Chapter 113:
Pythia POV:
I watched as Alley ran off to help whoever she could so I turned my attention back to Bartholomew. He was visibly pissed off because I knew he wasn't expecting Alley to grab him the way she did and she had every right to react the way she did. "Who is she?" Bartholomew asked. "Like I would honestly tell you." I grumbled as I continued to tighten the hinges. "She looks a lot like Athea, very beautiful." Bartholomew mused. ''Unless you want her to come back and man handle you again I suggest you shut up." I snapped. I didn't like the way he spoke of Alley and I knew if she didn't leave when she did Rose would surface and things would get real bad real quick. "Just let me out, Pythia, I can call them all off if you would just come with me." Bartholomew replied. He is changing the subject because he knows I am right. He wasn't expecting Alley to be so strong. "He is looking for all of us." Jasper rang out in my head. "I didn't know you had brothers. Twins at that, they would make a good collection to our kingdom." Bartholomew said.
I snorted at his words, that arrogance that rolled off him was nearly comical. "Do you ever stop talking?" I asked. "No not really, I do like the sound of my own voice." Bartholomew replied. I looked at his wounds and noticed he wasn't having much of an effect on the wolfs bane. "Why haven't you shifted?" I asked. "Unlike everyone else I know when to shift at the right time, right moment." Bartholomew replied coolly. "You are lying, either your wolf is weakened or you prefer to fight in human form." I replied, looking at him. Something was off and I didn't know what it was yet. "Jasper, Jenson, something is off. What are his thoughts?" I asked quickly through the link. "You. He is trying to find what will trigger you enough to open the trap." Jasper replied. "You are doing great at throwing him off. Keep it up." Jenson grunted. He is hiding something I just know he is.
I was working on the last few hinges when a flat out angry growl ripped through the air. It was directed straight at me and I looked over my shoulder to see a very furious beast staring right at me. Judging by the size and the rage directed at me I could guess that it was a female. "Oh don't tell me you have a jealous girlfriend." I taunted looking back at Bartholomew. His eyes were set on whoever that was behind me and his face hardened. I turned back around and watched as she started stalking towards me. I side stepped to put a little distance between us. "Justine don't do it!" Bartholomew yelled. So she was someone who was jealous. "It would help if you would shift back so we could actually talk." I said calmly. She stopped and stared at me for a brief moment before she shifted back into her human form. She was about my height with greasy red hair, she looked deranged, her eyes I was assuming were supposed to be brown but her rage and anger shifted them darker. She was well toned and was visibly mad as hell.
I straightened my body back up and sized her up. "What is your problem?" I asked. "I don't get why he is so fascinated with you." Justine replied. She was taking in all of my features and looked disgusted by me. I didn't say anything back. I knew why he wanted me but I wonder if he told anyone else. "It should have been me. Not you. I was meant to rule by his side, not you!" Justine screamed out, making me laugh. "Are you kidding me? Let me guess he screwed you once but it wasn't enough to satisfy him so he set his eyes on me but you couldn't let it go could you?" I taunted. Her face twisted with rage and I needed her to be fully raged out so she made mistakes. "I did everything he said! Everything he wanted, I was always the one he could come to!" Justine shouted. "No, you were the one he would call for a late night booty call but by all means you can have him. Believe me when I say I won't stand in your way." I said with a smirk and that tipped her over the edge. She lunged at me and I gladly met her half way.
I landed a single punch to her side making her double over. I went to reach for her when she grabbed me by my lower legs and flung me to the ground before she jumped on top of me and drove her fist into my nose, I felt the blood gush out instantly. I jerked my arms up to protect my face as she reigned more punches down on my body. I could hear Bartholomew yelling in the background. I swung my legs up wrapping them around her neck before flinging her backwards. I shot to my feet and ran towards her, I tackled her back to the ground just as she started to stand. I pulled my fist back and hit her on her right eye. She wouldn't be able to see very well if they were swollen and black. No spot on her face was safe, her body started shaking and I watched her face morph and I knew she was starting to shift. She was losing her fight in human form and needed her beast to finish the rest. I jumped up and took several steps back just as she fully shifted.
Her beast growled at me and made a dash straight for me, but before she ever made it to me a long siphon came from the side landing right in the side of her neck. I looked to the side to see Ambrosia stalking towards us. I looked at the beast that was now laying lifeless on the ground. "You owe me a dinner date." Ambrosia said walking by me. "I owe you more than that." I replied just as she pulled the siphon from Justines neck. "Let me see your face. How bad is it?" Ambrosia said standing in front of me. I swatted her hands away, "I'm fine. Probably just broken but it will heal." I replied. ''The infamous vampire queen. How is your brother?" Bartholomew asked. “Why don’t you ask him when you pull your head from Pythias ass. Oh wait. You won’t get the chance.” Ambrosia quipped before she flipped him off.
I looked around to see we were finally winning but a beast in the far corner was staring right at me. I looked back at Bartholomew but when I looked back at the beast it was gone. “What is it?” Ambrosia asked. “Jasper Jenson, dig deep somethings not right. Bartholomew isn’t affected by the wolfs bane and he isn’t healing himself.” I said quickly as I looked around. Ambrosia looked at me confused at first. “He has been way too calm. Something is wrong.” I said through the link. “What does your gut tell you?” Ambrosia asked, scanning her eyes around. “I’m not sure. He could have shifted at any time and gotten out faster and yet he hasn’t.” I replied.
I looked at Bartholomew and he had a smug look on his face. “Delilah? What is happening?” I asked. “HE’S SEPARATED FROM HIS BEAST!” Jasper screamed out in all of our heads. Oh no. I jerked my head around looking for where that beast in the back was. Ambrosia jerked me behind her and she held her siphon up defensively. Everything went in to a frenzy after that. Everyone was attacking faster and harder, taking out as many as they could. Tye and the twins were running towards us. How could we not have known this? “Delilah! Do you see him?” I asked. She was still hidden but she helped out in her own way without making it obvious. “I’m looking” Delilah replied. I saw her run by us and she was on a mission.
I turned to look at Bartholomew who in turn smiled at me, “Where is he?” I asked. “You’ll find out soon enough. Will your lap dogs be able to protect you?” Bartholomew mused. They could fully but Delilah was my secret weapon that he didn’t know about. Tye was the first one to get to us and he stood behind me, Jasper and Jenson stood at my sides and I was officially boxed in. “I need to hide all of you.” I said through the link. “No way! We need to be here.” Tye huffed. “Delilah is somewhere behind us, it'll be fine.” I replied.
Before he could reply I turned and grabbed Tye by the face and planted a firm kiss on his lips. When I pulled back I looked at him and smiled. “Invisique.” I whispered and stepped back. “Where did they go?!” Bartholomew yelled. When I turned back around his beast stood about thirty yards from me. “All of you go!” I yelled when he started running at me. Just as he closed the distance Delilah leaped over me firmly planting herself in front of me before she let out an earth shattering roar shook the ground under us. In that moment she became visible stopping the beast in his tracks. “Impossible!” Bartholomew roared as he finally broke loose from his trap. Delilah backed up until she was standing over me, she growled uncontrollably to the point it vibrated through my body. Her body was tense and she was full on showing her teeth.
Neither of us were expecting for us to be separated from our wolves but at least now it was a semi fair fight...
**Tye POV:**
We were finally gaining the upper hand. I noticed a lot of them shifted back to human form thinking they stood a better chance that way, I kept checking on Pythia making sure Bartholomew wasn’t trying to pull anything. I did see Alley grab him by the throat and Pythia nearly skewer him with a root. I felt incredibly proud of those two women. When Alley ran off Pythia was still working on tightening the hinges. I watched everyone around me and noticed a man sizing me up. He was bigger than the other and had more muscle. He must be someone higher up.
“He thinks he is stronger than you.” Jasper said. “He is Bartholomews right hand man.” Jenson added. Well in that case why don’t I show him who is stronger. I turned my body towards him and smiled. “You must be Bartholomews bitch.” I said. “I’m no ones bitch but I’m about to make you mine.” He growled out before he lunged at me. I dove to the side, swinging my leg out, kicking him in the gut. I heard the air leave his lungs just before he recovered, throwing his fist to my lower jaw. He tried to tackle me but I shoved his head down and rammed my knee straight to his face sending him to the ground. I raised my leg and slammed my foot down onto his chest knocking the air back out of him. I placed my legs around his shoulder before I grabbed him by the face and snapped his neck. I could feel something off with Pythia and I wondered what was going on.
I looked back to see a female had just shifted. I went to run to her when I saw Ambrosia launch her siphon from the side, sticking it in her neck. I blew a sigh of relief when Jasper ran to me. “Something bad has happened.” Jasper said quickly. “What do you mean?” I asked. “Bartholomew isn’t having a reaction to the wolfs bane and he isn’t healing. I’m searching for bad thoughts but he’s working hard to hide something.” Jasper said before his eyes went wide, “HE’S SEPARATED FROM HIS BEAST!” Jasper yelled through the link. I didn’t hesitate to run directly towards her. Everyone picked up the pace and I willed my legs to move faster. I could see Ambrosia push Pythia behind her and hold her siphon out. I finally reached them and placed myself behind Pythia while the twins got on each side of her.
“I need to hide all of you.” Pythia said quickly. I didn’t like the idea of that. Not with that beast out here somewhere “No way! We need to be here.” I huffed. “Delilah is somewhere behind us, it'll be fine.” Pythia replied before I could say anything she turned around and slammed her lips to mine before she pulled back and whispered, “Invisique.” I felt the breeze pass through me. “Where did they go?!” Bartholomew yelled. She turned back around and I looked up to see his beast not far off in front of us. “All of you go!” Pythia yelled through the link. I couldn’t bring myself to move my feet. I felt arms wrap around mine and I was starting to be pulled backwards, when the beast started running I started fighting to break free until I saw Delilah jump over Pythia and let out the most horrifying growl I had ever heard in my life. The beast stopped dead in his tracks, “Impossible!” Bartholomew roared before he finally broke free.
Delilah backed up until she stood over Pythia and in that moment I was officially scared of Delilah for the first time. I could see how tense she was and her face morphed into pure anger and she growled violently. Her fur stood straight up and her teeth were on full display. Her ears were pulled back and her body shook. She stood tall and fierce and there was nothing I could do but watch as the four of them prepared to fight till the death.
