Chapter 71:
Pythia POV:
Yesterday was an eventful day, I may have nearly over exhausted myself but I needed to know just how far I could push myself until pain started to set in. Today I am training in hand to hand combat with Tye, even though I tried to train with someone else Tye wouldn't let me. He tends to be over protective and didn't want anyone to accidentally hurt me. I finally agreed when he agreed to let me train with Rex too. As much as I needed to learn the different forms, I needed to learn how to take on a wolf in wolf form just in case they gathered some from overseas. I decided to rotate my days that way I could see everyone train and they could see me train as well. Apollo was spending the day with Alley and Ambrosia while they organized everything for this weekend. We decided to have a party to show everyone how grateful we are for their help and how much we appreciate all the hard work they have been putting into this.
I dressed in a pair of black spandex shorts with a work out tank top, my hair was in a double french braid so it would stay out of my face. I walked down stairs to see the boys playing with Apollo before we all headed out, "What is for dinner tonight?" Jasper asked. "I am going to grill steaks tonight why?" Tye asked. "Okay I have to come clean about something." Jasper said, looking nervous. "Oh goddess don't tell me you got someone pregnant." I replied, crossing my arms. "NO! Jeez well not yet anyways but I am kind of seeing someone." Jasper replied. "Well now you have my full attention. Spit it out now." I replied. I heard Jenson try to cover his laugh with a cough. "Well we both know that if we meet our mates we will split but um. It's um. Well you know her." Jasper said, tripping over his words. "Oh come one and tell us already!" Tye snapped. "It's Beth!" Jasper replied, running his hand through his hair.
Wait a minute. Beth? The omega that helps Alley? "No way." Tye muttered. "Does Alley or Stephen know?" I asked. "Not yet and honestly I am scared to tell them and so is she." Jasper replied. "Well I don't see why you both would be scared. It's not like there is a barrier or anything like that. As long as you both know that at any point you could meet your mates." I replied. "We know. We have met every wolf around here and nothing and I don't want to be alone for the rest of my life on a slim hope that somehow I will come across my mate." Jasper replied. "I understand but you will have to tell Alley and Stephen and you will do so tonight." Tye said. Fear shot across Jaspers face and I felt a little bad. "You have to tell them little brother. I promise they won't care. The sooner you tell them the sooner you both can relax a bit more. How do you know she isn't your mate?" I asked. "We don't feel sparks or anything like that but it feels... right with her." Jasper said smiling.
I watched his eyes light up talking about her and that made me curious. "You are part white witch so you may not fully have the effects. How does your wolf feel around her?" I asked. "He feels protective, needy and a pile of mush if I am being honest." Jasper replied. I looked over to Tye who had a small smile on his face. "I know exactly how that feels." Tye replied, looking at me. "How about tonight we invite them over. You will be able to tell them while I do the search on the map to see if she is in fact your mate." I said. "Wait, you can do that?" Jasper asked. "Of course I can, it may settle your mind a bit." I replied. "Can we do it now?" Jasper asked. I nodded my head. "Quickly, we don't have much time. Go get me a map from upstairs." I replied. Jasper took off upstairs and I looked over to Jenson. "Would you like me to do the same for you?" I asked. "No, not till after this fight at least." Jenson replied. "Are you sure?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm sure. I don't want to find her then mate and if I die then she dies you know? I would rather wait." Jenson replied.
"Alright, that is your choice." I said, smiling softly. Jasper came running back down the stairs with a map. I took the map and laid it on the table, I walked over and grabbed a knife and held out my hand for him. I made a gash across his palm and turned it over, letting the blood fall around parts of the map. I concentrated harder this time, really focusing on the area she could be in. I held my hand over the map, "Insignia" I whispered. The map went up in flames for a few seconds before it disappeared. The very small piece that was left was the area Alleys house was in. I looked up to Jasper and smiled, "It seems your mate is in Alleys house." I said. I watched as his eyes lit up like a Christmas tree and I knew he wanted to go. "After training you can go. You both need to sit down and figure out what your wolves are feeling. If she is an omega her wolf won't really recognize yours. You will have to fully mate with her." Tye said.
I could see the wheels turning in Jaspers head before he walked over and hugged me. "Thank you." Jasper whispered. "No need to thank me. She is a lovely girl and I am so happy for you, but you treat her right you hear me?" I said sternly. "I do, and I will. Let's go train." Jasper said, walking towards the door. He now had a reason to get through the day faster. "I've already told Alley that we needed the three of them over for dinner tonight." Tye said, kissing my temple. "Perfect, lets drop Apollo off so we can start training." I said as I grabbed Apollo and walked towards the door. As we walked across the field I could see everyone warming up. They looked energetic and determined. When we got to Alleys house I was welcomed with a warm hug and a smile. "We will be over after everything for dinner." Alley said, taking Apollo from me. "Cook the steaks right big brother or I am kicking your ass." Alley said over her shoulder. "Yeah yeah I will check in later." Tye said.
As we walked up to the combat field all eyes fell on us. "First you need to stretch." Tye said. As I was told, making sure my limbs weren't tight. The last thing I needed to do was injure myself more. When I felt like I was warmed up enough and stood to my feet I barely had enough time to dodge the fist that Tye decided to throw at me. "Always be prepared my beauty." Tye said with a grin. Oh so this is how he wants to play? I heard a few gasps but I didn't pay too much attention to it. I grounded my feet and locked my eyes on his. Remembering what Alley has told me in the past, look for a weakness. Don't make any sudden moves and let them make the first move. I kept my hands and arms up protecting my middle section as we began to circle each other. I studied each move he made, he gave nothing away but I didn't give up. His right hand twitched just because he swung at me giving me enough time to duck under him and swiftly kick my left leg around that landed across his lower ribs.
Tye let out a grunt as he turned to face me but I was already ready for him, I swung my left arm connecting it to his jaw. He stumbled backwards before a smile came across his face. "I see you took my advice very well." Tye said. "I did but it doesn't mean I don't feel bad about it." I replied. "Don't feel bad, hit harder." Tye said before he kicked a leg out catching me off guard. I tried to move to the side but wasn't fast enough. I stumbled backwards just enough for him to jump on me, sending us both to the ground. I tucked my legs up rolling us farther backwards until I was on top of him. Before I could strike he easily threw me from him, I rolled a few times before I jumped back to my feet. Tye was already in front of me, he swung his left fist which I deflected sending a fist of my own towards him. He grabbed my arm, pinning it behind me. Just as he brought my body against his I reared my head back hitting him in the nose, his grasp on me loosened just enough for me to twist around bringing my knee up hitting him in the gut.
"Bring out Rex." I said. Tye didn't waste any time shifting and before I knew it Rex was staring at me with his head tilted sideways. "Alright my wolf, let's train." I said smiling. He hunkered down wagging his tail making me laugh. I wasn't the only one that was laughing, I could hear others but I didn't dare look at them. "Now, now Rex, we have to train. We can play later on okay?" I said as I got into a stance. I wasn't really sure how to fight a wolf, I mean sure I have in the past but that was with my magic. Rex let out a playful growl before he lunged at me. I barely had enough time to throw myself out of the way. I swung my arm around hitting him in the ribs. Rex growled a little before he turned to look at me. Rex started to circle me and as he did he got closer and closer to me. He lowered his hand and pulled his ears back, his claws dug into the ground before he swung his head to the side shoving me to the side.
He turned and tried to jump on me but I rolled out of the way kicking him in his side. He let out a yelp and my heart sank slightly. "I don't mean to hurt you." I whispered. Rex shook his head as he focused his eyes on me. Bright green eyes that I loved so much locked on mine. He made his stance a lot bigger than he really is, he pulled his lips back showing his teeth and I realized everyone around us had stopped training to watch what was about to happen. We started circling each other and I wasn't sure what to do. "Get under him and kick upwards." Jenson said through the link, I looked at all possible ways to get under him but the only way I would be able to was to have him jump at me. I inched a little closer to him as if I was going to jump at him. He moved forward before he leaned backwards and that was my tell that he was about to launch at me. The moment his front paws lifted off the ground I ran forward, sliding under him on my back kicking both my feet upwards sending him backwards.
Rex laid on the ground but raised his head to look at me, pride was evident in his eyes. I stood to my feet and walked over to him, he rolled on his back and I gladly rubbed his belly. "I didn't hurt you did I?" I asked, looking down at him. "No my beauty, you were perfect." Rex replied. I smiled at him, "Can I have Tye back for a little while?" I asked. Rex grunted but didn't hesitate to shift. Before I knew it Tye was laying on his back with a wide smile. "I think we need a break to check on the others." Tye replied, jumping to his feet. I turned around to see everyone staring at us. Jenson had a huge grin across his face. "Alright everyone back to training." Jenson said. We took a step back to evaluate everyone. We needed to watch them closely to see where they needed help but so far they all looked great.
