Chapter 84:
Pythia POV:
Everything seemed so different but the same. There has been so much new information and not enough time to process it. I could hear peoples conversations from all over, I could not only feel their emotions but could see them. "Is it still overwhelming?" Tye asked. "A little, I mean with seeing emotions and intentions and hearing literally everyone it's kind of hard to separate them." I replied. "Think of it as ropes, you need to untangle them and then once they are separated it'll be much easier to handle." Tye said gently. "So how does shifting work? Does it hurt? You all make it seem so easy.'' I said. "It might hurt a little at first but the more you do it the easier and faster it becomes. As far as shifting Delilah will push outward and you just have to trust her and let her take over." Tye replied laughing. ''But what if I don't want her to take over?" I asked. "Well then in a way you have to fight to keep her down. It'll be a lot of arguing and you two will probably curse each other out. Definitely yelling, but you have to get to know her to know what would trigger her in to forcing herself to surface." Tye replied.
Okay so I need to have a sit down and have a conversation with her. Easy, I can do that I mean it shouldn't be too hard right? "Not hard at all, I am always here and always listening." Delilah said making me flinch. I heard Tye laughing beside me, "You'll get use to it I promise." Tye whispered. "It's different from when I hear you." I said pouting a little. When I looked at Tye I seen him differently than I did before, his intentions were pure, loving and I could see how he admired me which made me blush a little. "Do you want to try to shift? Or do you want to wait?" Tye asked with a smile. "Can Rex come out to meet her?" I asked. "Of course, he is excited to meet her." Tye replied. "Now watch." Tye whispered. "WAIT! What about my clothes? Will mine stay on too?" I asked quickly. "Yes, your clothes will stay on my beauty." Tye replied laughing. Oh thank goodness, I stepped back and watched Tye carefully, he tilted his head to the side and smiled wide before Rex tore through and stood before me. "Hello Rex, now be nice to Delilah okay? I'll tell her to be nice to you too though." I said giggling as Rex rubbed his head against me.
I could feel something moving around in my head and it started to give me a headache, so I stepped back and put my hand on my temple. Rex tilted his head before he whined and licked my face. "I'm okay I think, ow.. is this normal?" I grunted. "Relax Pythia, the first time shifting will cause a headache, slight nausea and like someone is pinching you but it's okay." Tyes calm voice sounded off in my head and I looked up to see Rex staring at me. I nodded my head and sunk my hands in his fur. "Okay Delilah, take it easy and be nice to Rex. We love Rex." I said with an edge to my voice, this was starting to hurt more than expected. "Relax my queen, trust in me. I will not hurt you intentionally." Delilah replied. In that moment I let go of my own self control and felt Delilah push forward, it was like someone was splitting my head in half and my stomach starting flipping around. Oh shit am I going to throw up? My body started to shake until it felt like someone ripped dried glue off my skin, I jerked my eyes open and saw I was not me.
I was on four legs instead of two, I was taller and I felt like I was looking through a tunnel. We did it! That was not as bad as I was expecting. Delilah set her eyes on Rex and for a brief moment it was like they were having a stare down, they circled each other smelling each other, I started vibrating, what is happening? I started hearing a soft rumble and I couldn't contain my laughter. "Are you purring?!" I giggled. "Don't make fun of me, Rex is so handsome. He is perfect." Delilah replied back with a certain tone in her voice that made me realize she more than just liked him. "I wouldn't make fun of you, I think it is cute." I replied easily. "Hey, Rex, do you know where Pythia is?" Alcide asked, walking up and I knew this wouldn't go very smoothly. Delilah put her body in front of Rex and growled, stopping Alcide in his tracks. "No! That is our cousin, he is okay I promise. He is just looking for me." I said quickly. Tye shifted back quickly and stood in front of Delilah. "Who is that?" Alcide asked. "Well, this is Delilah and she is Pythias wolf." Tye replied. "Ah okay, well hello Delilah. I'm Alcide, Pythias cousin so don't growl at me." Alcide said with a small smile.
I watched the two exchange words but I didn't pay much attention, instead I took in my surroundings. It was dark but very comfortable, I felt overly safe in here. I stretched out my arms and legs and realized I didn't touch anything. I could probably take a nap in here and be perfectly fine. "Delilah, I need Pythia back please." Tye whispered as he wrapped his arms around our neck. Okay how do I do that? Last time she did it but now it's my turn. "Concentrate, picture yourself as human, it won't hurt at all." Delilah whispered to me. I closed my eyes and pictures Tyes arms wrapped around me instead, us standing nearly face to face. Feeling the warmth from his skin transfer to mine, when I opened my eyes I was back on two legs that felt very much like jello. Tyes grip tightened as he laughed softly. "That won't last forever I promise. Alcide wanted to talk to you really quickly." Tye whispered. I looked at Alcide and immediately knew what he wanted. "You want to know about Lucinda and those monsters." I said. "How did you know? What happened to your eyes" Alcide asked.
I giggled as I remembered not everyone knows what Delilah can do. "Well, Delilah has a gift of her own, it's knowing a persons true intentions so there is no hiding anything from me and as far as my eye color it's her way of sharing her gift with me." I replied with a smile. "Oh well that's cool, but yes I wanted to know more details if you wouldn't mind." Alcide replied. "From what we know, these things are twice the size of Delilah and wider too, super sharp fangs and mean as hell. As far as the hybrid one, I don't know much about him. They place they were was mainly dark, they stayed away from the light which is worth looking in to." I replied. "What is the plan now?" Alcide asked. "Well everyone has a wolf and has either magic or an element so we need to train with what we have to get a lot stronger and prepare ourselves. It's all we can do." I replied. "I don't like the idea of a crazy ass hybrid wanting to take you away. We would all rather you not be here but we all know that isn't an option. How much time do we have?" Alcide asked. "Three weeks. We have no time to slack off of things. Tomorrow we start training harder than before. All of us that are new to wolves need to train in wolf form. We need to know the ins and outs of literally everything." I replied.
"Alright, let's go back to the others and figure out how we are going to do this." Tye said. As we walked back there was so much going on at once, people shifting and then shifting back, this is what we needed to practice today. The faster we learn to shift the easier it'll be or so I hope anyways. Kids were running around chasing Ember and for a moment my heart ached. How many of their parents will be lost in this fight? I don't understand peoples need for power when it never works the way they want it to. Sadness washed over me as I thought about losing anyone, all of these people have become such a large part of my life and so many we have bonded with. "You can't control the future, just prepare them for anything." Delilah said softly. "How do you prepare someone as if they will die?" I asked. "They need to make peace with themselves and with the unknown. They need to know that when they leave this realm they will go somewhere safe, where an endless amount of love will be waiting for them." Delilah replied. "Even so, it is hard when you have a child. To know you might be leaving them far sooner than expected." I replied.
"Their children will know that they died as heroes, protecting them till the very end. It will be hard to tell them but it needs to happen." Delilah replied. "I know, I just need to figure out how and when, thank you Delilah." I said softly. "Talk to Tye, let him help you figure it out. No need to thank me, I do not like it when you are sad." Delilah replied. I signed thinking about her words. "Are you alright my beauty?" Tye asked. "I will talk to you about it later, but yes, I am fine." I replied. "There you guys are! Come we need to talk." Alley said from the doorway. We walked a little faster to see what was going on, when we got inside everyone was sitting around the living room with a huge white board on an easel in the middle. "Okay, so we have been thinking about how we are going to split things now. The element carriers will be here first thing in the morning to work with the vampires so I figured we could section them off here.." Alley said as she drew a square on the left side of the board. "Will that be enough room?" I asked. "It should be but we can always make it bigger if we need to." Alley replied.
I nodded my head, "Then over here we can put the witches who were given a wolf and pair them with a wolf so they can teach them to shift, and learn what makes our wolves stronger and faster as well as how we heal and everything." Alley added, she drew another large square off to the right side before she frew a square right in the middle of the board. "Now this area will be the training area, where when shifted we pair the wolves up and let them go at it, I know its a harsh way of teaching but we don't really have time to go step by step with it all." Alley said. "Well surely they can learn about hitting the weak spots when they are learning to shift right?" I asked. "Yes, of course I meant we don't have the time to have them shift and play around with it. They have to act as if the fight were happening now." Alley replied. "That makes sense." Tye said. "Now the bottom area is for the witches and vampires, much similar to the wolves area, this is for fighting with elements." Alley said. "This is actually a really good idea, when everyone is comfortable we can have the wolves area merged with the witches and vampires. Have the wolves learn to dodge flaming fireballs and whatever else but also how to fight a wolf in human form just in case." I said.
"That is an excellent idea! I hate that we don't have much time to spare but I feel like if we all focus and lock down on this then we will be prepared for what is to come." Ambrosia replied. As I looked at the board, hope filled me, maybe, just maybe we will be where we need to be before this fight starts and we can win this with no loss but only time will tell.
