Chapter 60:
Pythia POV:
I couldn’t find the words to form or even say, I held the piece in my hands, holding it close to my face to make sure I was in fact seeing things correctly. “What is that place?” Alcide asked. “It is where most of my coven lives, it is much like a pack house. Are you sure your mother was a white witch?” I asked, still not sure if I believe what I am seeing. “When Atsila came to me he said only white witches are able to carry any element and I do have fire so that means she is a white witch.” Alcide replied. I rubbed the side of my head, how could this be? Was there a white witch hiding out within my coven and I seriously did not know about it? She would have to be older since he is twenty six. “Pythia what are you thinking?” Jason asked. Clearly I was struggling with my own thoughts. “I am trying to figure this out. How could a white witch hide out in my coven and me not know? You said she left not long after you were born, correct? How long after you were born?” I asked.
I could feel a headache start to form. “My dad said she left the hospital. That’s all he has ever told me about her.” Alcide replied. My mind was racing on who it could be. I knew all of the older women and their kids. I grew up around all of them and no one was recently brought to us. “I will assemble all the women. I honestly don’t know who it could be. We haven’t welcomed new members and I know the rest of them.” I said. I pulled out my phone and sent a quick text to Lillith to gather all the women in the meeting room and that I was on my way with a guest. “Alright let’s head over there so we can figure all of this out. That spell is never wrong so she is there somewhere.” I stated. “I need to go check in with Alley and them. I’ll catch up to you guys when I am done.” Tye said gently. “Of course, I know she has been worried about you. Go ahead.” I replied with a small smile.
He gave me a quick kiss before kissing the top of Apollos head and walked towards the door. “Alright let me pack a small bag and then we will go.” I said as I started to grab a few things. When I was done I looked around the room. Alcide looked like a huge ball of nerves. He stood roughly six foot three and was wider than a damn door but right now he looked like a little boy that was about to ask a big question. “Don’t be so nervous man, you are starting to make me nervous.” Jason said, looking him up and down. “Sorry, I’m not sure wha-“ Alcides breath caught in his throat and I knew what was happening. “What is happening?” Alcide whispered. “That would be Apollos way of helping you. He is sending spirit to strengthen you.” I replied. A smile came across his face as his eyes set on my son. I needed to remind myself to call on Davina to ask her some questions. I still wasn’t sure how he was able to use his gift at such a young age.
As we made our way towards the coven house I received a text back from Lillith saying everyone had been gathered. He doesn’t resemble any woman I know or at least I don’t think so but I could be wrong. If someone looked close enough they would be able to figure out who my dad is. “You shouldn’t think so hard. It gives you wrinkles.” Jasper said. “I am still too young for wrinkles, little brother.” I replied. “I don’t know, you are starting to get up there in age.” Jenson said laughing. As I pushed the stroller forward a small smile came across my face. “Is that so?” I asked. “Yeah I think so.” Jenson replied. I tilted my head to the side and listened to the twins crack up at their little joke. What they don’t know is that their sister has a few tricks up her sleeve. “Balthakk.” I whispered, flicking my wrist to the side. I didn’t need to look back to know that I just threw both boys backwards and on their butts. “That is cheating!” Jasper yelled. “Now that was just rude.” Jenson added. Jason and Alcide started laughing, I looked over my shoulder to see them both bath on their feet dusting themselves off.
They had a playful look on their faces and I wasn’t fully sure on what they were going to do, “Keep In mind that I have y’alls nephew so don’t try it.” I stated quickly. I kept walking forward until they finally caught up. “Alright you’ve made your point, you’re still young enough to keep up.” Jasper muttered. “That is more I like it. One day we will practice with our elements but right now we have a task to take care of.” I replied. “Um. Can someone train me? I’ve played with fire when I can but I have no idea what I am doing.” Alcide said. “We can teach you on the weekends.” Jasper replied. “You’ll learn that it is super easy once you get the hang of it.” Jenson added. “I really appreciate it.” Alcide replied. We fell into an easy silence as we finished making our way into the house. There was no one roaming around the halls and I am pretty sure that is because they now felt comfortable enough to actually go out and mingle with the wolves and vampires on their own.
I have given everyone the option to live where they want to and I was pleasantly surprised to see how many wanted to venture out on their own. Houses were being built everywhere and soon enough we will have a little village of our own. Jason opened the doors to a room full of women, we made our way up to the stage where I now faced a very curious audience. “First I want to thank you all for coming on such short notice. Secondly I am going to have to ask that if you do not have children above the age of twenty to please exit.” I stated. I watched as the majority of the women got up to leave. “Please fill in the front.” I said. I waited a moment before the remaining sat in front of me. “Pythia what is going on?” Natalie asked. I sat on the edge of the stage and put my hands in my lap. “Well, the big alpha behind me aided me in catching the two crazy elders and in return I did a locator spell to find his mother. You see, if you look closely you can tell he carries the fire element.” I replied. I watched carefully to see if I could see a change in anyone.
“So that means he is half white witch?” An older woman asked. “That is correct. So either the spell was redirected which I doubt or someone here is masking themselves, so I must ask. Who here fell in love with an alpha wolf?” I asked. Only two people froze in their spots and I wasn’t the only one to notice. “Everyone but Natalie and Olivia please leave.” I said looking between the two women. Now this is something I did not expect at all. I crossed my arms over my chest. “Who wants to speak first but I am warning you now if I find out that either of you walked out of his life I will personally and harshly kick your ass.” I stated lowly. “It’s not possible.” Natalie whispered. Alcide came and sat beside me, I could tell that his thoughts were running wild. “We were told you were still born.” Olivia added. Still born? As in died at birth? “What does that mean?” Alcide rasped out. “A still born child is a child that dies at birth. Like something went wrong.” I replied. I know for a fact Natalie is not a white witch so that leaves the only other person in this room.
I shifted my eyes towards Olivia who was still in complete shock. “Natalie what do you know about this?” I tried to give Olivia time to gather her thoughts. “Olivia and I have known each other since we were kids, we kept it a secret obviously but she became like a sister to me. We protected each other. I watched over her when she fell in love with Dexter. They had to keep their relationship a tight secret and when Olivia became pregnant I helped hide her away from everyone.” Natalie replied. She never once took her eyes off of Alcide. “Olivia? What happened?” I asked. Her eyes snapped to me then back to Alcide. “Everything was going fine until Dexter found someone else after I fell pregnant. I didn’t take it well and I went into labor earlier than expected. When the baby was delivered he didn’t cry. He didn’t make a sound. The doctors rushed him out of the room and left me in a panic. When they came back they told me my baby didn’t survive.” Olivia whispered as tears fell down her cheeks. I could feel my heart break into pieces. They lied to her and kept her baby from her.
I could feel tears building up as I watched my aunt fall apart in front of me. Her heartbreak, her loss. I reached over and held Alcides hand. I know this is hard for him to hear. "I was at the hospital with her when they told her. I helped heal her enough to get her out of the hospital, she couldn't take the pain any longer." Natalie added. Honestly I can't say I blame her, I would die a thousand deaths had Apollo not survived. "I couldn't go back. I couldn't look that man in the face, not after how I was treated. They didn't even bandage me up. They just left me there and because they did that to me I am no longer able to have children." Olivia said, I could hear the hatred in her voice that quickly turned to sadness. She can't ever have another child, no matter how hard she tries. I will have to talk to her separately about it, maybe there is something we can do to help her.
"I don't understand.. Why would he lie to me?" Alcide whispered. I reached over and held on to his hand. "I'm alive.. I have searched for you for years and could never find you. I thought you had just walked out on us and I wanted to know why and it was all a lie." Alcide said, looking at Olivia. I decided that we needed to give the two of them some privacy so that they can reconnect. "We will let the two of you talk privately." I said as I stood to my feet. As we made our way towards the door I looked back to see Olivia had wrapped Alcide in a tight hug and she was sobbing. She missed years of his life and even though the thought of them doing such a thing to her is not only heartbreaking but flat out wrong, I am glad we were able to bring the two of them back together. "Is everything alright?" Lillith asked. "Everything is fine. Absolutely no one is allowed back in that room for the rest of the day." I replied back. She nodded her head before she walked off.
I needed to get back home and clean up and check in with the others while Apollo took his nap of the day. I also needed to fill in the others about Alcide and his gift. There was so much to do and so little time but I needed to get it done before dinner time came. I plan on having Alcide and my aunt over as well as my dad and uncle for a nice family dinner to get out any other secrets they may or may not have.
