard. Have someone go through a fair trial and we all speak about it.” I replied. “We will call a meeting later on once we fully understand and explain it to everyone else. Right now you get in the bath and relax and we will see you later.” Alley said, standing to her feet.

The bath sounded so nice right now. Tye picked me up and carried me to our room, Delilah followed behind us and I looked back at her. “What do you think?” I asked. “About what?” Delilah asked. I rolled my eyes. She knows exactly what I’m talking about. “You will do very well if you know that.” Delilah huffed. “Not what I was asking about and you know it.” I said, narrowing my eyes at her. “It’s really up to you. I’ll be fine with whatever you decide but I do like the idea of us being separated for me to protect you better.” Delilah said. It would be easier that way. I mean I don’t really need her strength if I have my own. I stood to my feet and struggled to get to the bathroom. “What are you doing? I was going to come and get you.” Tye said as he started to undress me.

“I couldn’t help it. I’m so ready for this bath.” I replied. Tye helped me sink into the bathtub and I was welcomed by the hot water. My body aches but it quickly subsided once I got settled, my mind was flying around on what to do with Delilah but the more I thought about it the more us being separated sounded like a really good idea.
