Chapter 119:
Pythia POV:
I could hear the music playing before we even stepped outside, it was like a soft Jazz tempo, when we walked outside everyone stopped and looked at us before they all smiled and bowed their heads. Part of me felt a little shy at first and I'm not really sure why. They did an amazing job, roots had been pulled to cover all the tables, vines and flowers swirled their way around the roots giving it a gentle look. I looked over to the open field to see a large portion had been created by more roots that built the area to dance around it. Lights hung off of them, vines and colorful flowers were intertwined with them. "Lucinda, this is absolutely stunning." I said hugging her. "I thought it would be something different than what you are all used to. I even brought in human chefs to help cook dinner for everyone." Lucinda replied. "It's a nice touch, they can see how we are." Tye said, hugging her.
"I'm glad Alley and Stephen approved of it. They seem to be doing well with gaining their trust so this is like a small stepping stone." Lucinda replied. Delilah walked up to me and placed her snout on my belly. "Well hello to you too." I giggled. "No offense but babies come first when it comes to greetings." Delilah replied. She wasn't wrong, the moment you become a parent you lose the first line of greetings with everyone. "Did you have fun with the kids?" I asked. "I did what I would give to be that young and have that much energy." Delilah huffed. "Is Athea coming?" I asked. "She will be here in just a bit, she is going to bring the baby wolves to keep the little ones occupied." Lucinda replied. This was going to be our new normal. Our children will grow up around everything that is good in the world. I looked over to see Alley and Stephen out by the shield and I was curious. "What are they doing?" I asked.
Tye looked over and smiled, "They have figured out a way to tie the shields into the grounds. Anyone who steps on it will still have the safe affects." Tye replied. Wow, I didn't think that could be done but I guess literally anything is possible given who we are all. "Are you thirsty?" Tye asked, guiding me to a table. "Actually yes, water please." I replied as I sat down, I looked around the table to see the twins and their mates all of them smiling. "How are you feeling Beth?" I asked. "Like a big balloon." She giggled. "How are you guys liking the new house?" Tye asked as he sat down next to me. "It's coming together very nicely, I still have some decorating to do but I had an idea and it could be far fetched." Beth said shyly. "I doubt that. What are you thinking?" I asked. "Well I thought about instead of using omegas to do everything, what if I offered teenagers a job? It'll teach them how to cook and clean and everything and I think it would be a good way for them to earn money to put back for themselves you know." Beth said.
That's actually not a bad idea, we really don't have rankings anymore and people are free to choose a job of their liking instead of being forced to do one thing the rest of their lives. "I like that idea. I'll help you create some flyers and we can go through and pick however many you think you need." I replied with a smile. She looked a little shocked at first and I knew she was still getting used to how things are now but in truth we all are. I heard all the kids squealing and I looked over to see what was going on when I noticed Athea had finally shown up and behind her was all the baby wolves that were running towards the children. I noticed Ember was walking behind our kids letting them have their own time. "Delilah why don't you go keep Ember company?" I said looking down at her. She raised her head and looked over before she got to her feet and carefully walked over and laid down beside Ember. "Is it weird not having her?" Jasper asked. "Not really, she is still with me in the same way I just can't shift unless I merge with her." I replied. "I heard she has my old room." Jenson said. "She does, we let her design it the way she wanted to and let's be honest. It smells a lot better in there." Tye laughed.
Jenson narrowed his eyes, making me laugh. "Don't start you two, let's enjoy today." I said quickly. "Pythia, would you like to dance?" Alex asked, standing from his chair. I knew he wanted to talk to me about something because his nerves were rolling off of him in waves. I took his hand and stood to my feet and we walked out towards the section that was covered with roots. When we got to the little dance floor he spun me around before pulling me as close as I could get to him. "What's on your mind Alex?" I asked, looking up at him. "Well Jenson and I have been talking and obviously we can't have children of our own right?" Alex said nervously. I didn't say anything to him, instead I waited for him to collect his nerves and continue talking. He cleared his throat and looked around, "Well, all of the orphaned children which isn't much but we were talking about adopting them." Alex finally said. Why would he be so nervous to talk to me about this? That is a wonderful idea. Some of those children want nothing more than to be a part of a family no matter who the parents are. "What is the issue?" I asked.
"Well, the lady that is in charge that we spoke to doesn't like the idea very much." Alex huffed. "Why does she not like that idea? I don't see an issue with it at all." I replied, I started to feel upset. If he tells me she has an issue with them being gay I was going to have a serious problem. "She said that she doesn't think the children would adjust so well with two dads. She said they need a mother to do the motherly things that men can't." Alex said sadly. "That's a load of shit, how many children are there?" I asked. "Only five. We can easily take care of them but she won't sign any of the papers." Alex replied. "Where is she now, take me to her." I said, stepping back. "Um, I don't want to get my ass kicked by Tye, I just wanted some advice on what to do." Alex said nervously. "My advice to you is to take me to her now, you and Jenson will be taking those children home. Tonight. Now let's go." I said turning around only to be met by Tye staring at me.
I didn't say anything to him and he just smiled. "Let's go. I know there is no changing your mind but do not and I mean do not get all worked up." Tye said sternly. Jenson was walking towards us with Delilah, "Pythia really we can figure out another way." Jenson said quietly. "I will burn your ass if we don't get moving. I'm starting to get hungry and I want those kids home with you two tonight." I said, narrowing my eyes. Jenson held his hands up before he started walking towards the little house that wasn't too far from us. I could see the lights on inside and I wondered why none of them were at the party tonight. It was for everyone and for some reason they decided not to attend. "Let's hurry up and get her some food before she gets crazy." Tye laughed. "I don't get that bad." I replied. "Not usually no, but you are carrying twins and I would rather not test it." Tye said with a smile.
The house looked like it could use some repairs but I wasn't all that concerned right now, I looked over to Jenson and Alex and I could feel every emotions rolling off of them at once. "Go knock on the door and come stand by me." I said, not really caring who went and did it. Alex walked up to the door and practically banged on it before he came to stand back beside us. I could hear shuffling in the house before I saw a cute little girl peek out of the window. I smiled and waved at her and her entire little face lit up. The front door flung open and five little kids piled around the doorway. An older boy stepped to the front and I knew he was nervous. They all knew who we were but they never thought that they would ever meet us like this. "Hello there. Where are the people taking care of you?" I asked gently. "Brenda is cooking, and Justin is in the shower." The boy replied. I looked at each of the kids and it looked like they hadn't showered in a few days, they were a little underweight but nothing that seemed terrible.
Their eyes shifted to Alex and Jenson and one by one huge smiles came across their faces. A little girl darted straight for Alex. "Hey Lilly!" Alex laughed. "Are you here to take us home? You said we could come home with you." Lilly said eagerly. "Kids! Dinner time!" Brendas voice came loud and clear but none of the kids moved. they weren't really sure on what they were supposed to do. I shook my head and waved them over to us. When the kids didn't come right away Brenda walked to the door and stopped in her tracks. "Oh hello, I wasn't expecting visitors." Brenda said nervously. "We won't take up too much of your time I promise, uh boys can you occupy the children please." I said not once taking my eyes off of Brenda. She placed her hands in front of her and started picking at her fingers. When I knew they boys had taken the children out of ear shot I stepped forward, "So I hear you have a problem that they want to adopt the children, is that right?" I asked tilting my head to the side. "No, not at all. I just think that they need a mother figure." Brenda replied. "Okay well obviously those children don't think the same way as you and to deny anyone the right to adopt is against who we are." I said.
Brenda looked at Tye as if he was going to help her get out of this situation. "Alex and Jenson are taking those children home tonight. They will adopt them and the papers need to be on my desk before the night is up." Tye said evenly. I heard footsteps before a tall man appeared. "What's going on?" Justin asked. "What is going on is I am here to inform the both of you that those children will be adopted by Jenson and Alex and you will no longer run a home for orphaned children." I replied looking at him. "I thought you told them no." Justin said looking at Brenda. "She did, but I said yes." I replied quickly. "What gives you the right to decide?" Justin said looking at me. Delilah growled slightly obviously not liking his tone. "Because you both are discriminating and could be thrown in the cells for it." I replied tilting my head to the side. "I told your mate here that the papers will be on my desk before the night is up. If they are not you both will be thrown in the cells and will go before the council. Now we are taking the children to the party to get them fed. You both have a nice night." Tye growled out daring them to say another word.
They both stomped back in the house and slammed the door. "They are just mad that they'll be losing the money we give to them every month to take care of the children." Tye whispered. Jenson and Alex walked back up to us, Alex was still holding Lilly and Jenson was holding a little boy while the other three stayed behind them. "Pythia, Tye and Delilah we would like y'all to meet, Lilly, Brad, Axel, Garcia and Chris." Jenson said pointing at all of the kids. "It is very nice to meet you all. I bet y'all are hungry, would you like to come with us to the party?" I asked. They were all nervous and that was understanding, but they were eager to get away from that house. "Can we clean up first?" Garcia asked. Her voice was quiet and soft. "Of course. We can get you all a change of clothes too. Come." I said holding my hand out. Garcia grabbed on to my hand and we all walked back to the party. "Lucinda is waiting for us, she wants to tend to the kids." Tye whispered in my ear. "Look! Baby wolves!" Brad said excitedly. "Athea brought them, after you all get cleaned up and eat if you are hungry you can go play." I said.
"The moon goddess is here?" Chris asked, looking around. "I am here, so is my sister." Athea said, walking up to us. "You're so pretty!" Lilly giggled. "Not as pretty as you sweet girl, come on lets go get clean." Athea said, taking Lilly from Alex. "Are you Pythias momma?" Axel asked quietly, making me smile. "I am close to being her mother but that is a long story." Lucinda replied as they walked off with them. I looked at Jenson and Alex and they wrapped me up in a hug. "Thank you." Jenson whispered. "no need to thank me, you both deserve to be parents." I replied with a smile. "Now how about we get you some food?" Tye said, taking my hand. My belly started growling, making me laugh. I was pretty hungry, as we sat down at the table our food was served, I looked to see they had made steaks with potatoes and a mix of vegetables. I swear my mouth watered at the sight of it. It wasn't long after we started eating that I saw all five of the kids bolt off towards the little wolves. "We told them they could play until the other kids ate." Lucinda said, sitting down at our table. "Thank you for helping them." Jenson said with a smile. "You are most welcome, I look forward to getting to know them all." Lucinda replied as she started to eat.
This party was the perfect idea but my mind was rolling around because I needed to start planning the wedding everyone has been asking me about, I just wasn't sure when we would have it or while I was pregnant. I plan on talking to Tye about it tonight because honestly, I wanted this wedding to happen more than anything and before the twins are born.
