Chapter 27:

Pythia POV:

The moment Ambrosia and I popped into the mall excitement filled me, I made sure we came in where no one would see us, the last thing I wanted to do was cause a big fuss. "Okay we need to get you a bathing suit, sleeping clothes whatever you need." Ambrosia said, pulling me to the closest shop. "Why would I need a bathing suit? Do you know where he is taking me?" I asked. Tye hasn't told me anything but to listen to Ambrosia and get whatever I needed. "I do but that is for him to tell you not me." Ambrosia replied. "Well how am I supposed to know what to get if I don't know anything." I taunted. I saw a smile tug the end of her lips. "That is what you have me for. Now I think blue suits you really well and you are going to have to wear a two piece." Ambrosia said, I started tuning her out while she grabbed a few bathing suits for me. My eyes landed on a cute little sundress, it was a blend between pink and blue with yellow flowers. My fingers touched the soft fabric of it. "That is adorable! You are getting that." Ambrosia said. I turned to see she had two sets of bathing suits in her hand with a few sandals and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Alright fine. I won't ask any questions. You just tell me what I need and that is what I will get." I said, smiling at her. We went from shop to shop grabbing literally everything Ambrosia liked. She got some things for herself too but paid for those with Jacksons card. I felt a little bad, I do have my own money but still. As we walked into another store I heard a few people whispering. I looked over my shoulder to see they were looking right at us. "Let's just grab a few backpacks to carry this in and leave." I said. We had more bags than I knew what to do with. "What is wrong?" Ambrosia asked. "Nothing. Yet. Just a group of people who seem to not want us here." I replied. Ambrosia tilted her head but not in a way that it would signal their attention. "I suppose you are right. Let's grab what we need and head home." Ambrosia replied. We both grabbed black backpacks and stuffed all of our bags into them. Goddess this was much easier to carry.
When we walked out the group that were staring walking right up to us. "Excuse us." One said. Ambrosia and I stopped in our tracks and I glared. "What?" Ambrosia asked in a harsh tone. "We are just curious if you guys don't mind." A tall human man asked. My nerves were going all over the place. "What can I help you with?" I asked in a clipped tone. We have never had any issues with humans but we were always on guard with them. "We heard about a big fight that happened. Is it true?" A female asked. "How did any of you hear about that?" Ambrosia asked. "A few other of our friends were hiking nearby and saw a huge fight that was going on." The male said. "I don't see how that is any of y'alls concern." Ambrosia said tensely, why were they so close to us? There are no hiking trails by any of our lands, we had it set that way to keep the humans away. "Why were any of you so close to our lands?" I asked harshly. "Whoa calm down, we can walk wherever we want to." A girl snapped. "I would watch your tone of voice." Ambrosia said in a deadly tone. I grabbed her arm and started pulling her away from the crowd.
"Hey, we still have other questions!" The man yelled. I spun on my heels feeling angry. "Yes you are. We are leaving in peace." I stated. "Oh come on don't be like that, it's just a few questions!" The woman said back. I started walking off when I heard the word Bitch ring out. Before I could turn back around a deathly growl sounded and I knew just who that growl belonged to. Everyone froze at first and then they started looking in between us. They heard about the fight so I am pretty sure they think another one is about to happen. I looked straight at Tye whose eyes were bright green and I knew it was Rex. He stomped his way towards us and part of me felt a lot better but a part of me was afraid for the humans causing such a fuss. I calmly walked towards him, "Oh shit please tell me they aren't about to fight.." The woman said, fear evident in her voice. I opened my arms and wrapped Rex up. "It's okay, don't hurt them." I whispered in his ear. He buried his head in the crook of my neck and took deep breaths. Before I could say anything else he let go and pushed me behind him. "If I ever catch any of you around our territories it will not be good." Rex growled out.
I could feel pure fear roll off of them. "If I ever catch any of you harassing my mate and my sister again it will not be good. Clear?" Rex growled out with authority. "W-we ju- just wanted to as-ask a few questions is all." The woman stuttered out. The others pulled them away and when I looked around everyone ran from us. "Well that was dramatic." Jackson said. "Shut up." Rex muttered. "Hey, I am fine. We are fine. Give Tye control please." I said cupping his face. The moment his eyes switched Tyes face went up in flames. "Sorry.." He muttered which made me laugh. "Nothing to be sorry for, how did you guys get here?" I asked. "We shifted and ran." Jackson said slinging an arm around Ambrosia. "Well grab hands and let's go home." I stated. As soon as everyone had a hold on the other I took us home. "Pack your things my love and we will head out." Tye said kissing my temple. A smile broke across my face and I hurried to pack all of my things so we can take a few days to relax.
